Zhan Shen: It’s Just a Sacrifice, How Can I Become a Villain?

155: If you want to destroy it, you must first make it expand!Upon hearing Shen Qingzhu’s flattery, Whisper felt delighted.

He could already imagine Song Zhong dying under the Night Watcher’s siege.

And getting rid of Song Zhong would be the beginning of Whisper’s complete control over the Ancient God Church.

Hahaha, Song Zhong, you will be the stepping stone for me to achieve my ambition!

”What you said makes a lot of sense, Shen Qingzhu. If we follow your idea, how should we make Song Zhong fall into our trap step by step?” Whisper asked, he was very eager to hear Shen Qingzhu’s opinion now.

”Lord Whisper, there’s an ancient saying in Great Xia: ’To destroy something, you must first make it arrogant!’

”To destroy something, you must first make it arrogant?” Whisper repeated Shen Qingzhu’s words and fell into deep thought.

”Exactly!” Seeing that Whisper was interested, Shen Qingzhu continued, ”As long as we find a way to make Song Zhong believe that this attack on the Zhaijie Institute is foolproof, he will definitely fall into our trap.”

”Keep going!” Whisper sat on the bench, thinking seriously.

”First, we need to find a way to help him get the Zhaijie Institute’s defense map, so he can familiarize himself with the situation there.”

”That shouldn’t be difficult!” Whisper said.

”Secondly, it’s to provide him with as much help as possible! Including support in manpower, material resources, and financial resources.”

Whisper frowned, ”Isn’t that a bit too deliberate?”

After all, there was an irreconcilable conflict between him and Song Zhong. Helping him so much felt like putting a warm Face on a cold backside.

”Lord Whisper, as the saying goes, ’you can’t catch a wolf without sacrificing a child.’ If you want to completely get rid of Song Zhong, you must pay a heavy price.”

Seeing Whisper’s hesitation, Shen Qingzhu quickly continued to persuade him.

”Temporary forbearance is for a greater victory in the future! It’s for the rebirth of the Ancient God Church!”

Hearing about the rebirth of the Ancient God Church, Whisper’s restless heart stirred once more.

Yes, the future was a reborn Ancient God Church, an Ancient God Church that belonged entirely to him.

”But what you said still can’t make Song Zhong feel completely confident of victory, after all, the defense situation at the Zhaijie Institute is quite terrifying.”

Whisper pointed out the key issue. To attack the Zhaijie Institute, the Ancient God Church’s offensive strength was one aspect, but the Night Watcher’s defensive strength was also an important factor.

What if Song Zhong backed out because he was afraid of the opponent’s strength?

”So we still need a perfect plan, a perfect plan for Song Zhong,” Shen Qingzhu seemed to have anticipated Whisper’s question, ”As for the content of the plan, I’ll take care of it!”

Whisper looked at Shen Qingzhu, and after hearing his entire line of thought, he was stunned for a long time.

I really found a treasure, this guy’s heart is so devious, I like it!

Only now did Whisper experience what it felt like to be a leader; having a subordinate who plans everything out was truly comfortable!

What about his other followers?

There was the Snake Woman who had acted as a double agent before, the lazy Fifth Seat, the Ninth Seat He Lin who often slacked off, and the others who only knew how to fight and kill.

Could they compare to Shen Qingzhu? Not at all.

What he lacked under him was precisely this kind of talent.

Someone to consider the brain-racking things, and he only needed to listen to the plan and nod.

”Shen Qingzhu, I now appoint you as Special Follower Zero. From now on, you will only have a single line of contact with me. Besides my orders, you are not to concern yourself with anything else. Likewise, I will grant you the authority to allocate personnel and finances.”

Whisper said earnestly, ”Don’t worry, when the day comes that I grow old, you will be my successor!”

Shen Qingzhu controlled the twitching of his mouth. Be his successor? He had already sat on their throne.

However, he still had to put on a show. He quickly bowed to Whisper.

”Being able to share Lord Whisper’s worries is already Qingzhu’s supreme honor. Qingzhu truly dares not hope for anything else.”

Whisper looked at Shen Qingzhu, who seemed to know his place, and nodded with satisfaction.

”Don’t worry, I won’t treat you unfairly.”

With that, Whisper took off the ring on his hand and handed it to Shen Qingzhu.

”This is the [Nightmare Ring]. After you wear it, you will have three opportunities to enter the Nightmare Space. In this space, your Mental Energy will be greatly trained, and you can quickly improve your Realm.”

Whisper now valued Shen Qingzhu greatly, but his cultivation was only at the Chuan Realm, which was too weak.

In the Ancient God Church, high-risk missions were frequently carried out, and if he was too weak, he might just die one day.

”Thank you, Lord Whisper.” Shen Qingzhu took the ring and put it on his hand.

”The rest of the matters are entrusted to you.” After Whisper finished speaking, his figure disappeared from the bench.

The surrounding scenery returned to normal.

The sounds of children playing and parents chatting flowed back into Shen Qingzhu’s ears.

If it weren’t for the [Nightmare Ring] on his finger, Shen Qingzhu would almost have thought that everything that had just happened was a dream.

”Phew!”

Shen Qingzhu let out a long breath. He hadn’t expected Whisper to be even easier to fool than he had imagined!

Originally, he thought he would have to go through more trouble to gain Whisper’s trust, but he didn’t expect that a few compliments would make him so conceited.

This Whisper seemed like he hadn’t read much!

It seemed that ”praising others” really was a virtue.

...

In the Zhaijie Institute, Lin Qi Ye lay on his bed, looking at the ceiling.

His mind was still on the words the Master had told him earlier.

Of course, he wasn’t agonizing over whether or not to become the provisional captain of the Fifth Special Team.

He was thinking about something else.

Song Zhong had been upgraded to a Heaven-Grade wanted criminal.

A Heaven-Grade wanted criminal usually meant that this group of people was in an unending conflict with the Night Watcher.

For example, Yue Huai, Qian Mo, and Whisper of the Ancient God Church.

However, Lin Qi Ye recalled every bit of his acquaintance with Song Zhong.

Although this person’s actions were unpredictable, what he did didn’t seem to be entirely bad.

Especially in the Battle of Cangnan, no matter what, Indra and Loki were ultimately resolved by him.

Another point of doubt was that although his younger brother, A Jin, had his Divine Power stolen by Song Zhong, A Jin didn’t seem to hold any resentment towards Song Zhong.

At least when they met, A Jin didn’t even mention anything about his relationship with Song Zhong.

Although it couldn’t be ruled out that A Jin didn’t want to cause him trouble, their relationship seemed to be more complicated.

Coupled with Zhao Kongcheng’s appearance, Lin Qi Ye’s original prejudiced perception of Song Zhong changed.

If his previous belief and submission to Song Zhong were out of an urgent desire to rescue his family.

Then during his time in the Zhaijie Institute, after Lin Qi Ye calmed down and analyzed carefully, he found that his stance on Song Zhong began to blur.

Lin Qi Ye was not the kind of dogmatic person who saw things in black and white; he preferred the gray that represented Chaos.

He tossed and turned on the bed; that night, he suffered from insomnia.
