I Just Wanted to Be a Galactic Hunter—Why Am I on the Wanted List?

Loren smiled and stored away the sapphire ring floating before him.

Then, he lowered his head to glance at his feet, elegantly tipping the hat on his head with a light touch, and spoke softly, ”Your physical constitution is quite impressive, falling from such a height without turning into a bloody mist...”

”It’s just a shame, you were only a little bit off, Mr. Lightning.” Your mental fortitude is far too weak, that simply won’t do, Mr. Lightning... Loren silently critiqued in his mind.

”Master, what do we do next?” Raven’s inquiry echoed in his consciousness.

Hearing this, Loren shrugged with utter nonchalance. ”It’s time to head to the Beastkin Star Domain. My intuition tells me Fortune has been pushing us toward that place all along...”

Loren quietly sensed the nine exquisitely crafted rings within his embrace, a smile appearing on his face. 9.78 million Spirit Stones, not a bad haul...

Perhaps a single Legendary powerhouse is poor, but nine Legendary powerhouses combined aren’t quite so destitute... Loren felt he had discovered a blind spot.

Next, after roughly calculating his current wealth in his mind, a relieved smile spread across Loren’s face... 2.02 million Spirit Stones, plus 9.78 million Spirit Stones, meant Loren now possessed 11.8 million Spirit Stones.

This was Loren’s current net worth!!

And this hadn’t even included the 7.5 million Spirit Stones from this assassination commission...11.8 million Spirit Stones, plus 7.5 million Spirit Stones, equaled 19.3 million Spirit Stones!!

Having already consumed 21.78 million Spirit Stones, Loren only needed to devour another 18.22 million Spirit Stones to gather the amount required to Advance to Legendary Rank!

If the Interstellar Hunter Association didn’t plan on reneging, Loren had already gathered the 40 million Spirit Stones!!!

Thinking of this!

The wings behind Loren fluttered gently!

His figure directly flew out of the deep pit he had created upon impact, arriving on the utterly devastated ground of the Lakeside Square!

Loren unleashed his Spiritual Power completely once more!

Under the sweeping scan of his immense Spiritual Power, everything within the vast square was laid bare in Loren’s perception!

After the scan, Loren nodded with considerable satisfaction. Indeed, all dead, no one playing possum...

Then, under Loren’s control, his Spiritual Power gathered the spatial storage devices worn on the corpses of those high-rank Superhumans scattered across the square!

With his Spiritual Power having grown once more, Loren could now accomplish such trivial tasks.

Dozens of ownerless spatial storage devices, under the control of Loren’s Spiritual Power, drifted toward his location.

He reached out and took these spatial devices, stuffing them into his embrace... This also caused all the pockets on his black coat to become completely filled, visibly bulging!

Although not a huge amount, it was still 690,000 Spirit Stones, not to mention the spatial devices themselves could be sold... After sensing the interiors of these dozens of spatial devices, Loren thought with considerable satisfaction.

A good haul!

12.49 million Spirit Stones! I, Loren! Am a billionaire!

After finishing looting the spoils of this battle, Loren slowly flew into the air above the Lakeside Square.

He gazed down at the corpse-strewn square below and softly snapped his fingers!

Loren retrieved his own black-and-gold Revolver from the ”Crimson Tear”.

He raised the revolver in his hand, aiming the muzzle at the corpses on the square below, silently adjusting the power of the Energy Bullets to maximum.

”Bang!”

...

After firing several shots in succession, Loren calmly stored away his revolver.

Several Energy Bullets, scattered apart, blasted into the ground of the square below!

After the violent explosions!

Endless flames ignited upon the square!

The fire consumed everything!

It also erased the traces of battle Loren had left behind...

Loren, positioned high above, watched the flames below with an inscrutable expression.

The light of the flames flickered across Loren’s face, alternating between light and shadow...

At this moment, Loren extended his right hand toward the raging flames below, lightly tipped his hat, and bowed his head slightly.

”I do not intend to mourn you, yet I still wish that Misfortune no longer favors you in the future...”

Three minutes later.

The flames on the square gradually died out.

Loren gave a slight nod, turned calmly, and flew away from the square...

He left behind a ground covered in ashes, the embers on the earth still warm.

--------

Federal Calendar 7708, December 1st, evening.

Loren, who had just flown out of the Lakeside Square, detected a somewhat familiar figure within his Spiritual Power perception.

Retab Collin was standing at a deserted street corner, looking up at Loren in the sky with a complex expression in his eyes.

The wings behind Loren moved gently.

He calmly descended beside Retab Collin.

Loren retracted the Black Wings behind his back and spoke calmly, ”I thought you would be waiting for me in the castle.”

In response, Retab Collin simply shook his head silently, pulled out a worn spatial ring from his embrace, and handed it to Loren beside him.

Loren raised his hand to take the ring, swept it with his Spiritual Power, nodded slightly, and silently stored it in his embrace.

This worn spatial ring contained a full 7.5 million Spirit Stones.

With the receipt of this assassination commission’s payment, Loren’s assets also reached 19.99 million Spirit Stones!

”To be honest, I thought you would end up on the wanted list during the first two commissions.”

”I didn’t expect you to choose to expose yourself in this commission.”

”Why, Mr. Loren?”

Retab Collin’s tone was flat, making it impossible to discern the meaning behind his words.

Loren lifted his head, gazing at the distant, dimming sunset.

The sunset over Radiant Flow Main City was still beautiful, just like in the Jadeite Star Domain...

After watching for a while, Loren spoke with an unreadable tone, ”This plastic white flower on my chest was a birthday gift from a girl two years older than me when I was seven.”

”She once hoped I would become a good person.”

”Unfortunately, I couldn’t become that kind of person...”

”Just as I was about to leave the Lakeside Square, I suddenly remembered something she said: Some people’s lives shouldn’t be toyed with at will; for them, merely surviving is already a struggle...”

The street corner fell quiet.

Neither of them spoke again...

A long time later, Retab Collin let out a deep sigh, shaking his head with a worried expression.

”After you became famous, the Energy Bureau sent people to Rotten Star to investigate your past.”

”That little girl didn’t appear in your dossier...”

”What was her outcome?”

Loren gazed at the gradually setting sun in the distance and spoke softly, ”Dead.”

Hearing Loren’s calm reply, the expression on Retab Collin’s face grew even more troubled.

At that moment.

The sunset in the sky also, with extreme coincidence, completely sank below the distant horizon.
