Affinity: Chaos

Chapter 1745: Absolute Oddity

On the platform, two figures flashed as Grey and his opponent repeatedly clashed with each other. Greyʼs opponent didnʼt dare to give him the chance to get close to her, making sure to be within a safe distance from him as she repeatedly sent out attacks.

From the first attack, Grey knew she was stronger, so he focused on defending, searching for an opportunity to counter. Given his means, defending was very easy. His space element made it almost impossible for the young ladyʼs attacks to lock onto him. Of course, there were a few attacks that destroyed the space tunnels, forcing him to take the attacks head-on.

A minute went by in this manner, and although Grey was mainly defending, none of these people looked at him in disdain. The fact that he hadnʼt suffered any injuries even after blocking so many attacks shocked them, making them feel like they seemed to have underestimated his abilities.

Greyʼs two snakes, which were made from his advanced inscriptions, were on the verge of collapsing after clashing with so many attacks.

Just when everyone thought Grey was about to be defeated, a sudden change happened. The previously retreating figure of Grey suddenly took a step forward, his figure covered with lightning, and the area around him seemed to have signs of a brownish glow, a sign of him using his earth element. Due to the young lady chasing after Grey while he retreated, taking this step forward instead of retreating suddenly closed the gap between the duo, and the young lady was caught in the middle of the brownish glow.

The young ladyʼs eyes bulged as she noticed that her movements had been restrained. Her previous momentum shattered as Grey threw his hand in her direction.

The young lady was stuck in that state of panic for only a quarter of a second; she quickly snapped out and reacted in time to stop Greyʼs incoming attack. She didnʼt dare to slight this attack, sending out a powerful fist made from flames his way before using her domain to wear off some of the effects of Greyʼs gravitational force field.

Bang!

Greyʼs attack and the young ladyʼs fire fist collided, forcing Grey to take a few steps back due to the impact.

The young lady left the effect of Greyʼs gravitational force field and looked at Grey with a serious expression. She had been careless and it almost cost her the fight. A feeling of fear gripped her heart when she thought about the potential injury she wouldʼve sustained if Greyʼs attack had struck her.

Grey looked at the young lady with a solemn expression, he knew that this wasnʼt a battle he could easily win. He had wanted to use the effect of the sudden change in his direction and the gravitational force field, but the young lady, although caught by it, reacted quickly to escape due to her superior strength. If it were an Eighth stage Sovereign, the chances of them escaping unharmed from this attack were almost zero.

Everyone in the arena was shocked by the sudden change. If not for the young lady reacting quickly, she mightʼve been in a terrible position. This was a fact known among the top experts present since they were the only ones who knew that Grey didnʼt only just change his direction to casually attack the young lady, but he had used a strange energy to change the gravity around a certain range of him, halting the movements of the young lady immediately.

In the Elderʼs area, the Pyro Faction Elders all nodded in approval. Greyʼs plan was excellent, but so was the young ladyʼs reaction. They couldnʼt help but look forward to the match now.

Lord Dante looked at Faction Leader Bertram and asked shocked, ”Where did you get such a monster?”

The fighting experience needed to come up with the plan Grey just executed was frightening. He knew for a fact that even an ordinary Ninth stage Sovereign wouldnʼt have been able to forcibly retreat from that zone in time before Greyʼs attacks struck. The young lady is regarded as a genius among geniuses who is used to fighting across cultivation stages, and although they have been in this place for a long time, after seeing the performances of the youths from the Pyrmond Faction who were regarded as the Factionʼs geniuses, they knew that the standards for geniuses here were higher. Other than the absolute oddity, who is Grey, the others were pretty average.

”He actually came to us.” Faction Leader Bertram beamed, he was naturally proud that Grey was a member of his Faction. Although he was also a member of the Dawson Family, it didnʼt change much.

”You said heʼs the son of the boy?”

Lord Dante turned to an Elder who recently joined the group. This was the Elder who Grey sensed on the way here. After Greyʼs shocking performance, Lord Dante asked the Elder to investigate Greyʼs background properly and found out he was actually the son of an unruly boy they dealt with a few years ago.

”Indeed.” The Elder nodded, his eyes never leaving Greyʼs body.

Lord Dante gave a wry smile, he didnʼt expect that the unruly boy with shocking strength he dealt with a few years ago would actually have such a monster as a son. From his estimates, Greyʼs potential was far greater than that of his father. How could such a duo appear in one family?

Lord Dante couldnʼt help but wish that they were born here. Given Greyʼs current cultivation stage, thereʼs a chance that if he were born here, thereʼs a possibility that he mightʼve broken through to the Half God Plane by now. Of course, the chances were very low, but given Greyʼs potential, he didnʼt believe that the Sovereign Plane would be his limit.

Back on the platform.

Grey didnʼt rush to continue his assault after being pushed back by the young ladyʼs attack, and since she wasnʼt in the range of his gravitational force field, he didnʼt have any advantage

over her.

The duo stared at each other, none backing down.
