Prodigal System in the Flourishing City

Chapter 457: Chapter 455: Conjunctivitis [Third Update]

Tang Geng, a college student.

Not from any prestigious university, just an ordinary one.

Living a life not much different from other college students, without a girlfriend or any other forms of fun.

Just that he has a big imagination, always coming up with bizarre, fun ideas he finds amusing.

But these brainwaves not only fail to gain everyone’s approval but often attract ridicule instead.

Not for anything else, because the things he comes up with, others fail to see the humor in.

This resulted in the ideas that made him laugh hilariously turning into awkward smiles and synonyms for boredom when shared with others.

Yet yesterday, was his most successful brainwave ever.

It was that drawing of Eighteen Dragon Subduing Palms battling against chickens pecking at rice.

”Man, Tang Geng, you rock! That drawing from yesterday cracked me up!”

One of Tang Geng’s roommates patted his shoulder as he spoke.

Since his name is Tang Geng, logically, he ended up with the nickname Tang Geng!

Many other from different dorms also gathered around.

”Yeah! Really fun!”

”How did you come up with it?!”

”I never saw you coming up with such fun stuff before!”

”Yeah! Come up with a couple more!”

”...”

”Hehe.” Seeing his comic being appreciated by others, Tang Geng still felt pretty delighted inside.

After all, his stuff had always been called trash before!

But at the next moment, someone poured cold water on him.

It was another roommate, ”It’s fun, but have you thought of the consequences? Who did you mock? One used to be the number one on the rich list, another is the number one right now, have you considered the consequences if they pursue this matter?”

At these words,

the room went instantly quiet.

The roommate who had been patting Tang Geng’s shoulder slowly lifted his hand, his face showing an awkward smile, ”Uh...cough, I got something else to do, I gotta go first.”

The others also showed embarrassed looks, involuntarily stepping back.

”I got stuff to do too!”

”Anyone up for basketball?”

”Yeah! Yes! Let’s go together!”

”...”

Gradually, everyone left the dorm.

Filling the dorm were only the guy who had made the cold comment, sitting at the table reading—Chen Zhou,

and of course, Tang Geng with an embarrassed, perplexed face.

He felt a bit angry, somewhat scared, but more than anything, aggrieved.

He didn’t know how he had provoked this Chen Zhou, he merely wanted everyone’s approval, what’s wrong with that?

Chen Zhou put down his book and looked at Tang Geng with a disdainful glance, ”What? You think you can soar to the skies just with that crap of yours?”

”I must have really bad luck, failing the college entrance exam was bad enough, and now I end up with roommates who just fool around without working at anything!”

”All you do every day is slack off, not study, always tinkering with that trash!”

His words were full of disdain.

He was arrogant by nature; he had declared before the college exam that he would surely get into the metropolitan university.

He even filled all his college choices with that university!

But as you know,

he didn’t get in.

He got into this university only after trying everything possible.

But none of this had honed his temperament, instead, it filled him with even more resentment.

He believed he shouldn’t be here, he should be at the metropolitan university.

He felt like he was the crane among chickens, the gold amid sand.

He deserved the most attention, the most adulation, the most girls chasing after him!

But, what about now!?

That Tang Geng, who has always been the butt of jokes, actually got more attention than him with that piece of garbage?

How could his proud self bear this?!

It’s quite common in society, some people always think they are extraordinary and can’t stand seeing others succeed.

What he can’t get, he would rather destroy.

It’s called jealousy!

Absolutely disgusting!

”I didn’t, I just wanted to make everyone happy!” Tang Geng defended.

”You didn’t? Still saying you didn’t? Happy? Teasing others to make yourself happy! Who do you think those two are that you can tease them?”

Chen Zhou stood from a high and mighty perspective, rebuking with a face that mimicked moral integrity.

”I! I!”

Tang Geng found himself at a loss for words.

He felt he was not in the wrong, but didn’t know how to argue back!

At this moment.

”Tang Geng, Tang Geng, someone is looking for you, a beautiful girl!”

The roommate who just rushed out came back in a puff, his eyes filled with excitement!

”A beautiful girl?”

Hearing the roommate’s words, Tang Geng hadn’t spoken yet, but Chen Zhou spoke first: ”What beautiful girl? You’ve been pent up too long, even a sow looks like a beauty to you! With Tang Geng’s looks, a big sow, more likely!”

Can you hear how ugly and harsh these words sound?!

Tang Geng’s face was filled with anger and grievance!

Even that roommate was infuriated by the retort.

What kind of person is this!

Who provokes you!

Usually acting all high and mighty, just ignore him if no one deals with him.

What’s up today?

Acting like someone who will bite anyone if provoked?

But Chen Zhou kept babbling: ”It’s not me criticizing you guys, spend more time reading books, that’s better than anything! Look at me, how serious and hardworking I am?!”

”Don’t always dream of achieving instant success, that’s not a dream you can have!”

”I’m so talented and still trying hard, what about you?! Just slacking and waiting for death!”

”...”

While he was still talking, he didn’t see that the expressions of Tang Geng and his roommate had changed.

From the initial anger, gradually turning to surprise and disbelief!

Even at the end, a mesmerized look appeared in both their eyes!

Because they saw a person—Liang Lan, breathtakingly beautiful and brimming with an unbeatable sis vibe!

Liang Lan walked in briskly, first glanced at Tang Geng, confirming he was indeed the person she was looking for.

Then she walked up to the still babbling Chen Zhou from behind: ”Turn around for a moment!”

Chen Zhou heard that cold voice from behind, startled, but his mouth did not stop: ”Who is it! Didn’t you see I...”

As he spoke, he turned his head.

”Slap!”

Liang Lan slapped Chen Zhou’s face with the back of her hand, turning Chen Zhou’s just turned head, along with the words in his mouth, all back.

She indeed heard how this Chen Zhou had referred to her.

Although as a student, she didn’t delve deep—correcting was still necessary.

Otherwise, wouldn’t that embarrass Young Master Bu!

Liang Lan took out a handkerchief and wiped her hands.

Then walked up to Tang Geng, looking at him: ”Are you Tang Geng?”

”Yes...yes...yes.”

Tang Geng, seeing the gorgeously ethereal but queenly Liang Lan in front of him, stammered.

”Well then, I am here under the orders of Young Master Bu, to invite you to join the Lu Group, would you be interested?”

Liang Lan said.

On hearing this, the entire hall was shocked!
