Fate-Defying Demon Emperor

Chapter 194: Chapter 194: Drink a Toast or Be Forced to Drink as a Penalty

Su Han’s heart tightened as he pulled Lu Yunxian behind him. He immediately activated his Nine Heavens Eye to scan the surroundings, his vigilance at its peak.

He had previously probed the area with his Nine Heavens Eye and found no enemies, but this voice couldn’t have appeared from thin air. This person was clearly anything but simple; the first layer of his Heavenly Eye was not powerful enough to detect him.

Soon, Su Han’s attention was captured by the Black Gold Throne.

The black jade pendant began to radiate a brilliant black light that fused with the throne. Instantly, the throne began to rapidly change shape, like a Transformer.

In the end, the black jade pendant vanished, and the Black Gold Throne transformed into a Black Gold Puppet!

Yes, a puppet. It was similar to the Bronze Puppets in the Nine Curves Labyrinth Formation, but much stronger.

Two beams of crimson light shot from the Black Gold Puppet’s eye sockets. They landed on Su Han like a physical gaze, instantly making him feel as if he had become transparent, with no secrets left to hide.

”Crystallization of the Holy Body, Third Layer of the Phenomenon Realm, and it seems you have a few special bones. Most remarkably, you’re practicing a Demonic Technique! Both sacred and demonic... Excellent, just excellent!”

The Black Gold Puppet spoke in a grating voice, yet it seemed quite satisfied with Su Han.

”This physical body is as if tailor-made for me! Once I possess you, I can begin cultivating anew and quickly return to my peak strength. The heavens are smiling down on me!”

The Black Gold Puppet was ecstatic, barely able to contain its eagerness to possess Su Han and live another life.

Black Scorpion Poison Venerable!

Su Han’s eyes narrowed, his expression grave, as he deduced the Black Gold Puppet’s true identity. This was the Black Scorpion Poison Venerable’s lair, and that black jade pendant was clearly his legacy’s Supreme Treasure. The person before him could only be the Venerable himself.

However, the real Black Scorpion Poison Venerable had long since been besieged and killed by Qin Wushuang and his allies. Even his corpse had been dismembered and divided, so he couldn’t possibly still be alive. What resided inside the Black Gold Puppet could only be one of his remnant soul.

”Indeed, it is I. I was fortunate to have the foresight to leave a soul behind; otherwise, I would have truly been doomed. The last time you were here, I sensed you, but I never imagined your physical body would be so magnificent.”

”Now, you are battered and bruised, your Demonic Qi is depleted, and you have no means left to save yourself. How can you possibly contend with me? I’ll give you a chance. Submit willingly to my possession, and I’ll spare those two. Otherwise, all three of you will die!”

The Black Scorpion Poison Venerable was brimming with pride, certain of his victory. While his Black Gold Puppet could only exert strength equivalent to the First Layer of the Physique Realm, he had patiently bided his time, waiting for this very moment.

Now that the battle was over, everyone had exhausted their techniques and their combat power was at rock bottom. This was the perfect opportunity for him to reap the spoils. He could also see how important Lu Yunxian and Ning Feifan were to Su Han. Therefore, he had no doubt Su Han would comply.

Once I possess this physical body, I just need some time to adapt before I can recover seventy to eighty percent of my power. After that, I just need to find a few fortunate opportunities to restore my strength to the Supreme level.

Hatred for Qin Wushuang and the others surged within the Black Scorpion Poison Venerable. His first act upon being reborn would be to claim his revenge.

At this moment, the Black Scorpion Poison Venerable wasn’t the least bit concerned about Su Han fleeing. This place was his domain. Whether it was this great hall, the Nine Curves Labyrinth Formation outside, or the entire lair, everything was under his control.

This is my chance to be reborn through possession!

”Fairy Sister Yun Xian, take Ning Feifan and fall back. I’ll deal with him!” Su Han said in a low voice.

Run? Beg for mercy? Wait for death?

None of these were in Su Han’s character. He wouldn’t retreat, not even if he were facing the real Black Scorpion Poison Venerable instead of a mere puppet.

When two brave warriors meet on a narrow path, the more courageous one will triumph. Only by charging forward can one become invincible. With me, there is no defeat!

”Little Han, be careful!”

Knowing she couldn’t help, Lu Yunxian gave him an anxious warning before quickly retreating with Ning Feifan.

At this moment, Su Han reached into his storage ring and pulled out the Chidori Han Ice Flower and the Redflame Vermilion Bird Fruit, which he had only just obtained.

Although he had the Devouring Heaven Demonic Art, trying to devour and digest power mid-battle would be too slow. It was far less effective than consuming these two superior-grade Daoist herbs.

As soon as the Daoist herbs entered his mouth, he quickly chewed and swallowed. Instantly, two surging torrents of power—one of ice, one of fire—erupted within his body.

The energy contained in superior-grade Daoist herbs was immense. An ordinary Phenomenon Realm Martial Artist wouldn’t dare to consume them directly, as they would risk exploding from the inside out. But Su Han not only possessed a Sacred Body, he had also endured the Thunderbolt Ice-Fire Tempering. For him, the pain from the clashing ice and fire was nothing.

As Su Han devoured the medicinal power and converted it into Demonic Qi, he simultaneously activated his two divine methods—the Nine Mysteries True Fire Method and the Nine Nether Cold Underworld Qi—fusing the energies of ice and fire from the herbs into them.

”Hm?”

The Black Scorpion Poison Venerable noticed Su Han consume the Daoist herbs. Sensing the rapidly rising aura within his opponent, he understood Su Han’s intent.

”So you’d rather do this the hard way. Since you insist on being stubborn, I’ll simply kill you and take your body anyway!”

The Black Scorpion Poison Venerable had no intention of giving Su Han time to recover. With a furious roar, he charged.

This Black Gold Puppet was forged from some special Spirit Gold, making it incredibly durable and as heavy as a mountain. As it charged, it tore through the atmosphere, creating a deafening sonic boom that made space itself tremble.

The Black Scorpion Poison Venerable needed no weapon or treasure, for the Black Gold Puppet itself was the ultimate weapon.

Gripping the Black Blade, Su Han poured his Demonic Qi into it and unleashed the first form of his technique: Thunderbolt Overwhelming Power. Drawing upon the thunder of heaven and earth, he brought the blade down in a mighty slash aimed at the Black Scorpion Poison Venerable.

CLANG!

Sparks flew, and the piercing sound of clashing metal resounded, unleashing intense fluctuations that swept out in all directions.

Su Han felt an irresistible force surge through the blade, almost tearing it from his grasp. The impact split the webbing of his hand, sending him staggering back more than ten meters and carving two long trenches in the floor.

This Black Gold Puppet was comparable to an expert at the Physique Realm. Though it lacked Spiritual Energy and treasures, its sheer power and speed were beyond what an ordinary person could withstand. With his injuries still unhealed and his Demonic Qi running low, Su Han was simply no match for it.

The Black Scorpion Poison Venerable threw a punch, unleashing an Earth Rank Mid-Level Martial Technique: the Rending Demon Fist. Unfortunately, without Demonic Qi, he couldn’t unleash its true power. Even so, backed by the puppet’s hardened body, the punch still caused the very air to collapse and implode.

Sensing an intense crisis, Su Han clenched his left fist and threw a hasty punch to meet the attack, unleashing the Golden Emperor Tanyang Fist. The Golden Emperor Phantom materialized as he struck.

As their fists collided, Su Han was overpowered and staggered back seven or eight steps. The Black Scorpion Poison Venerable pressed his advantage, his iron fists swinging relentlessly as he pounded down with furious intent.

In that instant, Su Han was plunged into mortal danger.
