Affinity: Chaos

Chapter 1740: Itʼs Nice Doing Business With You!

The Thirteenth floor!

The blinding light the ice wall gave off had died down, and everyone could clearly see that the Thirteenth floor of the Ice Chamber had indeed been accessed by Klaus. One thing noteworthy about the Thirteenth floor is that, unlike the other floors that had two Orders, the Thirteenth floor didnʼt have this clear distinction; rather, it was just one place. Not only that, but the other floors had at least twenty rooms, with those higher having fewer rooms, but the Thirteenth floor had just a single room.

Klaus had long since stopped circulating his essence as he knew that he had already achieved his objective. The ice wall in front of him didnʼt have any use to him again. In fact, his eyes gave off a sliver of profoundness and when anyone stared at him for too long, it was as if Klaus was trying to freeze their souls.

This type of feeling made all of them feel a hint of dread; even the Elders, who were Half-God Plane Elementalists, were no exception. When Klausʼ gaze swept past their eyes, they all felt this same feeling of their souls getting frozen.

ʼSuch a monster shouldnʼt be in this world... right?ʼ

This was the thought of these Elders. If even these Elders who were in the Half-God Plane could feel this way, then the feelings of the youths could be imagined.

Those geniuses felt like they were in no way inferior to Klaus, especially those in the same cultivation stage as himself or higher. But the reality was different; they could all see that the difference between them was massive, and it wasnʼt something that could be bridged by having a higher cultivation stage.

While everyone was silent, Klaus calmed himself and the light in his eyes faded. He was very satisfied with his gains and to be honest, he already felt the entire trip was worth it. He couldnʼt help but scratch his nose embarrassingly when he recalled that if not for the Faction Leader forcing him, he wouldnʼt have come to this place in the first place. Of course, thereʼs no way he will show this to the Faction Leader.

Klausʼ relationship with all of them is very simple, given his talent as well as how great he was with words, they almost always suffered losses in his hand. If thereʼs anything they could use to gain any advantage over him, he knew theyʼd take it. Naturally, as long as it wasnʼt malicious. They might have suffered losses in his hands, but itʼs only when exchanging words with him. The Elders and Faction Leader will occasionally use their superior strength to bully him since heʼs always bullying them with his sharp tongue.

Everyone was still silent, Klaus didnʼt care and looked in the direction of the young man, ”Itʼs nice doing business with you. Whenever you have any good things, donʼt hesitate to come to me. My initial offer still stands, as long as itʼs worth it, I donʼt mind offering to teach you my special means.”

Klausʼ words looked like he was on friendly terms with the young man, but when everyone saw the young manʼs face which had almost turned bright red from a hint of rage, they knew that the other party was already regretting making a bet with Klaus. Who would want to make a bet with such a monster again? Wouldnʼt that be giving out oneʼs possessions to others for free?

If Klaus knew that these people regarded him as a monster, he would laugh his heart off. In Klausʼ head, no one deserved the title monster other than Grey. If anyone said they were a monster, then how would they describe Grey? A monster among monsters? Even Klaus felt that might be a bit demeaning to Grey.

He has spared with Grey on a few occasions, other than during the early years of their friendship, he has never spared with Grey alone! Alice and Reynolds were also by his side, and each of these two was no worse than himself, yet even after restricting Grey from using his favored space element, they still werenʼt able to come out on top.

Each of them was confident that they could fight two people in the same realm as themselves, yet they couldnʼt defeat Grey, who had one hand tied behind his back. Just the thought of this alone is enough to put Klaus in a depressed mood, luckily, he didnʼt know what these people were thinking, so he didnʼt have such thoughts.

He looked at the young manʼs face, waiting for a response. After a few failed attempts to compose himself, the young man finally said through gritted teeth, ”Since I dared to bet, Iʼm naturally not afraid to lose.”

”Haha, I knew you were an upright person. Iʼll have to thank you in advance for your heartwarming gift.” Klaus laughed in a carefree manner.

When everyone heard his words, they couldnʼt help but feel pity for the young man. What heartwarming gift?! If Klaus didnʼt offer up something even more valuable that enticed the young man, making him take the risk, given how valuable the drop of Ice Crystal is, there was no way the young man wouldʼve been willing to make such a bet.

Klaus didnʼt stand there any longer and walked back to his fellow Faction members. He didnʼt immediately ask for the drop of Ice Crystal cause he knew the young man didnʼt have it with him. So there was no point in asking for such things. Heʼll receive it when heʼs about to enter the Ice Chamber.

For a brief moment, everyone paused, no one sure of what to say. Klaus getting to the Thirteenth floor was even more astonishing than the power of the oceanʼs floor which he displayed some minutes ago.

Seeing no one taking the initiative, Faction Leader Beatrice gave a wry smile and stepped up. She knew the others were currently too shocked to speak. The truth is, she, too, has experienced this before with Klaus. When Klaus first came to the Faction, he shattered her entire worldview. Initially, Moonlight Faction made the exception of accepting Klaus due to them wanting to create some sort of ties with Grey after he rejected their offer. But after seeing that Klausʼ potential in this field was so unprecedented, they poured out their resources and diligently cultivated him. If not, why would he have such a high status even though he was the only male in the Faction?
