Affinity: Chaos

Chapter 1706: I Was A Little Careless

Lord Dante, seeing that Grey was truly challenging for the top spot, couldnʼt help but have a bad feeling about offering to take Grey personally into his treasury to pick up whichever darkness elemental treasure he wanted. The fact that Grey moved after hearing this meant that he was confident, but which genius isnʼt confident in their abilities?

He believed Grey only believed he could achieve it, but he didnʼt think could really achieve it. Naturally the Elders, and someone like him has heard of Grey Dawson, the person the Gnomes want dead. This fact alone is enough to show that he wasnʼt ordinary, but getting into the top ten in a competition that has multiple Seventh and Eighth stage Sovereign is nigh impossible.

The entire arena was abuzz when they saw that Grey challenged this young lady. Sheʼs known as the number one under the Late stages in the entire Pyro Faction. Even the Elders who are in the Sixth stage of the Sovereign Plane for hundreds of years now are unable to defeat him. Thinking of how easy it was for Grey to dispose of his previous opponent, the crowd felt excitement at the prospect of the upcoming match. Theyʼve never been this agitated for a battle since the start of the competition. Even the Elders were looking intensely.

The young lady Grey previously defeated quickly took out her opponent, and then hurriedly turned her focus back to Grey. She initially wanted to challenge him once again, since she felt that his victory over her was a mistake on her part. She underestimated her opponent, and paid for it. She wasnʼt the only one with such thoughts, most of the youths felt the same way. Only the top Elders knew that Greyʼs victory was no fluke, but his pure overwhelming strength over his opponent.

All eyes were on the duo standing opposite each other.

Even if Grey defeats this young lady, it wonʼt take away her spot in top forty since Grey was already on the list, he would only go to the very top of the list. Among those in the Mid stages, this young lady was ranked number one, and Grey wanted that position so he could face

people in the Seventh stage and higher.

”Everyoneʼs watching.” The young lady blushed shyly, ”I hope I donʼt embarrass myself.”

Greyʼs expression has been the same, even his eyes didnʼt show any difference.

The young lady pouted, ”Youʼre no fun.”

With that statement, she exploded out, attacking aggressively.

Boom!

Her attack was strong, and so was the impact.

But Grey stood behind an earth wall. Cracks appeared on the wall, but it didnʼt fall apart. This was the first attack from the young lady, and he has shown that he could defend against it.

This was the second element Grey was using after already using the lightning element to boost his speed. He used the lightning element once again, and a flash of red lightning could be seen on the platform that dashed towards the young lady.

The young lady didnʼt panic as she prepared to block the attack. An ice wall rose, blocking Greyʼs path. Sheʼs a Dual Elementalist, having the fire and water element. People like her were rare since both elements were complete opposites.

Grey punched a hole into the ice wall before continuing on his path of destruction.

The young lady attacked as soon as the ice wall was broken. While also covering herself with an ice sphere.

Buzz! Bang!

A bolt of lightning dropped from the sky at breakneck speed, landing directly on the ice sphere.

Creak...

The sound of the ice sphere cracking resonated on the platform, before it finally fell apart. The moment the ice sphere was falling apart, Greyʼs figure, which had already dealt with the young ladyʼs attack, appeared.

The heart of the young lady, as well as the audience skipped. They all knew from Greyʼs previous battle that if he gets too close to anyone, then his victory is guaranteed. Given how easy it was for him to punch through the ice wall as well as grab a hold of his previous opponent, they could all tell that his physique is nothing like theyʼve ever seen before.

The young lady didnʼt dare to allow Grey get too close, she quickly retreated, creating a gap between the duo. Grey expected this, and a lightning bolt struck the area the young lady headed.

Now she was caught in two minds. If she tried to retreat, she didnʼt have her ice sphere any longer, so she would have to face the lightning bolt head-on, which was a bit dangerous. However, that wasnʼt as dangerous as the second option, which was duking it out with Grey who seemingly has a better physique than anyone she has ever seen, barring Magical Beasts.

She gritted her teeth and faced the lightning head-on, she was a genius, a top Sixth stage Sovereign who was already very close to the Seventh stage.

Bang!

She took the lightning attack, and only had to retreat a few steps thanks to using the fire element to attack it just as it was about to strike. She didnʼt just block the attack last minute, she also managed to get a clean strike on Grey with her fireball.

Her breath was calm, she looked into the dust cloud that rose from taking Greyʼs lightning bolt, and also dishing out an attack of her own that struck Greyʼs figure.

The dust died down, and Greyʼs figure could be seen standing on the platform. His top was tattered, and his skin could be seen.

”I was a little careless.” Grey grabbed his top with one hand, and removed it. It was already torn, thereʼs no point keeping it on. Luckily his trousers werenʼt damaged.

His upper body appeared in front of everyone, and the young lady froze for a few seconds when she saw Greyʼs well chiseled body. Under his top, itʼs very hard to notice that his body was this well-built, and only after his top was destroyed were they able to see him shirtless.
