Clan Rise: Starting as a Grandfather

Chapter 1291: Chapter 839: Framing and Slander (Part 2)

It is said that the Beishi family has had ancestors serving as elders in the Xuanqing Sect for generations, so it’s not an exaggeration to say that the Beishi family is a branch of the Xuanqing Sect’s outer sect.

”They’re trying to frame us!” Xuanzhen said.

Yang Zhenshan quickly grasped his meaning.

The goal of the Yin Ghost Department is to reignite the war between the Lingxiu Sects and Nether Prison Sect. They are unaware of the situation within the Ancient Relic Array, so they don’t think the Lingxiu Sects and Nether Prison Sect will go to war over the array again.

Therefore, they want to provoke war from another angle.

Framing seems like a strategy full of loopholes, but if their target is the Beishi family, this flawed strategy still has a high chance of succeeding.

Because the Beishi family’s relationship with the Xuanqing Sect is too close, if the Beishi family suffers significant casualties, the Xuanqing Sect will seek justice for the Beishi family, whether for face or for profit.

Perhaps the leaders of the Xuanqing Sect will act against the Nether Prison Sect in a fit of anger.

Yang Zhenshan pondered for a moment and then asked, ”What are your thoughts?”

”What thoughts could I have? I’m not in control right now; whatever Mo Xuanyu instructs me to do, I’ll do. The life and death of the Beishi family have nothing to do with me!” Xuanzhen replied irritably.

”I’m telling you this to see if this matter affects you in any way.”

Yang Zhenshan shook his head and said, ”I also have no relation to the Beishi family, but I do have a junior in the Xuanqing Sect! However, he’s just an outer sect disciple, so this doesn’t have much to do with him either.”

”As for the war between the Nether Prison Sect and the Lingxiu Sects, alas, it’s unavoidable!”

”Why?” Xuanzhen asked.

Yang Zhenshan glanced at him, thought for a moment, and decided not to hide anything from Xuanzhen, saying, ”Because I’ve already emptied the Ancient Relic Array. If people from the Nether Prison Sect and the Lingxiu Sects enter the array, a conflict will surely erupt due to the situation inside.”

The Nether Prison Sect put in so much effort to gain access to the Ancient Relic Array, only to find nothing but desolation inside. How could they not be infuriated by this?

And he and Xuanzhen are old acquaintances; he understands Xuanzhen, knowing he’s a petty-minded old priest. If the Unpredictable Ghost Sect dared to cross him, he’d surely be constantly contemplating how to send them to their doom.

Of course, Xuanzhen isn’t a heartless person; he actually values loyalty greatly, but most of the time, he acts as if it’s none of his business, keeping himself aloof.

”Emptied? What do you mean?” Xuanzhen asked, puzzled. He couldn’t understand what Yang Zhenshan meant by emptied—how could one empty the Ancient Relic Array?

”It’s exactly as it sounds. Now, apart from the indestructible Transmission Hall and mineral veins, everything useful in the Ancient Relic Array has been taken by me!” Yang Zhenshan explained.

Xuanzhen looked at Yang Zhenshan with his mouth agape, in disbelief.

”How did you manage that?”

”Haha, that’s a secret. I’ll tell you once you free yourself from the control of the Unpredictable Ghost Sect!” Yang Zhenshan laughed.

Xuanzhen was very curious, but he understood what Yang Zhenshan meant.

Without freeing himself from the control of the Unpredictable Ghost Sect, Yang Zhenshan couldn’t fully trust him, which Xuanzhen understood, causing him to hate the Unpredictable Ghost Sect even more.

He stopped inquiring about the Ancient Relic Array and instead asked, ”What’s your next plan, should we trap the Unpredictable Ghost Sect somehow, ideally killing Mo Xuanyu!”

He was constantly preoccupied with how to deal with Mo Xuanyu.

”What is Mo Xuanyu’s strength like?” Yang Zhenshan asked.

Xuanzhen thought for a moment and said, ”His cultivation is at the mid-stage Foundation Establishment, but he practices an evil cultivation technique from the Unpredictable Ghost Sect, with many strange methods, making it not easy to take him down!”

”Then there’s no rush to act, to avoid alerting the enemy!” Yang Zhenshan shook his head slightly.

Even though he had many methods now, among the many early-stage Foundation Establishment cultivators, his strength was middling at best. Against ordinary early-stage Foundation Establishment cultivators, he could barely manage, but against the crafty Mo Xuanyu, his strength was somewhat lacking.

”Right now, they’re in the shadows, and so are we. We either don’t make a move, or we strike with a killing blow!”

”Alright, I’ll endure a bit longer,” Xuanzhen took a deep breath, suppressing the agitation in his heart. ”Damn it, endure and endure, I hate enduring the most!”

While others believe patience leads to a calm sea and vast sky, for Xuanzhen, patience means a disturbed Dao heart and growing anger.

Yang Zhenshan knew his temperament and laughed, ”Hehe, although we can’t make a move now, there are others who can!”

”Just watch the show unfold!”

”Alright, I’ll wait for your show!” Xuanzhen felt much more relieved.

”Just wait!”

Yang Zhenshan left these words as he withdrew his consciousness.

Since Mo Xuanyu wants to frame others, why can’t he go with the flow and frame someone else, too?

Mo Xuanyu wants to start a war between the Lingxiu Sects and the Nether Prison Sect, so why can’t he ignite a conflict between the Lingxxiu Sects, the Nether Prison Sect, and the Unpredictable Ghost Sect?

The only power of the Unpredictable Ghost Sect here is the Yin Ghost Department, which, although powerful, isn’t strong enough to deter the Lingxiu Sects and the Nether Prison Sect.

Otherwise, Mo Xuanyu wouldn’t be hiding in the shadows, stirring up trouble.

Exposing the Unpredictable Ghost Sect to the Lingxiu Sects and the Nether Prison Sect would surely cause them to unite against the sect.

As his consciousness returned, Yang Zhenshan mulled over the situation once more before his figure flickered, arriving at his warehouse to search through his things.

”I remember keeping that thing aside!”

He rummaged through boxes and chests in his cluttered warehouse and finally found a black token.

A Soul-breaking Blade token!

This was what he obtained when he killed an Immortal Cultivator of Soul-breaking Blade back in Snow Valley Town.

At that time, he destroyed most of the Immortal Cultivator’s belongings, leaving only a few harmless items, one of which was this token.

The token bore a restriction, likely for identity verification or something similar.

”Haha, we can frame, too!”

Yang Zhenshan chuckled while holding the token.

Then he went to the Clan Hall, found Yang Chengmao, and handed him the token, saying, ”Go and place this in the Transmission Hall within the array.”

Who emptied the Ancient Relic Array?

If this question were put in front of Yue Qing, Yue Qing would likely suspect Yang Zhenshan.

After all, Yang Zhenshan had boasted in front of her, talking nonsense about White Jade City and such.

Among the forces around the Sea of Spirit, the only one capable of emptying the Ancient Relic Array was the mysterious White Jade City mentioned by Yang Zhenshan.

Yang Zhenshan had already considered this. Initially, he planned to tacitly admit to Yue Qing if she questioned him, establishing a strong image of White Jade City in her mind.

But now, he changed his mind and decided to frame Soul-breaking Blade, or rather, the Unpredictable Ghost Sect.

A single token might not be enough to successfully frame them, but what if a few members of Soul-breaking Blade were involved, too?
