Clan Rise: Starting as a Grandfather

Chapter 1797: Chapter 1090: The Return

”Yun Xi, would you like to stay here a few more days? Fellow Daoist Yun Xiao has gone out and is estimated to return only after some time!”

After chatting with Jing Shui for a while, Yang Zhenshan looked at Yun Xi again.

Yun Xi is Yun Xiao’s junior sister, but she is more like Yun Xiao’s disciple, personally taught by Yun Xiao.

”Is it possible?” Yun Xi asked somewhat excitedly.

In fact, the real reason she came this time was to seek refuge with Yun Xiao; to be precise, she always wanted to join Yun Xiao. Previously, Yun Xi was a Guest Elder of Hidden Sword Mountain, and she didn’t dare to openly break free from it. Yun Xiao also respected the face of Hidden Sword Mountain, thus did not allow Yun Xi to join the Yang family.

However, now Hidden Sword Mountain has abandoned the Sea of Spirit and Yun Xi’s position as Guest Elder, so Yun Xi reconsidered her plan.

”Of course, you can stay as long as you want!” Yang Zhenshan said with a smile.

”Alright, I’ll wait here for my senior brother to return!” Yun Xi said happily.

Then Yang Zhenshan started chatting with Lu Fusheng and Lan Peng. There was actually nothing much to talk about as there was a significant gap between them, no common topics to discuss anymore, except for reminiscing, which could not be stretched for too long.

After some casual conversation, Yang Zhenshan understood their purpose of coming here.

In fact, their intention was to discuss the future of the Sea of Spirit.

The Yang family abandoned its enterprises in the Sea of Spirit, even revoking the former Wuzhen Taoist Palace.

Hidden Sword Mountain also abandoned the Sea of Spirit. Now it is back under the control of the Xuanqing Sect and Illusion Moon Sect. But after all that happened, the Xuanqing Sect and Illusion Moon Sect dare not occupy the Sea of Spirit.

They still hope Hidden Sword Mountain can take charge of the Sea of Spirit, but if Hidden Sword Mountain can’t, the Yang family could.

Naturally, this is not because they like to submit to others but for the safety and stability of the Sea of Spirit.

The Wanhua Western Region is currently not peaceful, with continuous unrest among the forces surrounding the Yunxiao Mountain Range. They fear someone might covet the Sea of Spirit again, hence wishing to rely on a major power.

Unable to approach Hidden Sword Mountain, they turned their attention to the Yang family.

Listening to their needs, Yang Zhenshan fell into thought. He withdrew all hands from Spirit Source Land initially because the war situation between Unpredictable Ghost Sect and Wanhua Demon Court was unclear. The Unpredictable Ghost Sect was likely to launch an attack on the Yunxiao Mountain Range, hence he collected his forces to prevent being swept into the war again.

But now the war between Unpredictable Ghost Sect and Wanhua Demon Court has reached a stalemate. Although the Unpredictable Ghost Sect may return, it certainly won’t affect the Yunxiao Mountain Range in the short term, much less the Sea of Spirit.

However, now isn’t the time for Spirit Origin Land to act arrogantly; the war in the Wanhua Mountain Range will erupt again, with continuous disputes in the Wanhua Western Region. What Spirit Origin Land needs now is not to participate in those wars but to steadily acquire resources and peacefully enhance its strength.

Moreover, it’s unnecessary for Spirit Origin Land to reoccupy the Sea of Spirit. Although the Sea of Spirit has some low-level resources needed by Spirit Origin Land, those low-level resources aren’t worth much force and time investment.

After pondering for a while, Yang Zhenshan looked up at Master Jing Shui and said, ”Currently, my Yang family can’t settle in the Sea of Spirit. However, the Sea of Spirit can use the name of my Yang family for self-protection. Also, my Yang family will periodically send fleets to the Illusion Moon Sect and Xuanqing Sect to purchase various resources.”

The Illusion Moon Sect and Xuanqing Sect only require protection, not intervention from the Yang family, merely the protective name of the Yang family.

The Yang family’s current prestige is enough to deter the petty forces around the Sea of Spirit, and with the Yang family’s flag, not many would dare to cause trouble.

As for resource trading, it’s much simpler; the Yang family will not engage in business but maintain trade relations with the Xuanqing Sect and Illusion Moon Sect.

This way, the Yang family can save effort and resources.

”How do you find this?” Yang Zhenshan asked.

Master Jing Shui pondered for a moment and said, ”True Monarch willing to protect us is our honor, and we are willing to follow True Monarch’s decree!”

His intention was simple: as long as the Yang family hasn’t completely abandoned the Sea of Spirit, he doesn’t care much about the rest.

Actually, he too wished to join the Yang family, but his circumstances were somewhat special, and the Yang family might not need him.

Also, the Sea of Spirit is in a very special period now; he can’t abandon everything to join the Yang family.

In the end, he has strong feelings for the Illusion Moon Sect, unwilling to part with it.

Jing Shui and Yun Xiao are different—though Yun Xiao was also part of Xuanqing Sect, he was not valued there and even faced exclusion.

In contrast, while Illusion Moon Sect also guarded against Immortal cultivators, it respected Master Jing Shui and never stopped supporting Moon Mountain.

Thus, Jing Shui holds deeper feelings for the Illusion Moon Sect, unable to leave it, whereas Yun Xiao can let go of Xuanqing Sect and depart.

”That’s good! For specific matters, I will send someone to discuss with you in detail.” Yang Zhenshan said with a smile.

Afterward, Yang Zhenshan hosted a banquet for everyone, during which Lu Fusheng mentioned a matter—an emerging Spiritual Acupoint from the Lu family wishes to join the Yang family.

Yang Zhenshan cheerfully agreed, as more Spiritual Acupoints are undoubtedly better.
