Giant Dragon Lord: Starting from Daily Intelligence

Chapter 636: Chapter 459: Catastrophe Level Demon Serpent Puppet and Great Elder ”Gu”’s Favor

Under the searing heat of the Dragon Flame, the frozen warships emitted a series of grating cracks. Then, they thundered down, shattering apart and ultimately melting into ugly masses of steel and charcoal that sank into the sea.

When the wreckage of the last warship had sunk to the bottom of the sea, leaving only churning steam and floating debris on the surface, Raylo steered the Three-headed Giant Dragon back to the mountain’s peak.

Atop the mountain, Grand Elder Gu was still squatting beside the corpse of the Six-winged Angel of Death, studying the construction of this peculiar weapon.

Nearby, the ”Storm Cage,” formed from over a thousand tornadoes, had gradually begun to slow its rotation.

Inside the cage, the struggles of the Tier Six Holy Knight were growing weaker. The brilliant Holy Light surrounding him had dimmed to a flicker, like a candle in the wind, ready to be extinguished at any moment.

ROAR!

The Flowing Wind Giant Dragon let out a triumphant roar, as if it could sense its enemy’s demise.

It opened its massive maw, and hundreds of enormous, incredibly solid Wind Blades formed from pure Wind Element shot out, precisely striking the core of the Storm Cage.

PFFT!

Following a soft, muffled sound, the last flicker of Holy Light within the cage was completely extinguished.

The Storm Cage slowly dissipated, revealing the scene within.

The once-arrogant Tier Six Holy Knight had now been reduced to a blurry pulp of flesh and blood. Not even a single complete bone remained as he vanished completely from the world.

Its vengeance complete, the Flowing Wind Giant Dragon tilted its head to the sky and let out a victorious roar. Its massive body slowly descended, landing steadily upon the mountain cliff.

Just then, a colossal, fiery-red shadow appeared on the distant horizon, flying this way at extreme speed.

The searing, domineering aura made Raylo raise an eyebrow slightly.

It was Otto III.

’He’s finally here.’

In just over ten seconds, the thousand-meter-long Blazing Flame Giant Dragon arrived above Storm Cape and began to slowly descend.

BOOM!

The massive dragon’s body hit the ground, causing the entire mountain to tremble violently.

Otto III leaped down from the dragon’s back. He looked at the devastated battlefield on the peak, at the completely cold corpse of the Angel of Death, and then at the calm and composed Flowing Wind Giant Dragon and Raylo. An expression of utter shock and embarrassment appeared on his face.

’I was only a little late, and the Catastrophe Level battle is already over?’

”Uh... Raylo...”

He scratched his short, fiery-red hair. For the first time, a sheepish look appeared on his usually hearty face.

”Sorry, sorry. Ran into a bit of trouble on the way and got held up.”

Raylo just looked at him, smiled, and said nothing.

The Flowing Wind Giant Dragon, however, snorted coldly and turned its massive head away, clearly unimpressed with the late arrival of its reinforcements.

Otto III’s expression became even more awkward.

He cleared his throat twice, walked over to Raylo, and asked in a low voice,

”Is... is it all taken care of?”

”It is.”

Raylo nodded.

”Then... what about the Holy Knight and the Angel of Death?”

”They’re both dead.”

”...”

Otto III opened his mouth, but in the end, all that came out was a long sigh.

He had originally intended to show off his strength as a veteran Catastrophe Level powerhouse in front of a junior like Raylo, and to put the Flowing Wind Giant Dragon in his debt at the same time.

But he wasn’t without his own selfish motives. He had deliberately delayed his arrival, planning to appear on the battlefield as a Savior. Since both he and his Blazing Flame Giant Dragon were at the Catastrophe Level, they had more than enough power to turn the tide.

By doing so, he would earn the gratitude of the Flowing Wind Giant Dragon, the master of Storm Cape, establish a friendship, and reap the greatest rewards.

But he never expected that because of his petty scheming, the battle would be over before he could even get a taste of the action.

It was all so embarrassing that he felt he couldn’t show his face.

He exchanged a few more awkward pleasantries with Raylo, then tried to cozy up to the Flowing Wind Giant Dragon, who wasn’t interested in talking to him.

He asked Raylo for details about the fight but was brushed off with a vague response. Finally, in an extremely uncomfortable atmosphere, he hastily took his leave.

Steering his Blazing Flame Giant Dragon, he vanished over the horizon with his tail between his legs.

”Kid, come over here.”

Grand Elder Gu’s voice came from nearby.

Raylo walked over. Gu had already stood up and was dusting off his hands, seemingly having reached a conclusion in his study of the Six-winged Angel of Death.

”Elder, did you find anything?”

Raylo asked curiously.

Gu glanced at the mangled corpse on the ground, a flash of disgust in his murky eyes.

”This is the result of an extremely cruel experiment.”

His voice grew somber.

”They use the bodies of intelligent beings as vessels, forcefully infusing them with impure Divine Power in the most barbaric way possible to create these... War Weapons that possess their own thoughts yet are under absolute control. It’s utterly inhumane.”

”Besides...”

He said with contempt,

”Although these War Weapons, created by infusing Power, can reach the threshold of the Catastrophe Level, they are the weakest among their peers. They can’t be considered perfect creations by any means.”

”Full of flaws and crudely made.”

This was Grand Elder Gu’s assessment of the ”Angel of Death,” the War Weapon the Light Holy See was so proud of.

Just then, Gu’s gaze suddenly fell upon the Demon Serpent head in Raylo’s hand, which he had just used and which still retained a faint, cold aura.

His murky eyes narrowed slightly.

”This thing...”

He extended a withered finger and pointed at the ”Ice Wind” Demon Head.

”I sense a familiar aura from it.”

”It shares the same origin as the will I expelled on the battlefield of Jade Swamp that day.”

Raylo’s heart skipped a beat. He knew he couldn’t hide anything from this unfathomably powerful elder.

He nodded and admitted it frankly.

”Yes, Elder. This is a head that a human powerhouse severed from the Nine-headed Demon Serpent many years ago.”

”Oh?”

A flicker of surprise crossed Gu’s eyes, quickly followed by understanding.

”No wonder... No wonder that thing’s will specifically sought you out when it descended.”

His gaze shifted back and forth between the Demon Serpent head and Raylo.

A meaningful smile suddenly appeared on Gu’s face.

”Kid, how would you like a real, Catastrophe Level enforcer?”

Raylo’s breath caught in his throat.

”Elder, what do you mean by that?”

Gu pointed to the Demon Serpent head in his hand.

”This head may be dead, but it still contains a trace of the Nine-headed Demon Serpent’s Law of Origin. And that Blood Pill of yours contains the Life and Soul Energy of tens of thousands of beings.”

”If we fuse these two things together...”

Gu’s lips stretched into a wide grin.

”I can help you use them to create a Catastrophe Level Demon Serpent Puppet.”

”A tireless, fearless Catastrophe Level Puppet that will obey only your commands.”

Raylo’s mind went blank with a BUZZ.

’A Catastrophe Level... Puppet?’

’Happiness came so suddenly!’

Without the slightest hesitation, he gave Gu a deep bow.

”I... I accept! Thank you, Elder, for making this possible!”

Gu laughed heartily and clapped Raylo on the shoulder.

”Kid, don’t be so quick to thank me.”

”This will be the second favor you owe me.”

’A second favor?’

As he said this, Grand Elder Gu’s murky eyes, which seemed to see through everything, held a faint, knowing smile.

Raylo’s heart stirred.

He wasn’t an idiot.

’From gifting him the Blood Pill in Jade Swamp to now offering to craft a Catastrophe Level Demon Serpent Puppet for him...’

’Every ”favor” from this unfathomably powerful Giant elder came with a debt attached.’

Raylo had a vague feeling that these ”favors” were Grand Elder Gu’s pre-paid compensation for something.

It was just that this compensation was far too generous.

So generous that Raylo had no reason, nor the ability, to refuse.

Whether it was the Blood Pill containing Catastrophe Level Power or the forthcoming Catastrophe Level Demon Serpent Puppet, both were strategic assets capable of changing the tide of war for him and for the entire Black Stone Territory.

Moreover, after spending this time together, Raylo could sense that although the Great Elder acted on a whim, he wasn’t a bad person at his core. Instead, he was more like a kindly old man who had seen through the ways of the world and was now just treating it all as a game.

Having figured this out, Raylo no longer had any hesitation.

He respectfully retrieved the Blood Pill, which was wrapped in multiple layers of thick cloth, from his Spatial Bag and handed it over to Grand Elder Gu, along with the ”Ice Wind” Demon Head.

”I’ll leave everything in your hands, Elder.”
