I Just Wanted to Be a Galactic Hunter—Why Am I on the Wanted List?

Seeing that it was Daisy Wendy Benjamin, an acquaintance, who emerged from the spatial rift, the wariness on his person subsided somewhat.

Only after carefully sensing the other party’s state, confirming they were not a Security Bureau agent in disguise and harbored no obvious hostility towards him, did he voice his confusion with some puzzlement:

”How did you find me?”

Did you leave some kind of spatial coordinate or something on me...

Just as Loren’s words fell, he caught a whiff of a strong alcoholic odor wafting from the other person.

His brow furrowed, and he silently took a few steps back.

When did you pick up a drinking habit...

Meanwhile, Daisy Wendy Benjamin, her cheeks slightly flushed, walked out of the spatial rift and stared straight at Loren, as if wanting to see what changes he had undergone during this time...

Upon hearing Loren’s question, the flushed-cheek Daisy gave a faint smile to the person she had been longing to see before her, slowly explaining word by word:

”My new ability. Within a certain range, I can teleport to the side of the person I want to see...”After hearing Daisy Wendy’s explanation, Loren silently retrieved the Federation Coin from his chest and tossed it into the night sky...

A moment later.

After using the coin to confirm Daisy was telling the truth and that she indeed harbored no hostility towards him, he gave a slight nod, offering a rather fair assessment:

”A good ability. Congratulations.”

Good, you didn’t leave a spatial marker on me...

Seeing Loren resort to lie-detection methods with extreme caution, just like when they first met, the somewhat tipsy Daisy Wendy couldn’t help but laugh out loud.

”You’re still the same as before, so cautious. What a cute fellow...”

Loren ignored her comment, silently putting away the coin in his hand before replying:

”Habit.”

As a wanted criminal with an astronomical bounty, landing only to be immediately cornered by an exceptionally unique spatial-type psychic was a development that understandably made Loren much more cautious.

Fortunately, she really was just here to ”catch up”...

Daisy Wendy tilted her head, looking at Loren, giving him a thorough once-over.

After confirming Loren was in decent condition, she asked with a smile:

”What brings you back to the Jadeite Star Domain? My big-time wanted criminal.”

Having confirmed via the coin that she was only here to reminisce, Loren also retracted the black wings behind him, deactivating his combat stance.

”To take care of some business. Needs to be kept confidential.” Loren thought for a moment before giving his answer.

”Need any help? Mr. Loren, with the 60-billion bounty.”

”Probably not. It’s a small matter.” Loren declined rather tactfully.

Daisy Wendy didn’t seem surprised by Loren’s refusal, as if she had expected it, showing no unexpected emotion on her face.

Then, she abruptly changed the subject, steering the conversation in another direction.

”Alright, that’s true. Within the Jadeite Star Domain, aside from a few specific individuals, probably no one can threaten you anymore...”

”So, do you need a ride? My wanted criminal gentleman.”

Taking advantage of her slight inebriation, Daisy Wendy teased with a smile.

Hearing this, a smile of reunion with an old acquaintance finally appeared on Loren’s face.

He lightly adjusted the hat on his head and went along with it gracefully:

”It’s worth mentioning that your ability makes tonight’s reunion shine all the brighter, Lady Daisy.”

As is well known, Loren is mostly filled with goodwill towards a certain category of people.

For example, when facing various ”drivers” capable of transporting him from one place to another, Loren has always been remarkably amiable.

Seeing Loren’s reaction, Daisy Wendy, cheeks flushed with a touch of drunkenness, revealed a smile at the corner of her mouth.

You’re surprisingly easy to read, Mr. Loren...

Then, Daisy, a bit unsteady on her feet, walked over to Loren’s side, extending her slender hand, intending to place it on Loren’s shoulder.

At that moment, Loren, standing nearby, spoke up in a quiet, measured tone:

”Daisy, I think, if you’re trying to pretend to be drunk, that might not be a very good idea...”

Hearing this, Daisy subtly curled her lip.

Was I found out? What a presumptuous fellow...

”...Not drunk, how could I be drunk? I only had a few glasses!” Daisy said with a perfectly serious smile.

Meanwhile, Raven, who witnessed this entire scene from deep within Loren’s soul, shook its head with considerable melancholy at the interaction between the two.

The human race is far too complex...

Having her ploy seen through, Daisy Wendy didn’t continue pretending to be drunk either. She turned her head to ask Loren beside her, her tone relaxed:

”Where would you like to go, my wanted criminal gentleman?”

Loren hesitated for a moment.

”To the Jadeite Gambling City.”

Upon hearing Loren’s intended destination, Daisy Wendy’s face showed no surprise.

After all, in the past, among Loren’s activity traces within the Jadeite Star Domain, the place he frequented most was the casino...

She nodded calmly, extended her hand, placed it on Loren’s shoulder, and activated her ability.

A rather wide spatial rift unfolded before Loren and Daisy, wide enough for two people to pass through side by side.

With her hand on Loren’s shoulder, the two walked in side by side.

After entering the spatial rift, Loren looked around curiously at the surroundings.

This was his first time entering a psychic’s spatial rift, a rather novel experience.

After all, voluntarily walking into a spatial rift controlled by a spatial-type ability user is almost equivalent to entering their home turf in a fight.

If Loren didn’t have that resurrection opportunity on him, even he might not have chosen to walk in so readily...

Inside the spatial rift, the environment was dark everywhere, devoid of any light.

In this special environment, only spatial lightning and spatial turbulence occasionally emitted faint glimmers of light.

At that moment, looking at those spatial turbulences, Loren suddenly thought of a question.

”Daisy, when you create a spatial rift, why do you need to put your hand on my shoulder? It shouldn’t be necessary, right...”

Hearing this, Daisy beside him gave a mischievous grin. She withdrew her right hand from Loren’s shoulder, brought it to her nose, and took a deep sniff.

With a look of intoxication, she said, ”The scent!”

Loren’s face visibly darkened.

He felt violated...

”Hahaha, just kidding! The spatial passage needs to remember your aura to let you through.”

Daisy Wendy laughed heartily!

Seeing this, Loren’s expression finally improved somewhat, reluctantly accepting her explanation.

Indeed, the behavioral logic of heavy drinkers is always unpredictable...

”We’re here.”

Just as Loren was silently complaining in his heart, Daisy’s voice sounded calmly beside him.

Loren looked up.

Within the predominantly dark environment, a dazzling point of light suddenly appeared.
