Divine Level Witch Doctor

With his formidable foe gone, Zhao Yuan could no longer hold on and collapsed to the floor.

He gasped for breath as he thanked Zeng Rui, ”Thank you for stepping in. I would have been dead without you.”

Zeng Rui smiled faintly and said with regret, ”A shame she got away.”

Zhao Yuan said, ”It’s alright. I have a feeling we’ll meet again. When that time comes, I’ll definitely settle this score with her!”

Zeng Rui nodded. She believed that the next time Zhao Yuan encountered Lingzi, he wouldn’t be in such a sorry state.

Zhao Yuan’s strength was increasing at a rate she had never seen before. She believed that when Zhao Yuan and Lingzi met again, Lingzi would be in for a huge surprise.

Zeng Rui pointed at the bones on the floor, which were writhing ceaselessly and trying to reform. She asked, ”Someone’s coming. What are you going to do with this pile of bones? Want me to destroy it?”

”No,” Zhao Yuan stopped her. ”These bones are quite interesting. Let’s keep them. I want to study them.”

At that moment, a description of the Bone Woman had already appeared on the Information Leaf.

It was a type of Demon from Japan.

When a woman suffered great humiliation and abuse in life and died filled with resentment, she could transform into a Bone Woman Demon Ghost, seeking to claim the lives of others!

This type of Demon Ghost not only appeared in its skeletal form but could also disguise itself with human skin, painting itself into a beautiful woman, much like the painted-skin ghost from *Strange Tales of the Strange*.

From another perspective, the Bone Woman was actually a pitiful creature.

Of course, Zhao Yuan wanted to keep it because he saw the value in its abilities.

The Information Leaf provided a method to subdue the Bone Woman. If Zhao Yuan could truly bring it under his control, he would undoubtedly gain another helper and an increase in his combat strength!

The Bone Woman was a Demon Ghost and possessed a soul, so Zhao Yuan couldn’t put it into his Storage Ring. He could only ask Zeng Rui for help to stuff it into a travel bag. To prevent it from escaping, Zhao Yuan also placed the Wind and Thunder Whip and the Fearless Pearl in the bag to suppress it.

Now, the Bone Woman couldn’t even wriggle.

Just as they finished, the sound of frantic footsteps echoed from the hallway. Immediately after, Zhao Yuan saw a group of people burst into the room.

Leading the group were teachers and leaders from West Hua Medical University. As soon as they entered, one asked, ”Zhao Yuan, we heard a loud commotion coming from your room. What happened?”

The fight between Zhao Yuan and Lingzi had been incredibly loud, alarming everyone on the floor. People had opened their doors to look, and when they realized the noise was coming from the direction of Zhao Yuan’s room, they panicked and rushed over to check on him.

In reality, the fight between Zhao Yuan and Lingzi, while seemingly complex, had only lasted a few short minutes, which is why these people arrived so quickly.

The crowd was shocked again when they saw the chaotic state of the room.

Of course, Zhao Yuan couldn’t tell them the whole story. He just said vaguely, ”Someone attacked me just now, but I drove them off.”

Hearing this, the crowd erupted in an uproar.

”What? Someone attacked you?”

”Who attacked you?”

”Could it be the Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioners? Are they sore losers who resorted to such a despicable trick?”

”Are you hurt? Do you need to go to the hospital?”

Zhao Yuan said, ”I’m fine, just exhausted from the fight. The one who attacked me wasn’t one of the Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioners...”

Before he could finish, a mournful wail echoed from the hallway: ”Senior Brother! What’s wrong, Senior Brother?”

The cry was in Japanese, and most people present didn’t understand it. They couldn’t help but mutter, ”What are these Japanese devils hollering about?” Someone who understood Japanese immediately translated, and everyone was stunned. ”That ’Senior Brother’ must be someone from the Genji School calling for Kawashima Haruhiro, right? What happened to him?”

Only Zhao Yuan knew that Kawashima Haruhiro was already dead.

Killed at the hands of Lingzi!

After checking Zhao Yuan over and confirming he wasn’t seriously injured, the group helped call the police and the hotel to get him a new room. Then, unable to contain their curiosity, they all hurried to Kawashima Haruhiro’s room to see what had happened.

After a short rest to recover some of his strength, Zhao Yuan followed them to Kawashima Haruhiro’s room.

On the way, he pulled up the audio he had recorded on his phone earlier and edited out the part with the fight at the end, lest anyone hear something they shouldn’t.

Entering Kawashima Haruhiro’s room, he saw him lying dead on the bed, completely naked.

Genji Doju sat to one side, his face ashen. Several of his disciples were busy dressing Kawashima Haruhiro’s body.

When the members of the Genji School saw the Chinese medical experts enter, especially Zhao Yuan, they flew into a rage. ”What are you doing here?” one demanded. ”The man is already dead! Are you here to kick us while we’re down?”

Another pointed at Zhao Yuan and shouted furiously, ”You’re the one who killed my Senior Brother! We will definitely get revenge for this!”

”Nonsense. How could I have killed Kawashima Haruhiro?” Although Zhao Yuan wasn’t afraid of them, he had no intention of taking the blame.

The other person retorted, ”My Senior Brother must have become overly depressed after losing to you, which worsened his condition and caused his sudden death! In other words, you angered him to death!”

Zhao Yuan almost laughed in anger at the man’s words. The rest of the crowd was also in an uproar, all of them accusing the Japanese man of being shameless and trying to frame someone.

”Kawashima Haruhiro’s death has nothing to do with me. He was killed by Lingzi, the female companion he brought with him.” Zhao Yuan pulled up the edited recording on his phone and played it.

The room instantly fell silent. Everyone heard the conversation between Zhao Yuan and Lingzi.

Although Lingzi’s name wasn’t mentioned directly in the recording, everyone knew the female voice belonged to her.

Her voice was too unique; that tender, bewitching tone was impossible for others to imitate.

After the recording finished, Zhao Yuan said, ”After this Lingzi attacked Kawashima Haruhiro, she came to attack me. Luckily, I’m strong enough to have driven her off. I suggest you find the real killer and stop randomly accusing innocent people.”

”Where is Lingzi?” Genji Doju asked, standing up.

A few disciples answered, ”We didn’t see her. When we arrived, Senior Brother’s door was ajar. There was no one inside except for him.”

This fact, combined with the recording, confirmed that Lingzi was the killer!

Although no one knew why Lingzi would kill Kawashima Haruhiro and then attack Zhao Yuan, that was a matter for the police. Right now, people just wanted to get justice for Zhao Yuan.

”Apologize!”

”Apologize to Zhao Yuan!”

”Accusing Zhao Yuan without knowing the facts is disgusting! You must apologize!”

”Don’t just apologize, thank him! If it weren’t for him, how would you even know who the real killer is?”

Faced with the indignant crowd, Genji Doju and his disciples, no matter how unwilling or reluctant they were, had no choice but to offer Zhao Yuan a formal apology and their thanks.

At that moment, their mood couldn’t have been more awful or aggrieved.
