Infinite Mana In The Apocalypse

Chapter 4263: Struggles and Advancements! I

Struggle...that unwelcome teacher that shows up uninvited, overstays its welcome, and leaves only after fundamentally changing who you are!

We hate it while we’re in it, romanticize it when it’s over, and secretly know we need it even as we try to avoid it.

Think of the butterfly in its chrysalis. If you cut it free, trying to spare it the struggle of emergence, you doom it. The fight to break free isn’t cruelty...it’s engineering at its height of glory.

The struggle pumps fluid into wings that would otherwise remain crumpled and useless.

Kindness, in this case, if one were to cut the butterfly out of its shell...is crippling. Mercy becomes murder.

We see this truth and nod sagely, then spend our lives trying to avoid every struggle we encounter, as if we’re somehow exempt from the very principle we claim to understand.

In the Earliest Folds, THE Creature traversed the impossible landscapes between Folds. It came upon something remarkable...the peak of a glorious mountain emerging from an unfathomable Fold, struggling to break through dimensional boundaries.

THE Creature paused, its perception analyzing what it witnessed. This Mountain held a heavy concentration of Everythings...those fundamental particles of possibility that had been scattered when THE Creature had given its Everything to Paradox, causing that explosive dispersal across all existence.

Moved by what it interpreted as kinship...or perhaps ownership, or perhaps simple pity...THE Creature decided to help.

With power that treated dimensional barriers as suggestions, it cut open the folds, creating a clear path for The Mountain to emerge without struggle.

The Mountain erupted through with terrifying power, its form solidifying into something magnificent.

But instead of gratitude, a voice filled with grief and regret rumbled from its peaks:

”Why would you do that?! Why would you halt my Struggle and forever cripple me from what I could become?!”

HUUM!

THE Creature, for perhaps the first time in its existence, found itself utterly dumbfounded.

No response formed. No wisdom emerged. Just silence in the face of accusation.

The Mountain’s voice continued, each word a avalanche of disappointment.

”Did you take pity on me because you sensed my accumulation of Everythings? Don’t you know, Creature, that the day you gave your Everything to Paradox and it was spread across Existence, it stopped being yours? You share no connection with me or any of the countless things that were painted with the emergence of Everythings.”

BOOM!

The truth landed with the weight of continents.

”You do not know our struggles. You do not know my struggle. And today, you stunted my Everything of Struggle. Instead of becoming THE Mountain that could encompass all Folds... I will now just be... The Mountain.”

The distinction between ”THE” and ”The” had never carried such tremendous weight as this...the difference between fundamental force and mere geography.

”What a loss. What a loss!”

With those words, The Mountain warped away, disappearing from THE Creature’s perception.

It marked the first time THE Creature had received a lesson from something that had emerged from its own actions.

Struggle.

Often times, struggle was necessary for unfathomable wonders to bloom. Not because suffering was inherently valuable, but because the process of overcoming resistance created capabilities that ease could never develop.

THE Creature’s kindness had been real but misguided. In removing The Mountain’s struggle, it had removed its chance to develop the strength needed to be more than it was.

The easy path had led not to the same destination faster, but to a different, lesser destination entirely.

This is the paradox of compassion: sometimes the kindest thing is to let others struggle.

Not from cruelty or indifference, but from understanding that some transformations require pressure, some strength only emerges from resistance, some destinations can only be reached by difficult paths.

The Mountain could have become something that encompassed all Folds...a geographical absolute, a landmark across all existence.

Instead, helped too much, it became just another mountain. Impressive, certainly. Powerful, undoubtedly. But not what it could have been.

THE Creature learned something that day about the danger of intervention, about how power to help could become power to harm, about how removing someone’s struggle might be removing their wings.

The butterfly needs to fight free of its chrysalis.

The Mountain needed to break through the Folds.

And perhaps even THE Creature itself needed to struggle with the consequences of its choices.

Because without struggle, there is no becoming.

There is only being what you already were, forever, until even that loses meaning.

Struggle, it turns out, isn’t existence being cruel.

It’s existence offering you the chance to become more than existence thought you could be.

In the Early Laboratories, Elara’s personal lab.

Noah had the key. Now, it was time to build the lock.

Glorious, azure tendrils of his Infinite Mana, now under the precise, artistic command of RUIN/EDEN, surged outward.

They were no longer a chaotic fire, but a thousand delicate, surgical limbs, each one moving with a grace and precision that defied their boundless power.

They reached for the mountain of Early Omnichalcum, and block by massive block, the primordial metal lifted into the air, a silent, orbiting constellation of pure potential!

Noah stood before the half-finished, skeletal framework of a Justiciar armor, its inert, white form a blank canvas awaiting the master’s touch.

He turned to Elara, who was watching the impossible display with a look of pure, unadulterated scientific hunger.

”I am separating all materials that infuse Complexity into the armor’s matrix,” he said, his voice a calm, even statement of intent.

”My plan is to make it an instrument of pure Purity.”

Elara nodded, her crimson eyes narrowed in thought. ”We considered this,” she admitted, her tone now that of a respected peer, not a condescending commander.

”But it puts even more stress on the pilot. They don’t only have Complexity or Purity; they have both. To interface with a suit of pure, singular authority would be like trying to breathe water. Their very nature would reject it.”

Noah’s lips curved into a faint, confident smile.

”With the Modulator,” he said, gesturing to the humming engine on his back, ”that problem should be overcome for the most part. It acts as a universal translator, a bridge between the being’s mixed existence and the armor’s singular purpose.”

He looked at the half-finished armor, at the intricate, masterfully crafted framework she and her team had already built.

”You and the others here have already done the truly difficult work. The only thing I am adding is the interface. Even this Living Existential Armor is almost complete. If it works with me, it will give you a baseline for others.”

Elara’s smile was a rare, beautiful thing, a flash of genuine, collaborative excitement. She nodded!
