Prodigal System in the Flourishing City

Chapter 481: Chapter 479: Seizing the Ship [Second Update]

Lin Feng frowned as he looked at Lu Xiaobu’s carefree demeanor.

But he said nothing.

Eventually, he even sat down: ”Housekeeper, make breakfast then! If Lu Xiaobu is not in a hurry, then there’s no need for us to rush either!”

”Alright then!”

Housekeeper Jia agreed through gritted teeth.

He was already prepared to meet his death.

If it came to it, he’d die alongside Young Master Lin!

As the pirates got closer.

Lu Xiaobu and Lin Feng seemed to enjoy their meal more and more.

This scene instantly infuriated the Lin Family members!

”Feng, what are you guys doing?!”

”Lin Feng, Lu Xiaobu, have you lost your minds? Or are you having your last breakfast?!”

”Do you think this is inside the country? That nobody dares to touch you?!”

”This is abroad, the opposition are ruthless pirates!”

”Did you get scared out of your wits?!”

”...”

People were saying all sorts of things, such variety of life!

And Lin Hao, who had been freezing in the water for half the night and was still shivering, revealed a hint of a cold gleam in his half-conscious state.

It seemed this pirate incident couldn’t be separated from him!

Finally!

The pirates approached.

Just as Zhang Meng had mentioned before, they stopped their large ship at a distance and deployed smaller boats.

However, the only difference was, there were not four, but six speedboats!

Two circled around patrolling, shouting and firing their guns to intimidate!

Their actions were extremely exaggerated; standing on the boats, continuously firing into the sky, even provocatively gesturing a throat-slitting motion towards those on the island.

Utterly arrogant!

The other four speedboats split into two groups, one heading for the cruise ship, obviously aiming to hijack it!

The last two headed toward the uninhabited island.

This scene further confirmed the previous suspicions of Lu Xiaobu and Lin Feng—there was an internal traitor!

Clearly, the opposition knew too much!

On the two speedboats heading for the uninhabited island, each carried three people, six fully armed individuals in total.

They used the dark muzzles of their guns to sweep back and forth over the people on the island continually.

Even threateningly pretending to pull the trigger, signaling a threat!

Watching this, those of the Lin Family were scared witless.

”Don’t, don’t kill me!”

”I’ll give you money, I have money!”

”You’re just after money, right?! We’ll give you money!”

”...”

And here they hadn’t even landed yet, but the hijacking of the cruise ship had already begun.

On the ship, Li Jin and the experienced crew had tied a circle of gasoline barrels to the exterior railings of the cruise ship.

The cylindrical gasoline barrels could obstruct the pirates from boarding with their Flying Claws, creating difficulty for them if they attempted to come aboard and even serve as a weapon to throw down at them!

As for ladders and the like, they were dismantled long ago!

”People on the ship, listen up, surrender obediently and don’t resist in vain!”

The pirates threatened: ”Our bullets do not have eyes!”

It seemed these pirates were really well-prepared; they even had those who spoke Mandarin!

However, threats aside, those who needed to board would still attempt to board!

The two speedboats stopped, one on the left and the other on the right.

Pirates on the speedboats, with the drivers remaining motionless.

One pirate, gun in hand, aimed at the ship, ready to fire at any moment.

Another threw a Flying Claw, preparing to board the ship!

There’s no denying it—the gasoline barrels were useful; the first attempts of the Flying Claws failed to grab any substantial anchor.

The crew members on the cruise ship hid behind cover, holding Fire Extinguishing Water Dragons, ready to let loose the moment a pirate showed their face.

Others held homemade weapons similar to ancient halberds, guarding against the enemy’s assault.

And Li Jin took out the seeds from his pocket, clenching them in his hand.

He peered through the gaps between the gasoline barrels for a look below.

Aiming!

However!

”Da da da!”

Experienced pirates immediately spotted Li Jin’s figure and fired a burst at him.

Not just him, the two ships patrolling nearby also executed firepower suppression at the same time!

Li Jin was brutally forced back behind cover.

”Don’t resist, I’ll say it again, don’t resist!”

The pirates threatened once more.

Li Jin slightly pressed down his hand, signaling the crew to stay well-hidden!

It seems that they could only attack when the pirates boarded.

He clenched the seed in his hand, dealing with both at the same time?

No big problem!

Seeing Li Jin scared to show his head, the pirates below let out a wild laughter: ”Hahaha, right, squat nicely, no need to resist, resistance brings only blood and death!”

The crew, one by one, were sweating profusely, pale-faced.

Even with their vast experience, faced with the threat of death, they couldn’t help but feel afraid!

After all, there was too great a disparity in weapons!

That’s the natural human response!

Li Jin had no time to comfort them; after all, keeping them alive would be a million times more effective than comforting words!

He gestured for the crew to keep quiet, lying on the ship, ears pressed against the deck.

Wishing to discern the pirates’ boarding location through faint sounds.

After all, the pirates weren’t stupid; they also had to be wary of firearms on the ship.

So, they might choose a different path to board halfway up the climb!

And Li Jin must grasp their whereabouts to attack at first instance!

However, don’t look at the intensity here.

In fact, this wasn’t the main battlefield.

The main battlefield was on the uninhabited island.

If everyone on the uninhabited island was captured, even if the cruise ship wasn’t taken down, it wouldn’t matter.

...

On the uninhabited island.

The pirates’ two motorboats were drawing ever closer.

Even those on shore could see their yellowed teeth, knife scars on their bodies, and of course, that unmistakable bloodthirsty smile on their faces!

One by one, they grew increasingly fearful.

”Everyone squat by the side, hands on your heads! Otherwise, you will be killed on the spot!”

The pirates fired a warning shot again and shouted loudly.

This was a precarious business, so they had to be cautious.

Otherwise, they might not see tomorrow’s sun.

Hearing the pirates’ words, the Lin Family people immediately started doing as told.

Everyone hunkered down, hands on their heads, even voluntarily lowering their heads, closing their eyes!

”I’m squatting down, don’t shoot!”

”I’ve squatted down, already down!”

”We have money, we’ll give you money!”

”...”

At this moment, it wasn’t about whether you were brave or timid; this was about self-preservation.

After all, what good is boldness?

Without weapons, and not having eaten their fill, going for a desperate fight?

That’s just courting death!

However, not everyone squatted down.

Lu Xiaobu and Lin Feng didn’t.

Both were still having breakfast.

Lu Xiaobu was confident.

And Lin Feng was confident because of Lu Xiaobu’s confidence.

As for Zhang Meng, he had already arrived in front of Lu Xiaobu, ready to shield against bullets.

Although Liang Lan and the others were shaking with fear, pale as ghosts, they still stood firmly by Lu Xiaobu’s side, not leaving.

Lu Xiaobu looked at the two motorboats about to land, put down the roasted bird egg in his hand, and wiped his mouth: ”It’s about time!”
