Clan Rise: Starting as a Grandfather

Chapter 1257: Chapter 822: Auction (Part 2)

As for why they need a silent auction, firstly it’s to prevent someone from exercising dominance, avoiding the Loose Cultivators from daring to bid when facing the six Immortal Cultivation Families of the Qingli Dynasty. Secondly, it is to protect the guests’ privacy; during the auction event, they will do their best to provide protection for the guests, including but not limited to hiding the guests’ identities.

Once they leave the venue of the auction, it is no longer their responsibility.

The invitation letter includes the auction items for the public auction, but does not specify the items for the silent auction.

Yang Zhenshan is very curious about the items for the silent auction by White Cloud Commerce this time.

He has heard that the finale auction items at White Cloud Commerce’s auctions are often extremely rare and valuable.

After approximately two additional periods, all positions on the first floor were filled.

There are no private rooms on the first floor, so everyone wears a bamboo hat, which is a Magic Artifact, capable of well concealing aura and appearance.

Yang Zhenshan tried it out and found that even his Spiritual Sense could not penetrate this bamboo hat.

”How truly fascinating!” Yang Zhenshan marveled.

After a moment, a slightly plump man wearing a white ceremonial robe stepped onto the auction platform. This man’s eyes bore crow’s feet at the edges, and his smile appeared exceptionally kind, yet his eyes were extraordinarily deep, and wherever his gaze fell, one could feel a faint pressure.

”A Great Cultivator in the late-stage Foundation Establishment!” Yang Zhenshan’s expression became stern as he calmly said.

Yu Qingyi also had an earnest expression.

There was a slight commotion in the first-floor venue, with many whispering to each other.

After listening to a few snippets, Yang Zhenshan confirmed this person’s identity.

The thirty-eighth Disciple of White Cloud True Monarch, Master Yun Ge.

Golden Core Cultivators may be called True Monarchs, while Foundation Establishment Cultivators may be called True Men.

And it is said that White Cloud True Monarch has fifty-two disciples, but presently only twelve disciples are living, and among these, Master Yun Ge ranks among the top three.

Golden Core Cultivators live for three thousand years, sufficient to be called eternal, but Foundation Establishment Cultivators have only three hundred years of lifespan, so White Cloud True Monarch quite easily outlasted dozens of disciples.

”Thank you all fellow Taoists for coming. I shall not say any more unnecessary words, hehe, this auction now begins!”

Master Yun Ge’s warm laughter spread throughout the venue, bringing about a feeling of soft spring breeze.

”The first auction item, the top-grade Flying Artifact: Jade Cloud Boat! Hehe, indeed, this Magic Artifact was refined by myself. I originally wished to refine it into a Magical Treasure, but due to lack of skill, I only managed to create a top-grade Magic Artifact!”

”The Jade Cloud Boat has twelve First-order Arrays, including the Floating Array, Riding the Wind Array, Protective Array, etc., allowing it to protect its user, fly evasively, and travel long distances, although it is not categorized as a Magical Treasure, it is infinitely close!”

”Starting price is two thousand low-grade Spirit Stones, with each bid increment being no less than fifty Spirit Stones. Everyone, please place your bids!”

This first auction item is to warm up the atmosphere; naturally, they wouldn’t use something cheap to fool people.

The Jade Cloud Boat is a small flying boat, able to carry over ten people, driven either by Mana or Spirit Stones as energy.

Yang Zhenshan had previously seen flying boats; the Xuanqing Sect has a large Second-Order flying boat named Glaze Cloud Boat, able to carry thousands.

The Jade Cloud Boat before him cannot compare to Xuanqing Sect’s Glaze Cloud Boat, but still sparked Yang Zhenshan’s interest.

”Two thousand five hundred Spirit Stones!”

”Two thousand six!”

”Two thousand eight!”

”Three thousand!”

...

As soon as Master Yun Ge finished speaking, bidding voices arose from the private rooms on the second floor.

Not the first floor, but the second.

This type of Magic Artifact is considered a luxury for Qi Refining Cultivators. Those truly able to afford such Magic Artifacts either have substantial backgrounds or are Foundation Establishment Cultivators.

Among second-floor private room guests, naturally, the Qingli dynasty’s six major Families are leading, with others being like Yang Zhenshan, a major customer having spent tens of thousands of Spirit Stones at Feather Tower.

As for first-floor guests, they received not invitation letters, but invitation cards. Generally speaking, Feather Tower would send invitation cards to all Cultivators in Lotus Heart Valley with some financial ability, but if outsiders want an invitation letter, purchasing at Feather Tower is the only way.

Listening to the surrounding bids, Yang Zhenshan asked Yu Qingyi, ”What do you think is a suitable number of Spirit Stones?”

Yu Qingyi gave him a sideways glance, ”How would I know?”

Yang Zhenshan laughed heartily and directly raised the bid by five hundred, shouting, ”Four thousand!”

He indeed quite liked this Jade Cloud Boat, though it was just a top-grade Magic Artifact, Yang Zhenshan didn’t have many usable Magic Artifacts.

As for whether the Jade Cloud Boat was worth four thousand Spirit Stones, the answer was affirmative.

Typically, prices for top-grade Magic Artifacts are usually several thousand Spirit Stones, and for particularly practical ones like the Jade Cloud Boat, the price can even reach six or seven thousand Spirit Stones.

Sure enough, right after Yang Zhenshan announced his bid, it was drowned in a sea of bids.

”Four thousand five!”

”Five thousand!”

”Six thousand!”

Yang Zhenshan bid again.

The number of bidders significantly decreased this time.

Yet still, some bid: ”Six thousand five!”

”Seven thousand!” Yang Zhenshan glanced toward the first private room.

The first private room likely belonged to the Lin family, the royal family of the Qingli Dynasty.

”Alright, the honored guest from private room eighteen bids seven thousand, is there anyone higher?”

”Hehe, this Magic Artifact was refined by myself, so I assure you it is truly an outstanding piece among top-grade Magic Artifacts!”

”Everyone, my reputation is trustworthy!”

Master Yun Ge unexpectedly began selling shamelessly, causing Yang Zhenshan’s lips to twitch slightly. This fellow couldn’t deliver the hammer cleanly and quickly.
