Divine Level Witch Doctor

By the time Zhao Yuan finished washing up, the Bone Woman had also gotten dressed.

The men’s clothes didn’t look out of place on the Bone Woman; instead, they accentuated her martial air. She exuded a majestic, iron-willed aura that made her seem incredibly dominant—even more so than an overbearing CEO!

Zhao Yuan was certain that if he took a picture of the Bone Woman at this moment and posted it online, she’d have countless girls crying out for their ”Queen” or ”Hubby.”

”Not bad.” Zhao Yuan nodded, quite pleased with the Bone Woman’s new look. But he couldn’t resist asking, ”Is this what you looked like when you were alive?”

The Bone Woman shook her head. ”I don’t know. When I was painting the skin, this image appeared in my sea of consciousness, and I felt compelled to recreate it.”

”So that’s how it is.” Zhao Yuan had a moment of realization.

He figured this must have been what the Bone Woman looked like in life. Otherwise, how could the image have persisted in her sea of consciousness, remembered for four or five hundred years?

Looking the Bone Woman up and down, Zhao Yuan couldn’t help but sigh to himself. ’She must have been very beautiful when she was alive.’ Recalling her past as a Female Warrior, he imagined her on a fine steed, clad in armor, charging into the enemy Array with a Long Spear and a sharp blade to behead the general and win the battle. ’What a truly gallant and heroic figure she must have been!’

It was a pity she was born in the wrong era, only to die full of despair. Her unresolved resentment and rage turned her into a Demon.

A truly pitiful soul!

After a moment of reflection, Zhao Yuan retrieved a Wakizashi from his Storage Ring Space and handed it to the Bone Woman. ”Use this Wakizashi for now. When we get back, I’ll forge a weapon specifically for you.”

”Thank you for this gift, Master!” The Bone Woman knelt on one knee, raising her hands high above her head to carefully accept the Wakizashi from Zhao Yuan.

He had to admit, her deferential attitude was deeply satisfying, and Zhao Yuan was no exception.

Once the Bone Woman had the Wakizashi secured at her side, Zhao Yuan looked her over again and nodded in satisfaction. ”Good. There are no visible flaws. Even your Death Qi and Demon Qi are completely contained by this skin. It’s impossible to tell if you’re human or a Demon at a glance.”

The only thing that surprised Zhao Yuan was her skin.

He couldn’t tell if it was poorly painted or intentional, but the Bone Woman’s skin was incredibly white. It wasn’t a sickly pallor, however; it was more like the finest White Jade, delicate and alluring.

Recalling the name he had given her, Chikuzen Hakumei Rihachiro, Zhao Yuan dismissed the idea of having her change it. ’Let’s just leave it. Chikuzen Hakumei Rihachiro... If your skin weren’t white, how could you be called Bai Mei?’

Just as he was muttering to himself, the doorbell rang, followed by Hao Li’s shouting. ”Little Brother Zhao, you up? It’s time to go!”

Without waiting for Zhao Yuan’s command, the Bone Woman went to open the door.

Seeing a beautiful woman at the door, Hao Li froze and said instinctively, ”Sorry, wrong room.”

He glanced at the room number and froze again. ”Wait, the number’s right... What’s going on? It’s only been one night. How did Little Brother Zhao turn into a woman?”

Ying Ji, who was standing beside him, smacked him on the back of the head and snapped, ”Are you an idiot? Gender-bending? You’ve been reading too much manga!”

She then looked the Bone Woman up and down a few times and asked, ”You’re the Bone Woman, aren’t you?”

The Bone Woman nodded. ”I am. Please, come in. The Master has been waiting for you.”

Before, she had no tongue or oral cavity and could only communicate by making an eerie CLACKING sound with her teeth. Aside from Zhao Yuan, no one could understand her. But now, wearing human skin, she had a tongue and a mouth and could speak. Having not spoken for several hundred years—and now speaking Chinese, no less—her accent was a bit strange, but she could at least be understood.

The Bone Woman led Ying Ji and Hao Li into the room.

Hao Li stared at her graceful figure, clicking his tongue in amazement. ”This is the skeleton from last night? My god, she turned into a beauty overnight! This is more incredible than South Korean plastic surgery!”

He then started sighing dramatically. ”Sigh... why does nothing this good ever happen to me? I wish I could get a skeleton that turns into a beauty! A love that transcends species and even life and death... isn’t that just the most romantic thing ever?!”

Hearing this, Zhao Yuan and Ying Ji both rolled their eyes.

This guy, Hao Li, wasn’t just an otaku—he had a serious case of eighth-grader syndrome, too!

Once inside, Ying Ji saw Zhao Yuan and said with a smile, ”I never knew you were so skilled at painting. The work on this human skin is a masterpiece.”

Zhao Yuan shook his head. ”You’re mistaken. Chikuzen Hakumei Rihachiro painted this skin herself. It had nothing to do with me.”

”Oh?” Ying Ji turned to look at the Bone Woman in surprise. ”I didn’t realize you were also skilled at painting. It seems you were more than just an ordinary Female Warrior in life!”

This was just a minor interlude, and the three of them didn’t dwell on it.

Zhao Yuan quickly gathered his things, ready to depart.

The Bone Woman immediately moved ahead to open the door, saying respectfully, ”Master, after you.” When they got to the elevator, she again stepped forward, holding the door for the three of them to enter. She even ran back and forth to handle the check-out procedures, saving Zhao Yuan the trouble.

Hao Li’s eyes gleamed with envy. ”Little Brother Zhao has it made. It’s just like that old saying: ’The secretary handles the work.’ I just wonder, when there’s no work to handle, if he handles the secre—”

Before he could finish, the White Cat leaped up and slapped a paw across his face, shutting him up.

Ying Ji shot him a glare and said irritably, ”That’s what you get for running your mouth, Fatty Hao. See? Even Xiaobai is disgusted with you.”

Hao Li was thoroughly miffed. He looked at the White Cat and said, ”I’m the one who brought you all the way from Rongcheng City to Huashang to reunite with Little Brother Zhao, and this is the thanks I get?”

The White Cat’s response was simple—it turned and walked away, leaving Hao Li with a view of its haughty rear.

This time, Hao Li was left utterly speechless.

Once the Bone Woman had handled the check-out, the group went to the parking garage and got into an Audi sedan.

Ying Ji took out her phone, pulled up the location sent by Cheng Haoyu, started the navigation, and drove toward the destination. Over half an hour later, the sedan pulled into a marina.

Cheng Haoyu was already waiting for them, surrounded by four or five beautiful women.

”Give the keys to them, they’ll park it for you,” Cheng Haoyu said to Ying Ji. He then greeted Zhao Yuan and Hao Li. Just as he was about to lead them toward a yacht moored at the dock, he caught sight of the Bone Woman getting out of the car. He paused, then frowned and asked, ”You brought someone else?”

Ying Ji whispered back, ”She’s not a person. She’s the Bone Woman that Zhao Yuan subjugated.”

Cheng Haoyu was stunned, finding Zhao Yuan more and more unfathomable.
