Flash Marriage: He is a Wife-pampering Addict

Chapter 1536: 1535 If I say, I like you

Before he could finish speaking, Qin Mu started coughing again.

An Lin walked over and turned off the stove directly, “Even if it’s not contagious, don’t do it. I’ll go out and buy it.”

“An Lin, no need to buy.”

Qin Mu reached out to grab her, a smile appearing at the corner of his mouth, “I’ve already fried two, that’s enough for you, and the congee is ready too.”

“Then you should have some congee?”

An Lin turned her head to look at the congee beside her, frowning slightly.

Qin Mu said lightly, “I don’t have much of an appetite. I’ll drink half a bowl later, as long as I can take some medicine.”

That night, listening to the sound of Qin Mu’s coughing coming from the next room, An Lin hesitated for a long while, finally unable to resist getting up from bed.

She pushed open the door to the guest room and turned on the light.

Qin Mu opened his eyes, and seeing An Lin standing at the door, a trace of surprise flashed in his eyes, his fist covering his mouth, “An Lin, did I wake you?”

“Why is your cough worse than it was during the day?”

An Lin frowned and walked over to touch his forehead.

Qin Mu obediently let her feel his forehead like a child, his dark eyes clear and gazing at her gently.

“So hot, you must have a fever.”

An Lin’s frown deepened a little as she spoke and then turned to leave.

A moment later, she came back with a thermometer, asking Qin Mu to take his temperature.

Qin Mu took the thermometer, “You go back to sleep, I can measure it myself.”

“I can’t sleep.” An Lin said, sitting down on the edge of his bed.

Looking at her eyes filled with concern, Qin Mu felt a wave of warmth in his heart, “An Lin, go back and sleep. If I have a fever, I’ll just take some medicine.”

“Don’t talk.”

As soon as he spoke, he started coughing.

An Lin sternly admonished, then thought for a moment, got up again, and went outside to get him a glass of water.

“You’re still having a fever, almost thirty-eight degrees. Is taking fever-reducing medicine okay?”

Looking at the thermometer, An Lin’s worry was unmistakable on her face.

“It’s okay.” Compared to An Lin’s worry, Qin Mu spoke casually, as if besides the discomfort from coughing, the fever was nothing serious to him.

“Take the fever-reducing medicine first. Tomorrow morning, we’ll go back to G City and let Ah Kai do a check-up on you.”

An Lin was still uneasy, as he had been sick for two or three days, and not only was he not getting better, he had a fever too.

“Okay, I’ll listen to you.”

Qin Mu surprisingly agreed compliantly.

Seeing him agree, An Lin’s frown eased a bit.

She thought for a moment and then said, “Come with me to the room next door to sleep. In half an hour, I’ll check to see if your fever has gone down.”

Qin Mu frowned with some difficulty, “That’s not good, I don’t want to infect you.”

“It’s not that easy to spread. If you don’t want to move, then just don’t.”

An Lin meant that if he didn’t want to get up and move next door with her, she would stay here with him.

Qin Mu immediately sat up from the bed, “It’s not that I don’t want to move, let’s go, I’ll go to the next room with you to sleep.”

An Lin stared into his eyes for two seconds, then turned and walked towards the door.

Qin Mu followed An Lin, a subtle smile appearing at the corner of his mouth, as he left the guest room with her and went to the master bedroom.

“Lie on your side facing inwards, I don’t want to infect you.”

Qin Mu softly instructed, and An Lin responded with a hum. After sleeping in separate rooms for so many days, having him suddenly in her bed again made An Lin somewhat unaccustomed.

She lay on her side facing inwards, while Qin Mu lay on the edge of the bed.

Occupying only one-fifth of the bed space.

By her side, his cough occasionally broke the silence, and it was clear he was trying hard to suppress it.

Even so, lying in the same bed, his suppressed cough was still audible.

After a few minutes, An Lin turned over and sat up. Seeing this, Qin Mu hurriedly asked, “Did I wake you? Should I go back to the guest room to sleep?”

“No, I just forgot to fetch water. I’ll go and get you a glass.”

“No need, I’m not thirsty.”

Qin Mu stretched out his long arm, pulled An Lin back to the bed. Her body froze slightly, but Qin Mu tightened his grip, drawing her into his embrace.

“An Lin, don’t move.”

As soon as she struggled, Qin Mu’s voice sounded in her ear.

The warm male breath brushed against her ear, sending a shiver down An Lin’s spine.

“What are you doing?”

Her tone had subtly shifted.

Qin Mu’s big hand tightened, and his firm chest pressed against An Lin’s back. Perhaps due to the inherent differences between men and women, holding the woman in his arms, there was a soft warmth.

Somewhere deep in his heart, there was a ripple.

“I just want to hold you.”

His slightly hoarse voice sounded in her ear, carrying warm breath into her ear, quickening An Lin’s heartbeat.

Perhaps having slept in separate rooms for too long, she was not used to being held by him like this.

Thinking back, it seemed like somewhere before the end of the year, Qin Mu stopped holding her to sleep.

The vague memory was triggered after that encounter with Gao Yuwen at the banquet.

Now, being held by Qin Mu, feeling his refreshing, pleasant male scent, a complex feeling grew deep inside An Lin.

Although her body was stiff, she did not move after all.

“An Lin, if I told you I’ve fallen for you, would you believe me?”

After a long silence, Qin Mu’s hoarse voice broke the quietness, making An Lin laugh suddenly, “Ah Mu, have you become delusional from the fever?”

Behind her, Qin Mu sighed softly.

“I knew you wouldn’t believe me.”

His deep, magnetic voice had a rich quality to it.

Although An Lin said that, her heart was still stirred, unable to remain calm despite knowing not to believe his words.

“Though we haven’t been married for long, it certainly feels longer than this current time we’ve spent together.”

An Lin’s voice contained a hint of teasing. She admired herself for being able to speak lightly, as if she didn’t care, even though her heart was clearly disturbed by his words.

The person behind her remained silent.

Unaware whether it was because she had struck the truth, leaving him speechless, or their disbelief had rendered him silent.

People are strange like this—when he said he liked her, An Lin didn’t believe it. But when he fell silent, she felt a suffocating heaviness in her heart.

It was as if something had clogged her chest, making it hard to breathe.

“Sleep.”

After a while, Qin Mu softly spoke two words.

An Lin pressed her lips, turning around and reaching out to touch his forehead, “Still so hot.”

Grasping her hand, Qin Mu curved his mouth slightly, “You can’t expect the fever to go down so quickly. Go to sleep, I’m not feeling as uncomfortable as before. The fever will likely go down soon.”

“Really?”

An Lin looked at him with concern.

Qin Mu nodded, and the two were so close, their breaths intertwining. He exerted some force, turning her body around, “Turn over and sleep, I don’t want to infect you.”

“Then I’ll sleep.”

An Lin had been concerned about whether his fever had subsided before, with no energy to ponder over some ambiguous things. Now, being turned over by him, she suddenly felt behind her, his physiological response…
