Apocalypse Descends: I Win Effortlessly by Turning Trash into Treasure

After all, she already knew the location of the encampment. She could come back for these things after the cold wave ended.

Perry Yates first located the three spots where the cards were hidden and took all of them. Then, she went to the warehouse where the treasure boxes were stored.

She used Instant Teleportation to get inside the warehouse, then spent about ten minutes emptying it.

As she left, she also took care of the two members of the Snow-Ox Clan standing guard outside.

Having done all that, she left the place without a second glance.

「The ninth day of the game.」

Early in the morning, Perry Yates was still drifting in the sky, as she hadn’t yet found a suitable place to land.

The main reason was that the scene of a group of Snow-Ox Clan members suddenly bursting out of the snow had left too deep an impression on her, making her feel that nowhere was safe now.

However, she could feel that the temperature today had dropped significantly compared to yesterday. The wind was also picking up. She estimated the cold wave would arrive within the next day or two.

If not today, then tomorrow or the day after.

Perry Yates thought tomorrow was more likely, as it fit the timing perfectly.

After an unknown amount of time, snow began to fall, and the cold wind grew stronger. Perry Yates, who had planned to take her time searching, couldn’t help but start to feel anxious.

There was nothing she could do. Claudia Vance was clearly slowing down in the face of the strong winds, and many of the surrounding clouds had been blown away.

Fortunately, at the last moment, Perry Yates found a natural cave on a snowy mountain.

After entering the cave, she first surveyed her surroundings.

The cave wasn’t very large. Perry Yates estimated that the Safe House definitely wouldn’t fit, but a tent should be no problem.

Just then, a blast of cold wind poured in from the cave entrance, making Perry Yates shiver uncontrollably.

By now, the snow outside was getting heavier. Even with Perry Yates’s vision, visibility was no more than ten meters.

Perry Yates sealed the cave entrance with snow. To make it more solid, she even sprinkled salt on the snow, leaving only a small opening for ventilation.

Once that was done, she finally took out her tent.

Upon entering the tent, the instantaneous feeling of warmth made Perry Yates let out a sigh of relief.

However, she didn’t lie down for long. After all, she had more important things to do.

First, she turned all her equipped gear back into cards and stored them in her Card Storage Device. Then, she took out the Magic Water Pot, poured out some hot water, and gave herself a quick wipe-down.

After washing up, Perry Yates sighed comfortably and shook out her neat, short hair.

’Cutting my hair short was definitely a smart choice.’

After changing into clean clothes, Perry Yates sat cross-legged in the tent with four treasure boxes appearing before her.

These treasure boxes contained all the cards she had obtained from the Snow-Ox Clan’s encampment over the past few days.

White Cards were the most numerous. She wasn’t sure of the exact count since she hadn’t tallied them, but there were over a hundred.

Next were the one-star cards, of which there were also dozens.

There were slightly fewer two-star cards than one-star, but not by much, followed by the three-star and four-star cards.

In truth, Perry Yates didn’t care much about the cards’ star levels. After all, she could obtain cards of any level she wanted through Ascension. What she cared about were their abilities and functions.

And whether any of them were suitable for her.

Unfortunately, most of these cards, especially the Skill Cards, were of the Ice or Water Attribute.

After putting those cards away, she began to open the treasure boxes one by one.

Perry Yates had a habit of saving the best for last, and this time was no exception.

She opened all the bronze treasure boxes first.

Unsurprisingly, these boxes yielded all sorts of food and clothing.

Occasionally, there were also things like hair ties, drinking cups, and bowls and plates for eating.

Perry Yates looked at a pair of wine glasses she had just opened. They looked quite beautiful.

Soon, she had opened most of the treasure boxes she had. Food and clothing were plentiful. From these boxes, Perry Yates obtained a total of twenty White Cards, ten one-star cards, three two-star cards, and one three-star card.

Perry Yates looked at the three-star card. It was a pair of ski goggles with Night Vision, aiming, and distance-measuring capabilities.

Seeing this, she decisively swapped her old ski goggles for the new ones.

After organizing all her things, Perry Yates turned her gaze to the remaining treasure boxes.

All that was left to open were the gold-red treasure boxes.

These treasure boxes were very rare, numbering fewer than ten.

Before opening the first one, Perry Yates deliberately went and washed her hands again, even applying hand cream.

’Please, heavens, let me get a good card. Please, please!’

After a silent countdown of three, two, one in her head, the first box opened.

A dazzling golden light flashed, so bright it was almost impossible to keep one’s eyes open.

When the golden light faded, Perry Yates slowly opened her eyes. A golden card was now floating above the box.

Seeing this, Perry Yates rubbed her eyes in disbelief.

’G-Golden!’

’A five-star card!’

Her hand shot out impatiently toward the card. After confirming it was really a five-star card, Perry Yates laughed out loud.

[The Nameless Bar

Five-Star

Here, you are the ruler. No one can harm you within the bar’s premises.

More abilities will be unlocked after the card is activated.

’It seems this card can’t, or rather, isn’t suitable for use inside the game.’

Perry Yates thought to herself. After all, she couldn’t stay in the game forever.

Still, with this card, she now possessed a perfect shelter.

Moreover, with this card, she wouldn’t have to be afraid even if someone found out about her Talent.

Maybe she could even use this card’s abilities to do a ”little” bit of business, like an offline trading meet.

The idea of custom orders popped into Perry Yates’s mind.

After stowing the card away, Perry Yates eagerly opened the second box.

This time, it wasn’t a golden light that appeared, but a red one.

It was a four-star card, and a Domain System Skill Card at that—Absolute Zero Domain.

Effect: Upon activation, instantly lowers the temperature within a designated area to absolute zero.

Possesses powerful Sealing and control abilities.

’Players with the Ice Attribute would probably go crazy if they saw this card.’

Next, Perry Yates opened several more of the gold-red treasure boxes. They yielded either several black cards or a single red card.

The black cards were item cards, which Perry Yates casually stored in her Card Storage Device.
