Journey of the Fate Destroying Emperor

Chapter 1672: Odd Meeting

[AN: Unedited Chapter]

Qiyuan’s clone analyzed all the information he just received. A part of him wanted to partake in this event to finally confront the Trinity Venerable. However, after brief thought, the chances of that happening are slim. Firstly, Maitreya will need someone to keep watch on the world’s situation, and she will not trust anyone else other than him. Secondly, the power gap is too wide, so there is little he can do now.

’However, I can count on Wang Wei to gather some information,’ Qiyuan analyzed. Since he will not be involved in that event whatsoever, he focused on the ramifications. ’Forget about the issue of the Infinite Divine Court, as soon as Maitreya leaves, the underlying issue of the world that she has been suppressing will erupt.’

The demon race still wanted to eliminate the Innate Demon Gods, the Dao Opening Sect and the Grand Sect Alliance were still enemies, the internal contradiction between Old Man Black Chess and the Water Immortal over the alliance with the Divine Faith Haven is still brewing, and Ying Zheng had been too quiet. All these issues will most likely erupt as soon as she leaves.

’I can use the chaos to my advantage, but I also need to take the bigger picture into account,’ Qiyuan analyzed. He waved his hand to condense a communication array, and a few seconds later, a projection manifested in front of him.

”Wu Hong, how is it going?”

”No matter how much you rush me, I can’t do anything about the Puppet Queen.”

”That’s not what I contacted you.”

”Oh? Did something happen?”

”I want to know the progress of the Heaven Deception Array,” Qiyuan asked.

”Why are you asking? Are you planning something?”

”No. I was thinking whether Ma Liquiu could use it to accelerate her work?”

Wu Hong gave him a knowing glance; she did not believe his words. ”I’m currently busy multitasking many projects, so it will probably be done in about 1000 Yuan Epoch.”

”Can you be faster?”

”Give me more world source, and I’ll have it done in half the time.”

”Done,” Qiyuan said. As one of the two people who can override Wang Wei’s orders, he rarely exercises this power. But in this case, Qiyuan felt it was warranted. The infiltration of the Black Dimension was key to a successful campaign against the Infinite Divine Court.

”I’ll be waiting.”

”Hold on,” Qiyuan said. ”I haven’t had your food in a while.”

”You’re in luck. I recently made Qilin Blood Soup and Rainbow Noodles. Send me a bottle of your finest Origin wine, and the food is yours.”

”No problem,” Qiyuan said with shining eyes. Soup and noodles were his favorite type of food, and he had only tasted one dish that was better than Wu Hong’s. So, he did not hesitate to give her one of his oldest bottles of wine in exchange for the food. Afterward, he communicated with Ma Liquiu on how she could use the Heaven Deception Array for her mission.

Divine War Post:

Fan Leiwei retrieved a talisman from the Eternal Time Gate and read the content. He frowned before teleporting to Wan Yanmei’s side. ”The first test has failed. You’ve been ordered to increase the intensity of your actions.”

”Where is the order?” she asked, and Fan Leiwei handed the talisman. The information she received as a commander was more detailed than that of a Department Leader, such as Fan Leiwei. She knew about the leak of information and the possible counterattacks on their military bases. She also understood that her orders to accelerate the war were to increase the pressure on this front of the battle, thus reducing the amount of reinforcements the primordial timeline could have for a counterattack.

”Gather everybody,” Wan Yanmei ordered. After a long discussion with all the strategists, Wan Yanmei devised a bold plan of action. Then, under her orders, the soldiers and logistics were deployed. A portal materialized near the protective shield of the Eternal Ascension World, and countless weapon refiners, array masters, and rune engravers began building a military outpost right in front of everybody’s eyes. The plan was so obvious and blatant that it made Qiyuan suspicious. As such, he was somewhat restrained in his approach to stop her.

...

Under normal circumstances, Wang Wei’s avatar could have used the sect’s transmission array to teleport to a world close to the Pure Inferno World. Still, the activation of the Hong Protective System rendered that impossible. So, the avatar selected a navigation boat from the sect’s treasury and entered Primordial Chaos to head to the Pure Inferno World. He has sent numerous avatars through Primordial Chaos, but every time he enters this place, he is still somewhat in awe of this beauty and infinite nature. The endless dark purple might be still dull to the lesser mind, but he saw the terror, the scale, the power, and the underlying beauty.

Wang Wei’s journey was mostly peaceful. The boat was a top-tier artifact that used the River of Time to navigate through primordial chaos. It also contained countless attack and defensive arrays, which became useful when a few mindless creatures attacked. Wang Wei thought this would be a peaceful journey, but midway through his journey, he sensed an anomaly.

At first, Wang Wei thought he was wrong, but after using a detection skill, he realized an invisible formation was hiding something. ”Is it a treasure?” Wang Wei muttered, thinking he was about to have a fortunate encounter. However, after calculating his luck, he realized this was not the case.

’Maybe a valuable secret?’ The array was well-created, meaning it will either take some time and effort to break or he’ll have to use something precious, so he didn’t want to waste his time on something useless. However, his divination revealed it was not some kind of great secret of Heaven and Earth.

’Alright, let’s leave it alone,’ Wang Wei decided. However, he immediately sensed something: whatever was behind this formation had a connection to him. The odd thing is, there were no karmic threads. ’Odd.’ Intrigued, he decided to take a look. It took him a while to find all the nodes of the formation and break them simultaneously; this was the best approach since formations of that level had their own self-repairing capabilities.

The veil was lifted, and what happened surprised Wang Wei. Nine enormous creatures were in the midst of an intense battle, with seven of them fighting two. ’Fiendgods?’ This was a strange discovery, so he observed. Eight of the Fiendgods were Double Cultivators, and only one was a pure body refiner.

’Seven progressives are fighting a team composed of a traditionalist and a progressive,’ Wang Wei commented. He’s read about the current situation of the Fiendgod, so he immediately saw how odd this group was. ’More importantly, why does that traditionalist have such a unique Primordial Law?’

’Damn it,’ Bohui cursed after seeing someone break his formation. ’Without the formation, these bastards will alarm others of their location. Not to mention the possible threat from this newcomer. ’I have no choice but to end this as soon as possible.’

Bohui activated a Blood Talisman. There were no visible signs, but an unknown power emanated from his blood, and it enveloped the attackers. These fiendgods did not have the time to react when the Primal Ultimate Skill that the elders stored in Bohui’s blood evaporated them. The first thing Bohui did afterward was not focus on Wang Wei, but look at Paragon Nine Heaven.

’Don’t worry. I understand you did what you had to,’ she communicated through divine sense. Although logically, she expected her people to try to kill Bohui, a part of her hoped they were more open-minded and would not choose such a selfish decision. She sighed deeply before controlling her emotions.

’What should we do with that human? Do you want to attack him?’

’No. He gives me a terrifying feeling, so let’s see what he does first,’ Bohui replied.

’I thought I was the only one,’ Nine Heaven sighed in relief. The two transformed into the Dao-shaped before slowly approaching Wang Wei; they kept a good distance, but they still cupped their hands to salute. ”Fellow Daoist, I am Bohui, the Enlightened Warrior, the young leader of the Flame Tribe, and descendant of the Primordial House. Is there anything we can do for you?” Bohui asked.

”And I am Paragon Nine Heaven, descendant of the Primordial House and direct disciple of Primal Sky Piercer.”

”What a strange team,” Wang Wei commented.

’No reaction to our backgrounds,’ Bohui analyzed, feeling a bit more tension. This man is either stupid and does not understand these words, or he’s still fearless despite knowing their implications.

Wang Wei glanced at Bohui. ”A Fiendgod who chose a name that highlights his intelligence instead of strength, courage, or achievement. How odd.”

”It’s not odd,” Bohui explained. ”Our clan has gained a reputation for strength above wisdom, but that is far from the truth.”

”If you say so,” Wang Wei replied. No point in time has the Fiendgods ever emphasized intelligence or wisdom. Their innate strength meant they never needed to — until they competed with humans. But even then, they didn’t change much, which is probably one of the reasons they essentially lost the Innate-Acquired War.
