Prodigal System in the Flourishing City

Chapter 492: Chapter 490: Where is Your Embarrassment? [1st Update]

Time has flown by, and now we’ve reached June, with the weather heating up again.

Not just the weather, but people’s hearts are also warming up, because this period is the busiest of all.

First, Emperor Electric School informed us about some kind of annual assessment, and Principal Li called three times a day, insisting that Lu Xiaobu at least go through the motions.

Then there’s ”The Voice,” which is about to wrap up, and that also comes with a heap of things to deal with.

And there’s the preparation for the LOL S1 season about to start.

None of these are small matters, so much so that after consulting with Lu Xiaobu, Liang Lan temporarily put aside the renovation work at Qian Island Lake, letting Su Luoxue help her manage these important affairs.

Lu Xiaobu expressed understanding, after all, these were all things he impulsively started, cough cough cough!

Everyone’s busy, and Lu Xiaobu is no exception.

Because you have to eat your rice one bite at a time.

So, Lu Xiaobu decided to go to Emperor Electric University first.

No choice, Principal Li had put it in such a way that if he really didn’t show up and go through the formalities, it would truly be crossing a line.

After all, where doesn’t one sleep, it’s all the same!

Arriving at the school, Principal Li personally waited at the entrance for Lu Xiaobu: ”Xiaobu, you finally made it.”

”Come on, it’s just an exam, you had me personally come, and you’re even waiting for me at the door, is it really necessary?”

Lu Xiaobu was speechless.

To him, what did an exam matter?

Worst case, he’d just fail, right?

Cough cough cough!

”This time it’s different, there are many people from other schools coming to observe, and even a big director is here to judge. They’re all here for you,” Principal Li said urgently: ”Didn’t I tell you about this on the phone?”

”Uhh... did you?”

Lu Xiaobu was perplexed, then scratched his head: ”Maybe that was when I was irritated, and I threw the phone away.”

”Pfft!”

Principal Li felt like he’d been stabbed in the chest: ”So you mean, when you didn’t respond on the phone, it wasn’t because you were angry, but because you didn’t hear it at all?”

”Ah.”

Lu Xiaobu nodded earnestly.

Can’t help it, this honest kid doesn’t lie.

”Pfft!”

Another stab!

”Forget it, forget it.”

Principal Li waved his hand, as past grievances choked him up with emotion; he couldn’t bear to look back.

”Tell me again, how do I go through this formality?”

Lu Xiaobu, seeing Principal Li’s state, felt somewhat embarrassed: ”If possible, I think I’ll try to pass the exam.”

”Huh!” Principal Li breathed a sigh of relief, finding some comfort in those words, and then he described: ”This exam is divided into three parts: recitation, group skit, and oral test...”

”Goodbye!”

Lu Xiaobu didn’t wait for Principal Li to finish and turned to leave.

What the heck?

Three parts to the exam?

There’s recitation, skits, and oral tests.

Too much trouble, I couldn’t care less.

”Huh?!”

Principal Li’s mouth twitched as he hurriedly stopped Lu Xiaobu: ”Didn’t you promise to go through with it, even try to pass the exam?”

”Did I say that?”

Lu Xiaobu looked at Principal Li with all seriousness, then turned to Zhang Meng: ”Zhang Meng, did I say that?”

”No!”

Zhang Meng shook his head immediately.

”You see, I didn’t, right. Remember to eat more Brain Black Gold when you’re older, it’s good for you.”

Lu Xiaobu nodded earnestly, then continued to leave.

What? You’re asking about Lu Xiaobu’s embarrassment?

What embarrassment?!

No embarrassment at all.

”Pfft!”

Principal Li felt his heart crumbling.

So shameless, and you’re asking Zhang Meng.

Why don’t you ask yourself?!

Seeing Lu Xiaobu about to leave, Principal Li hurriedly pulled him back: ”Xiaobu, please, really help out! Oh right, there’s something else, that director, he’s a switch director!”

”What does a switch director have to do with me?”

Lu Xiaobu still wanted to leave.

”No, wait! To put it in common language, he’s a live director, and he’s especially interested in esports. He’s specifically come for you!”

Principal Li quickly corrected his mistake.

”Hmm?”

Lu Xiaobu stopped in his tracks: ”A live director? Interested in esports?”

”Exactly, exactly!” Principal Li exhaled in relief, as Lu Xiaobu finally showed interest.

”If that’s the case, I might be interested.”

Lu Xiaobu stroked his chin, indeed piqued.

For esports competitions, a good live director is very important.

A good live director can analyze the situation and show the most exciting moments to the audience.

A bad live director can cause the audience to completely miss all the highlights.

”See, right?”

Principal Li wiped his sweat and said: ”So, meet him at least.”

”Alright then, let’s go, and meet him.”

Lu Xiaobu nodded, he had to watch the competition anyway, and it’s better to make it good.

”Great, great! They’ve already started the exam, I’ll take you there!”

Principal Li said quickly.

...

Lu Xiaobu followed Principal Li to the exam venue.

”Are you in a hurry? If you are, I can see if I can cut in line for you,” said Principal Li cautiously.

It couldn’t be helped, otherwise Lu Xiaobu might just run off.

”No need, I’ll just watch here, and also check out how good the live director is.”

Lu Xiaobu sat in the chair, watching the ongoing exam.

”Alright then.”

Principal Li, seeing Lu Xiaobu’s keen interest, finally relaxed.

Nearby students started whispering to each other when they saw Principal Li’s demeanor.

”Sss? Who’s that? Why does our principal seem so insignificant?”

”Yeah, even with many celebrity students, they don’t dare to talk big in front of the principal! How come this guy is so remarkable?”

A student who was memorizing poetry looked up and said: ”Hehe, his name is Lu Xiaobu, what do you think?”

”Sss! Lu Xiaobu!? No wonder!”

”Indeed, indeed! I thought he looked familiar, but he doesn’t resemble the one in the memes that much!”

”Nonsense, a photo is a photo, the person is the person, can a photo really capture that temperament and feeling?”

”True, the last time I was at the airport, someone walked past me. I didn’t react at all. Later on, I realized it was the big star Song Dao; I didn’t even recognize him!”

”Get ready, let’s focus now.”

”...”

While chatting, the students looked enviously at Lu Xiaobu.

After all, there are too many legends about Lu Xiaobu.

The simplest and most straightforward one: if you run into Lu Xiaobu, it’s like meeting the God of Wealth, with at least five thousand yuan guaranteed.

Honestly, if they weren’t currently in an exam, they’d be over there buttering him up right now!

A few words for five thousand yuan, why not if it’s free!

Lu Xiaobu didn’t pay any attention to them, focusing on the exam instead.

To be honest, he didn’t understand what he was seeing, but you have to keep up appearances!
