Zhan Shen: It’s Just a Sacrifice, How Can I Become a Villain?

193: Lock on the queen ant!Rustle, rustle, rustle!

The giant ants carried the leopard’s corpse, rapidly crawling through the forest like tireless beasts of burden.

At this moment, its pitiful brain held only one thought: to offer this delicious prey to its Queen.

As for expecting any reward or prize? Sorry, as a worker ant, a beast of burden, it had no such thoughts.

The mere act of offering prey to the Queen was enough to send it into a cranial orgasm.

Therefore, it completely failed to notice the two shadowy humans following behind it.

He Lin’s observational skills were very keen; as the worker ant delved deeper, he observed more traces of giant ants’ activity.

Clearly, there was a giant ant nest here.

And according to the division of labor within ant colonies, these worker ants held the lowest status—they were the beasts of burden among beasts of burden.

Yet, a single worker ant like this possessed the strength of the Chuan Realm; how terrifying, then, must this ant nest be?

Although He Lin believed that such strength and scale of Mysterious populations should not appear in the sparsely populated Anta County, the facts were before him, and he had no time to investigate the cause of the matter.

“Song Zhong, if we approach the ant nest rashly, it will be very dangerous.

We don’t know the strength of the Queen and her guards, nor do we know their numbers,” He Lin reminded him.

“Heh heh, don’t worry; no matter what happens later, you just need to watch from the sidelines.”

Song Zhong’s voice was somewhat eerie, but in the biting cold of winter, it sounded unusually reliable.

“Alright!”

He Lin readily agreed; no matter how dangerous the path ahead, he just needed to cling tightly to the big shot’s leg.

However, to highlight his own value, he looked at the pixel smartwatch on his wrist; there was still no message.

Sigh! What is the President doing?

Not replying for so long, could he have been targeted by those Outer Gods again?

After an unknown distance, as the worker ant advanced, a massive fracture zone appeared before Song Zhong and He Lin.

He Lin looked at the scene before him in astonishment; the great earth fissure was like a scar, spanning before the two of them.

He couldn’t perceive how long the fissure was, only seeing the worker ant swiftly disappear into the crack.

How could there be such a place in this forest?

“Heh heh, finally found it!”

When Song Zhong saw the great earth fissure, he knew that their destination had finally arrived.

The leader of these mutated ants, the Queen, had constructed a nest on the cliff face of this fissure.

And that Queen came from within Fengdu Ghost City.

Unlike Song Zhong’s calm composure, He Lin had a look of seeing a Ghost, “Song Zhong, did you know such a place existed here from the beginning?”

“Of course, otherwise, why would I bother coming here?”

The shock in He Lin’s heart had not dissipated. “Then since we’ve found the place, what about the other believers?”

“Of course, we’ll find those bugs from the Ancient God Church; at the very least, we can’t let them easily affect my plan.”

After Song Zhong finished speaking, he walked to the edge of the fissure, then, with his hands clasped behind his back, he stepped into the air.

A whirlwind appeared beneath his feet, and then Song Zhong disappeared from He Lin’s sight.

He Lin stared blankly at the vanished Song Zhong; after a moment of hesitation, he also came to the edge of the fissure.

After observing for a moment, goosebumps immediately erupted all over He Lin’s body.

The cliff face of the fissure was densely covered with red worker ants.

Among them were also some completely black soldier ants; their bodies were even larger, their massive mouthparts reflected a cold light, and their thick legs were covered in sharp short hairs.

If it were just a single one, it wouldn’t be so terrifying, but thousands of such ants appearing before you would make even those without trypophobia feel their scalp tingle.

And Song Zhong just descended so gracefully.

And the ant colony had now discovered this foreign intruder.

Upon discovering Song Zhong, the soldier ants responsible for observation immediately sent out a signal.

Instantly, the entire ant colony entered an attack state; they all turned their heads towards Song Zhong, their two antennae waving incessantly.

Their mouthparts rubbed against each other, emitting a rustling sound.

But they could only issue warnings like this, having no way to deal with Song Zhong, because he was floating in mid-air.

And these worker ants and soldier ants could not fly.

Song Zhong raised a finger, and a single raindrop suddenly condensed in the air.

Whoosh!

That raindrop directly pierced through a soldier ant’s body, from its head to its anus, in one fluid motion.

The soldier ant instantly fell to the ground, losing its life force.

Upon discovering their companion’s death, the surrounding ants immediately began to frantically devour its corpse.

This was their habit; during food shortages, they would choose to devour some of their companions to ensure the survival rate of the colony.

“A very tenacious species, but you probably won’t have a chance to eat anymore.”

After Song Zhong finished speaking, countless raindrops condensed in the air; he activated his ability, Pear Blossom Needles.

Bang, bang, bang!

In just an instant, those raindrops, like machine gun bullets, swept towards the opposite cliff face.

And those ants were practically living targets, with nowhere to hide.

Countless ant corpses fell from the cliff face, and after this one-sided massacre, the ants suddenly began to retreat into their nest.

Since they couldn’t attack the intruder, they would retreat first to preserve their strength.

This was the Queen’s command.

Looking at the retreating ant colony, Song Zhong smiled, “Since you’ve retreated, then I’m going in.”

A fierce wind surged within the fissure, and Song Zhong instantly arrived inside the nest.

These worker ants were very large, so Song Zhong didn’t feel crowded at all after entering the nest.

And upon discovering Song Zhong had entered the ant nest, the enraged soldier ants knew their chance had finally come.

The opponent had entered the ant nest, so they could now attack him.

In an instant, hundreds of soldier ants surged forward like a black tide, with red worker ants behind them.

Song Zhong looked at these ants with disdain; within a twenty-meter radius centered on him, a storm suddenly erupted.

Countless sharp Wind Scythe instantly dismembered the ants; black-green fluid splattered on the walls, emitting a sour, foul odor.

This was the third ability Song Zhong drew from Wind Master Feilian, Wind Scythe.

It was a highly efficient area-of-effect attack ability.

Resolving hundreds of ants in an instant did not instill fear in the ant colony behind; they still charged towards Song Zhong, oblivious to death.

But mere Mysterious of the Chuan Realm, no matter how numerous, could not do anything to Song Zhong; the more that came, the more that died.

Wind Scythe mercilessly harvested the ants’ lives as Song Zhong walked step by step deeper into the nest.

At the same time, using his wind manipulation ability, he accelerated the flow of Qi within the ant nest.

In such a large nest, it would be almost impossible to find the Queen using conventional methods.

But there was Qi inside, and by controlling the flow of Qi, Song Zhong could perceive the situation in every corner of the ant nest.

And the Queen’s size far exceeded that of ordinary ants; as the Qi continuously flowed, Song Zhong quickly located the Queen.
