Prodigal System in the Flourishing City

Chapter 404: Chapter 402: It Really Exploded [3rd Update, Extra for Narcolepsy]

The next day.

Oh, actually it wasn’t the next day—those people didn’t sleep all night.

So at this moment, the newspapers are all over with reports about ”The Voice”.

”Shimen TV Station’s Desperate Counter-Attack!”

”The Voice of Heavenly Dynasty Sweeps the Nation!”

”Lu Xiaobu’s Divine Planning Descends upon the Variety Show Realm”

”What Are the Ratings? Can the Professionals Pull Off a Comeback from the Brink?”

”The Voice of Heavenly Dynasty: A Feast of Music!”

”Praises All Around for The Voice of Heavenly Dynasty”

Of course, those were the compliments.

There were criticisms too.

Like, sensationalism!

Ratings aren’t out yet, can’t draw conclusions!

Lu Xiaobu buying his way with money.

And so on and so forth.

Enough said, let’s not dwell on those unhappy things.

As for online.

Since last night, topics about ”The Voice” haven’t ceased at all.

Even at three or four in the morning, there were people online discussing, talking about the show, the contestants, and Lu Xiaobu’s extravagant moves.

There were all sorts of comments, not very unified.

And starting this morning, the topic suddenly focused on—What are the ratings for ”The Voice”?

”Hasn’t it come out yet?”

”So slow!”

”I’ve already watched the replay of last night’s ’The Voice’ three times!”

”I’ve been waiting since night, and there is still no flash report!”

”It’s already nine o’clock, haven’t the staff woken up yet, hurry up, get up and tally it, the whole nation is waiting!”

”Quick quick quick!”

”Sweat, it’s not a matter of getting up, the calculation of the ratings is quite complex, it involves synthesizing lots of data to produce the most accurate ratings.”

”So looking forward to it!”

”I’m anxious!”

”Same here, really want to know how much it is!”

”Not sure if ’The Voice’ can take down those shows that were introduced from Korea!”

”Prepare yourselves mentally, besides famous programs imported from abroad, or hit shows in their second or third seasons, generally the first episode of a new show won’t rate very high. Look at ’Hot Voice’, its first episode was just 0.7%, and only gradually climbed after. Of course, ’The Voice’ is different, so let’s be conservative—0.9%, I guess!”

”The analysis above makes sense.”

”Agree, the greater the expectation, the greater the disappointment. Rather than be disappointed, why not lower the expectations for a pleasant surprise!”

”An initial 0.9%? That’s already mind-blowing! It would completely crush ’Hot Voice’, not to mention other shows!”

”No no no, I disagree, ’The Voice’ doesn’t follow the usual path, and its ratings definitely won’t either, I feel it’s around 1%.”

”1%? Can it be done?”

”It’s doubtful, but not impossible, anything’s possible, after all, that’s Lu Xiaobu!”

”I’m also optimistic about ’The Voice’! Lu Xiaobu is truly awesome!”

”Big love for Lu Xiaobu! Big love for ’The Voice’! This is the real singing show! This is a work made with genuine sincerity! Thumbs up for Lu Xiaobu!”

Inside Shimen TV Station, they also made a prediction—1.2%.

Quite high!

The outside world said they’ve gone mad!

...

Just before ten o’clock, a Weibo poll was suddenly launched by the official Weibo, asking people to predict the ratings for ”The Voice”!

There were five voting options.

One: Ratings below 0.5%.

Two: Ratings between 0.5% - 0.8%.

Three: Ratings between 0.8% - 1.0%.

Four: Ratings between 1.0% - 1.2%.

Five: Ratings between 1.2% - 1.5%.

Netizens rushed to vote, all eagerly participating!

”Choose four!”

”Sweat, isn’t four too high?”

”Hmm, the third option is the most likely!”

”I choose five!”

”Damn, five is impossible!”

”Five... that’s way too high!”

”Cough cough, stay calm, stay calm, I also like ’The Voice’, but the fifth option is a bit far-fetched. Those imported international hit shows, and it’s not their first episode, only reached 1.3%, 1.4%. Let’s stay rational!”

”Cut it out! That’s because you’re unaware of how much of a bug Lu Xiaobu is!”

”Support! Choose five, no explanation!”

”Uh, I also hope ’The Voice’ can beat domestic variety shows, even international ones. But this is its first episode, we can wait for what comes later, wait for the finale of ’The Voice’, that time we’ll confront them at the Pinnacle of the Forbidden City! Comparing who is better!”

”Wait for so many more episodes?”

”We must resolve them in the first episode!”

”Exactly, let’s do it! Who cares about the rest!”

”Young Master Bu said, ’When spring comes, I won’t be the first to speak, should any bug dare to chirp, they’ll be beaten with no negotiation!’”

Hmm, just listen to that attitude, that temperament, you can tell they’re Lu Xiaobu’s fans.

”Five!”

”I’m also choosing five!”

”That’s right, we can’t lose in momentum! Vote for the fifth option!”

”Support Lu Xiaobu! Beat up the whole world!”

”Crush those bugs!”

”...”

The character of Lu Xiaobu’s fans has infected a portion of people, leading them all to choose the seemingly most improbable option—1.2%-1.5%.

The results came out.

The respective percentages for the four options were 6%, 9%, 18%, 42%, 25%.

Yes, more people still placed their bets on the fourth TV ratings prediction: 1.0%-1.2%, at 42%.

This shows that everyone is really looking forward to ”The Voice.”

But that fifth option with 25% is kind of scary!

...

Zhang Feng and Elder Wang from Shimen TV Station, including the station managers, nodded in approval, it was close to their predictions.

However, other peers in the industry weren’t as optimistic.

”The Hot Voice” column team.

”The TV ratings aren’t out yet?”

”Not yet.”

”Tsk tsk, have you seen the online voting?”

”What’s there to see? A bunch of amateurs, thinking ”The Voice” could really surpass us?”

”Indeed they’re amateurs, but it’s fun to watch the joke unfold! Do you know that 25% picked 1.2%-1.5%? It’s hilarious.”

...

The team responsible for importing Japanese programs, which currently lead in TV ratings.

”I just laugh, think making a show is all about money? Then why bother importing at all!”

”1.2%? If Lu Xiaobu gets 0.8%, he should count his blessings!”

”Sigh, laymen are just laymen, they only watch for the excitement.”

”Yeah, if it’s no good, it’s no good!”

...

Yuan Xu, who was fired.

”Rubbish, it’s just a gimmick. Do they really think they can beat the whole world?! ’Should any bug dare to chirp’ - are they themselves not the bugs?!”

He was fired, and he was furious.

Many of his friends came to support him.

”Right, right, it’s trash!”

”Can’t go higher than 0.6%!”

...

Regardless of these people’s emotions or what they predicted.

But, just the same, everyone was paying attention to ”The Voice’s” TV ratings.

And just after 12 o’clock.

Suddenly!

The TV ratings were released!

”It’s out!”

”Damn, finally!”

”What’s going on? How much is ’The Voice’?”

Countless people swarmed in!

Countless industry insiders were watching!

But, when they saw the TV ratings data...

”Go to hell!”

Everyone swore!

Staring at the screen, the TV ratings left everyone in utter disbelief!

”Is this real?!”

”What kind of joke is this?!”

”Could they have counted wrong?!”

”Holy sh*t, did Lu Xiaobu really beat them up?!”

”I can’t even believe what I’m seeing!”

”...”

Their shock isn’t without reason!

Because!

The data displayed was simply shocking!

”The Heavenly Dynasty’s The Voice” first episode TV ratings—2.07%!!!

It broke 2%!!!
