Zhan Shen: It’s Just a Sacrifice, How Can I Become a Villain?

68: A call from Xihong City! (Update 1/1 for Huan Yitian)The next day, the sun rose as usual.

Song Zhong stood in the guard room of the office building; Hong Hao had assigned him to answer the phone today.

He fell into deep thought as he watched the new recruits training on the parade ground.

My things should be almost ready!

The nylon woven bag and safety rope found in the warehouse, the large syringe borrowed from the infirmary, and the flat cart from the stairwell.

A bottle of high-proof niu er, and, the Northwest Small Gate sentry duty from 2 AM to 6 AM that he had arranged for himself tonight.

Originally, this shift was for another instructor, but Song Zhong had enthusiastically taken it over.

The instructor who was replaced didn’t think much of it, only feeling that Mu Dong, this young man, was not only powerful but also very simple and good at handling things—a truly rare good youth.

I hope nothing unexpected happens! Song Zhong silently prayed in his heart.

Ding-a-ling, ding-a-ling!

At this moment, the phone in the guard room suddenly rang.

Song Zhong picked up the phone, ”Hello! Hello, may I ask who this is?”

”Hello, is this the Cangnan Training Camp guard room? I am the captain of Xihong City’s Night Watcher Squad 280. My name is Old Mo!”

Song Zhong’s brows furrowed. Why would this guy call?

”Oh, Captain Mo, is it? May I ask what you need?”

”Hello, I’m looking for Training Camp Commander Commander Yuan Gang. Please help me relay a message: Old Mo would like to invite him to eat fish!”

”Okay, I will help you relay it. However, Chief Yuan is busy right now, so you’ll have to wait a moment.”

”Oh, haha, no rush, no rush. Please just help me relay the message, thank you!”

”You’re welcome!” Song Zhong hung up the phone.

He sighed, looking at the clock on the wall. It was 5:30 PM, and someone would be coming to take over soon.

After about forty minutes, an instructor who had just finished dinner came to the guard room.

”Instructor Mu Dong, hurry and eat! I’m here to take your shift. I heard you’re also on duty for the latter half of the night. You’re really working hard!”

After Song Zhong clearly saw who it was, he said with a smile, ”Haha, Instructor Du, it’s alright, it’s alright!”

”Young man, you have a future. By the way, is there anything that needs to be handed over?” Instructor Du asked.

”Oh, while I was on duty, I received a call from Captain Mo of Xihong City’s Night Watcher Squad 280. He said he wanted to speak with Commander Yuan Gang. I already reported it to Chief Yuan, but Chief Yuan was busy and couldn’t get away. He said he would call back personally when he had time.”

Song Zhong continued, ”If Captain Mo calls again later to inquire, just tell him that Chief Yuan already knows and will call back when he has time!”

Instructor Du nodded and gave an OK gesture!

...

The night at the Training Camp was cool.

Knock, knock, knock!

Song Zhong knocked on Wang Gui’s dorm room. Wang Gui opened the door, saw Mu Dong, and also noticed the bottle of niu er and a black bag in his hand, which likely contained snacks for drinking.

”Oh, you’ve come to drink with me so soon?”

Song Zhong nodded, ”I promised you, I wouldn’t dare forget!”

”Hahahaha, come in, come in, let’s have a good couple of drinks!”

Click!

Song Zhong closed the door, and at the same time, Wang Gui felt his body instantly lose control.

A look of terror appeared in his eyes. He wanted to speak, but his neck was firmly gripped by Song Zhong’s large hand.

Wuwuwu...

In just over ten seconds, Wang Gui was choked to death by Song Zhong, his breathing gone.

Song Zhong put Wang Gui into the nylon bag and then tied the opening tightly.

Then, he transformed into Wang Gui’s appearance, walked out of the room, and came to Wu Ruotong’s room.

Knock, knock, knock!

Wu Ruotong opened the door, and upon seeing Wang Gui, a trace of displeasure flashed across her face.

”Why are you looking for me?”

”Wang Gui” didn’t waste words, only saying, ”There’s a new directive!”

Wu Ruotong looked down the corridor, ”Come in quickly!”

The door closed, and the same scene played out again. Before Wu Ruotong died, her eyes were filled with confusion.

She couldn’t understand why her undercover comrade would kill her.

Soon, Li Yaoguang also became a corpse in a nylon bag.

After killing the three, Song Zhong dragged the three bags to the stairwell, then tied them together with a safety rope and placed them on the flat cart.

Song Zhong pushed the flat cart and walked out of the dorm building with great swagger.

The time was 1:40 AM. He pushed the flat cart to the small gate on the northwest side.

The instructor on duty was a little surprised to see Song Zhong.

”Mu Dong, it’s not even 2 AM yet, and you’re already here?”

”It’s my first time on guard duty, so I was afraid I’d be too slow and got up a bit earlier,” Song Zhong explained with a smile.

”Oh, oh, I see. But why are you pushing a flat cart?” The instructor pointed to the flat cart and the nylon bags on it.

”These are the trash cleared from our dorm building. I thought I’d just throw them into the garbage dump outside after my shift ends at 6 AM tomorrow!”

The instructor gave Song Zhong a thumbs-up, ”In this day and age, it’s rare to see young people who are so proactive. Mu Dong, I’ll treat you to a meal later!”

”Alright!” Song Zhong smiled and saw the instructor off.

After the person’s figure completely disappeared, Song Zhong directly hoisted the three nylon bags and vanished into the night.

...

At this moment, Yuan Gang was already sound asleep. Suddenly, his phone rang.

Drowsy, Yuan Gang picked up his phone and saw that it was Shao Pingge’s call.

”Hello! Captain, what’s up? Why are you calling me so late?”

Shao Pingge’s voice came from the other end of the phone, ”Commander Yuan Gang, you’re a busy man now, with a million things to do!”

Yuan Gang was a bit confused, ”Captain, why are you speaking so Yin and Yang?”

”I’m speaking Yin and Yang? You left Old Mo hanging all night, do you know that?”

”Old Mo?” Now Yuan Gang was even more confused, ”What’s the matter?”

”Are you truly unaware or feigning ignorance?” Shao Pingge said, ”He called your place this afternoon, and you don’t know?”

”Captain, I really don’t know! What did Old Mo want to see me about?”

”Never mind, I’ll give you a number. You call him back and talk to him. Although Old Mo has retired to the second line, he is someone who has contributed to the country. Be polite when you talk!”

After speaking, Shao Pingge hung up the phone and then sent Yuan Gang a number.

Yuan Gang received it and immediately dialed the number. As soon as it connected, the other side answered.

”Hello, is this Chief Yuan?”

”No, no, no, Old Mo, you can just call me Little Yuan. Just now, the Captain called me and said you had something?”

Old Mo on the other end was a bit strange, ”Don’t you know? I called this afternoon, and the instructor in the guard room said he had already reported it to you?”

Yuan Gang became even more confused, ”This, I really didn’t know!”

”Oh, oh, no problem, it’s actually nothing big. I just wanted to ask about my student, Mu Dong, how is he doing now?” Old Mo asked.

”Mu Dong? Haha, Old Mo, you’re quite something! Secretly taking such a good prospect as your student. You don’t know, he even forced the [Masquerade] Squad to retreat!”

Suddenly, Yuan Gang’s expression changed, ”Wait a minute, did you call this afternoon? The one on duty there this afternoon was Mu Dong!”

Old Mo’s face on the other end of the phone instantly changed. What exactly was happening now?
