Giant Dragon Lord: Starting from Daily Intelligence

Chapter 411: Chapter 357: The Duke Slays the Lion in Three Moves and the Flying Dragon Bloodline Potion

A week passed quietly.

The three hundred Pegasi were settled into the Pegasus Ranch, and the territory’s aerial forces skyrocketed overnight.

On the training grounds, the Knights’ morale was at an all-time high. The air was filled with their shouts and the endless clash of weapons.

During this time, Raylo was eagerly awaiting good news from Master Barnaby regarding the development of the Flying Dragon Bloodline Potion.

However, before any news arrived from Master Barnaby, a different piece of information swept in from the South like a sudden storm—news that would shake the entire Thunder Dragon Duchy.

The Thunder Dragon Duchy had crushed the Lion Duchy. The Lion Duke was beheaded, his head impaled on a flagpole and brought back to Thunder Dragon City as a war trophy.

Raylo held a scroll of parchment sealed with black wax.

It was the highest level of military briefing from the Thunder Dragon Duchy, encrypted with a unique Magic Mark, and only he had the authority to break the seal and read its contents.

He crushed the wax seal.

Unfurling the scroll, Raylo’s eyes scanned it line by line.

The letter detailed how Aiden Duke had slain the Lion Duke on the battlefield.

For a time, the only sound in the study was the crackling of firewood in the hearth.

Ed stood silently to the side and did not ask any questions.

He knew his Lord was processing the astonishing information contained in the letter.

”Ed, in your opinion, how could a Domain Level powerhouse, on an open battlefield, break through the joint defense of four others of the same level?”

Raylo suddenly asked.

”How is that possible?”

Ed was taken aback, then began to think seriously.

”Unless... one possessed overwhelmingly superior Power.”

”Well said,”

Raylo said.

”Just three days ago, during the decisive battle on the southern border, the Duke personally rode his Thunder Dragon, Astra, and charged into the Lion Legion’s formation.”

Raylo stood up and walked to the large floor-to-ceiling window, gazing at the layered peaks of the Black Stone Mountain Range in the distance.

”The report says that the Thunder Dragon Astra swept the entire battlefield with Thunderbolt, instantly clearing a path to the Lion Duke’s command banner. The Lion Duke’s four Domain Level powerhouses took to the sky to intercept, but they were shattered as if they were made of paper.”

Raylo turned around, looked at Ed, and said, word by word,

”Three moves.”

”In just three moves, the Lion Duke’s head was sent flying into the sky.”

The air in the study seemed to have been sucked out by those two simple words.

Three moves.

To kill a Domain Level powerhouse of the same rank while being intercepted by four others!

Ed could perfectly imagine the scene: a Giant Dragon descending from the heavens wielding Thunderbolt, parting the enemy army with ease. Before the eyes of countless Knights, the life of the enemy Commander-in-Chief was snuffed out like a candle flame.

What domineering, what magnificent martial might!

”The Thunder Dragon Duchy has won a total victory. The Lion Duchy’s main legion was almost completely annihilated, and countless Knights and soldiers have been captured. Now, Aiden Duke is leading his Thunder Dragon Knight Order back to Thunder Dragon City in triumph.”

After speaking, Raylo sat back down in his chair.

”This is truly... an unbelievable victory,”

Ed exclaimed sincerely.

This wasn’t just a victory for the Thunder Dragon Duchy, but a victory for all Knights with Giant Dragon partners.

It was a declaration to the entire Continent of the terrifying combat power that could be unleashed when a Giant Dragon and its Knight partner fought as one.

Those gazes of doubt, covetousness, and hostility would likely have to be reined in.

”Yes.”

Raylo stroked his chin.

”An unbelievable victory.”

At this moment, his thoughts had already turned elsewhere.

’The war is over, but for the victors, another kind of feast is just beginning.’

’Those captured Knights from the Lion Duchy, having lost their lords and their honor, have gone from noble Knights to commodities with a clear price tag.’

’What does Black Stone Territory lack most right now?’

’People.’

’Enough elite, professional soldiers to fill the framework of his rapidly expanding army.’

’Training them from scratch ensures loyalty, but it’s too slow.’

’And now, a golden opportunity has presented itself.’

He picked up a quill from his desk, quickly wrote a few words on a blank sheet of parchment, and then rolled it up.

”Ed, go and fetch Scribe Evan.”

”Yes, Lord.”

Ed accepted the order and left.

Soon, Evan arrived at the study.

”Lord.”

Evan bowed respectfully.

”Evan, I have a mission for you.”

Raylo handed him the parchment scroll.

”Take a squad of Knights, prepare some gifts, and head to the southern part of the Duchy immediately.”

Evan took the parchment but did not open it immediately, waiting for further instructions.

”With the Thunder Dragon Duchy’s great victory, the one thing those southern lords who participated in the war don’t lack right now are prisoners from the Lion Duchy,”

Raylo said.

”I want you to go as an emissary of Black Stone Territory, visit these lords, and buy all the captured Knights they have.”

Evan immediately understood his Lord’s intentions.

”Lord, what is our budget?”

”There is no upper limit. Don’t be afraid to spend money. I want you to buy at least one thousand Knights.”

”Understood.”

Evan solemnly tucked the parchment scroll into his coat.

”I will begin preparations at once.”

”Remember, maintain a humble attitude. We are merchants seeking cooperation. This must be handled flawlessly.”

”Rest assured, Lord.”

Evan bowed once more and exited the study.

’The lion may be dead, but its claws and teeth remain.’

’These defeated Knights from the Lion Duchy might soon be wearing the collars of Black Stone Territory and fighting for him.’

A glorious victory is an honor for the victor, but a disaster for the vanquished.

But for an observer like Raylo, it was another kind of feast entirely.

Just then, there was another knock on the door.

A Knight reported from outside the door.
