Clan Rise: Starting as a Grandfather

Chapter 1274: Chapter 829: The Ji Family’s Scheming (Part 2)

”Then there’s no need to raise the price!” Yang Zhenshan said with a smile, ”Not only should we not raise the price, but we should reduce it!”

”Reduce the price?” Yang Chengmao showed a puzzled expression.

Yang Zhenshan nodded slightly, ”Currently, our Spirit Source Land’s productivity is too high. Just look at the things piled up in the warehouse.”

Spirit Source Land now only has a population of about ten thousand people. How large a market can such a small population support?

Mainly, the people in Spirit Source Land are martial artists who become martial artists at sixteen, reach Post-heaven at twenty, and Innate at thirty-five or thirty-six.

This has already become the most normal cultivation progress in Spirit Source Land.

When martial artists work, they naturally can’t be compared to ordinary people.

If ordinary people cultivate meticulously, ten acres of land could exhaust them.

But a martial artist can easily cultivate twenty or thirty acres alone.

Therefore, Spirit Source Land is now experiencing a case of overproduction.

Solely relying on internal sales cannot possibly consume so many resources, so Spirit Source Land needs to export outward.

The snow silkworm silk, without a doubt, is a very good commodity.

If a good sales channel can be established, the silkworm rearing and textile industries would become pillar industries in Spirit Source Land.

Primarily, these two industries can provide a large number of jobs for Spirit Source Land.

Yang Zhenshan also has to consider the livelihood of Spirit Source Land; though life there is safe and secure, to reach higher realms still requires hard work.

The cultivation salary from the Clan Hall can only guarantee the basic needs for cultivation, and gaining more resources still depends on oneself.

Therefore, the Clan Hall must provide enough jobs for people to have avenues to acquire more resources and must open up paths for ascension.

”Lowering the price is to sell more products; we not only have to see the reaction from external markets but also look at our internal productivity! It’s best to achieve a balance between production and sales!”

”Now we can expand the scale of foreign trade. Snow Valley Town shouldn’t limit the sale to tobacco, alcohol, and tea; all kinds of merchandise can be sold.”

”By the way, how has the Ji family been these years?”

Yang Zhenshan asked.

For years, the business over at Snow Valley Town has been restricted to tobacco, alcohol, and tea, with some materials from mutant beasts and medicinal herbs from the Yunxiao Mountain Range being purchased.

But now it is no longer necessary, with Illusion Moon Sect as a partner, Spirit Source Land can definitely make bigger strides.

”The Ji family!” Yang Chengmao thought for a moment, then took out a dossier from the bookshelf beside him.

”The Ji family seems to have been somewhat dishonest these past two years! They have repeatedly asked us to lower the price, but we denied them all!”

”Moreover, the Secret Martial Guards have found many voices within the Ji family against us!”

Yang Zhenshan raised an eyebrow, ”What kind of voices?”

”Ha, they want to put pressure on us in Snow Valley Town, forcing us to sell spiritual wine at reduced prices!” Yang Chengmao said with a laugh.

Yang Zhenshan chuckled, ”It seems the Ji family’s strength has considerably improved these past few years, or they wouldn’t have such thoughts!”

”Naturally, according to information from the Secret Martial Guards, the Ji family now possesses four warriors at the Heavenly Gang Stage, and they’ve already begun to control the Cold Cloud Sect,” Yang Chengmao said.

Yang Zhenshan wasn’t surprised by this, given that the Ji family’s strength gain with extensive spiritual wine support was expected.

Once the Ji family’s strength increases, they will naturally further control the Cold Cloud Sect.

”What is Ji Linfeng’s attitude?” Yang Zhenshan asked.

”Ji Linfeng has been in seclusion for years, with Ji De’an managing the family, but Ji De’an seems to lack enough prestige to suppress the voices within the family,” Yang Chengmao replied.

Yang Zhenshan shook his head slightly, ”Seclusion, this is just Ji Linfeng’s probing.”

Behind this matter, there must be Ji Linfeng’s indication; otherwise, the Ji family would not act like this.

”Should we terminate our cooperation with the Ji family?” Yang Chengmao asked.

”No need, just issue a warning and continue the cooperation,” Yang Zhenshan denied.

Terminating the cooperation with the Ji family would not benefit Spirit Source Land at all; on the contrary, maintaining cooperation provides Spirit Source Land with a consistent flow of spirit stones.

Though the Ji family is only a martial arts family, their industry spans several martial cultivator workshops, making them a valuable partner for Spirit Source Land.

As for the little schemes of the Ji family, they are not worth paying attention to. As long as Spirit Source Land exhibits enough strength, those little schemes will vanish instantly.

...

Snow Valley Town, the Yang family winery’s backyard.

Under the guidance of an attendant, Ji Linfeng and Ji De’an arrived beside the stables in the courtyard.

”Haha, I am Yang Mingzhi, greetings Ji Senior, Brother Ji!”

Yang Mingzhi, who was brushing the horses, put down the brush when he saw them, warmly greeting them.

Ji Linfeng and Ji De’an hurriedly returned the greeting, ”Greetings, Manager Yang!”

Yang Minghao smiled, ”As you can see, I’m busy and haven’t had the chance to properly host the seniors!”

Ji Linfeng stared at Yang Mingzhi, feeling uneasy.

What does this mean?

Clearly, it was you who invited us, and now you’re saying you don’t have time to entertain us?

But outwardly, he remained calm and said, ”It’s fine, Manager Yang, please continue!”

Yang Mingzhi smiled, picked up the brush again, and continued grooming the horse.

”Does Senior Ji recognize this horse?”

He asked as if casually chatting.

”No, I don’t!” Ji Linfeng shook his head.

”This horse is called Red Cloud Horse, a mutant beast unique to our Yang family. Though the Red Cloud Horse is the lowest grade of mutant beast, it has many advantages.”

”The Red Cloud Horse is gentle in nature, capable of flight, good at carrying loads. While it’s not as powerful as other mutant beasts, it can serve as a mount for travel,” Yang Mingzhi said.

Ji Linfeng was filled with doubt but nodded on the surface, ”Indeed, this horse is quite nice.”

Yang Mingzhi glanced at him, smiling, ”If Senior likes it, I can gift you one!”

”That wouldn’t be appropriate!” Ji Linfeng exclaimed in surprise.

The price difference among first-order mutant beasts is vast, with cheaper ones costing only a few dozen spirit stones, while those with strong combat abilities cost over a thousand spirit stones.

Though the Red Cloud Horse isn’t considered a strong mutant beast, pacified beasts like it are very rare and should be valued at around two hundred spirit stones.

Yang Zhenshan set the price for the Red Cloud Horse at one hundred eighty spirit stones.

While two hundred spirit stones may not be a lot, the unease-ridden Ji Linfeng felt an odd atmosphere.

He felt guilty, naturally feeling uneasy when facing Yang Mingzhi.

Especially when Yang Mingzhi was offering him a horse for no apparent reason.

Seeing his discomfort, Yang Mingzhi smiled and called toward the guest room next to them, ”Old Luo!”

The guest room door opened, and Luo Jingsong and Wu Zhan walked out one after another.

”Second Young Master, what can I do for you?” Luo Jingsong asked nonchalantly.

”Help me fetch the supply list!” Yang Mingzhi said.
