I Just Wanted to Be a Galactic Hunter—Why Am I on the Wanted List?

Just after weaving a perfect lie, Loren revealed a thoroughly satisfied smile upon seeing the inquiry message sent by the Security Bureau.

The other party had already taken the bait; now it was time to reel them in!

His fingers danced rapidly across the screen, continuing to spin a perfectly logical lie.

Often, the hardest lies to see through are those that mix truth with falsehood...

ALuckyPetKeeper: ”I don’t know!! If I could accurately predict the actions of the Gods, I’d be a God myself!!”

”The God of Deception intervened to cover up that conspiracy. What I could glean using divination magic was very limited; I could only see widespread devastation, the Federation teetering on the brink of collapse...”

”As for more detailed content, it was too blurry for me to see clearly...”

”That’s already my limit.”

”After all, I’m just an ordinary Mage, who just happened to be blessed by a God, who just happens to know a tiny bit of divination magic...”

”No need to worship me, I’m used to keeping a low profile... Hahahaha!”After typing this message, Loren closed his eyes and began reviewing his words for any loopholes.

A good while later.

Loren opened his eyes, a bright gleam flashing within them!

No obvious loopholes were found; this was a rather perfect trap...

Agents of the Security Bureau, I hope you can cause a little trouble for the Ferros Family...

And while you’re at it, help me see what trump cards the Ferros Family is really hiding...

Of course, it would be even better if the Security Bureau could help me complete Ms. Carnina’s second commission...

Just then.

Another reply from the Security Bureau appeared on Loren’s screen.

FederationSecurityBureauAlwaysHiring: ”@Fortune’s Breeder. Although you were a rather despicable person in the past, the you of today deserves respect.”

After sending this message, the Security Bureau’s account vanished from the forum, no longer replying to any messages...

On the Interstellar Hunter Forum.

Countless people watching this thread clicked the follow button on Loren’s account!

A Mage proficient in divination magic? Such Mages are not common!

No one doubted Loren’s words either. After all, being able to describe the underlying truth in such detail, as if having experienced it firsthand, could only be the work of a Mage specializing in divination magic!

And it must be a Mage blessed by a God at that!

Some even directly asked under Loren’s reply how many Spirit Stones it would cost for him to perform a single divination spell.

Loren chose to ignore all these replies.

Although both the Lucky Coin and Loren’s Ninth Ability could serve as divination magic, the issue was how to conduct transactions.

Most importantly, Loren didn’t want this account to be linked to his real-world self.

He had offended far too many people on the Interstellar Hunter Forum...

It wasn’t just the Security Bureau...

The Empire’s Military, the Federation Security Bureau, the Federation Energy Department, the Federation Military, and various Cult Organizations—Loren had provoked each of them more than once...

Strictly speaking, being an enemy to the entire world was pretty much the situation...

No longer paying attention to the constantly flashing messages on the forum, Loren placed the portable computer aside. Lying on the bed, he stretched comfortably and let out a contented sigh.

”Ah!”

What a perfect lie, Loren. You truly are an Interstellar Hunter brimming with wisdom... Loren couldn’t help but sigh with admiration in his heart.

At that moment.

Raven, located on the other side of the large bed, suddenly looked up and spoke to Loren with great seriousness:

”Master, after watching your entire process of fooling the Security Bureau, I suddenly remembered something.”

”Three months ago, you posted on the forum asking, ’Which star sector is suitable for a mid-rank Superhuman to settle in?’”

”According to the typical cultivation speed of Mages, it’s basically impossible to become a high-rank Mage in just three months, especially one specializing in divination...”

”This seems like a fatal loophole...”

Loren, lying on the large bed, froze!

...Crap, how could I forget that!

Loren turned his head somewhat mechanically towards Raven, forcing an air of calm as he said:

”Hypothetically, if a sixth-rank Mage were blessed by a God, they could become a high-rank Mage within three months, right?”

Raven tilted its head in thought for a moment, then nodded.

”Master, that logic holds up.”

”However, I still suggest you delete that post from three months ago, then frantically stack Fortune on yourself, and hope no one remembers that post from three months ago.”

After some consideration, Raven offered its suggestion.

Upon hearing this, Loren immediately sat up.

With lightning speed, he grabbed his portable computer, found the post he made three months ago, and resolutely deleted it!

After deleting the post, Loren began using his first ability, frantically stacking Fortune upon himself! He muttered incessantly under his breath:

”I hope no one discovers the loophole in my lie!”

Fortune! Show me your limits!!

Loren’s bizarre behavior only came to a stop half an hour later.

Lying on the large bed, gazing at the bedroom ceiling, he murmured softly:

”Forget it. If the Security Bureau people discover it’s a lie, then I’ll just have to personally destroy the Ferros Family myself...”

”It’ll just be a bit more troublesome, that’s all...”

”After all, the initial goal was just to mess with the Security Bureau. I just got carried away messing with them and ended up wanting to stir up something big!”

”This isn’t a good habit...”

After a while.

The sound of even breathing emanated from Loren as he lay on the large bed.

He had fallen into an extremely relaxed sleep.

Raven, on the other side of the large bed, shook its head disdainfully upon seeing Loren peacefully drift off to sleep.

”Idiot master...”

Then, it silently opened the ”Introduction to Elvish” it had found on the Federation network and began burying its head in study...

---------

Federal Calendar 7708, December 1st, morning.

Loren, sitting cross-legged on the large bed, awoke from his Meditation.

Raven, nearby, also closed the Elvish learning materials on the computer, grabbed its portable computer with a claw, and flew over to Loren’s side.

Loren reached out and took it. After putting away Raven’s portable computer, Loren got up from the bed and walked into the washroom.

After taking a hot shower in the washroom, a neatly dressed Loren, with Raven perched on his shoulder, calmly walked out the door of Room 105.

After four days of rest, Loren was itching to go complete that assassination commission.

Clearly, Loren quite enjoyed his work, occasionally accompanied by symptoms of mild addiction...
