Rebirth: General, Don't Mess Around!

Ye Jian, who was holding her cell phone, missed her boyfriend even more when she heard the sounds of firecrackers and fireworks.

Her nose was a little stuffy. She took a deep breath to get rid of the bitterness in her heart. Then, she began muttering to herself.

”Don’t worry about me. Take good care of yourself and protect yourself. Please think about me occasionally. Don’t forget what I look like after not seeing me for a year. If that happens, I’ll be very sad.

”However, I believe that you won’t forget me. You love me so much. How can you forget me?

”I believe that you miss me too despite being far away. You must also want to return to the country as soon as possible so that you can meet me, right?

”You’re far away, but I’ll wait for you here. I hope that everything will be fine. I’ll wait for you to come back.”

Fireworks were blooming in the distance. They seemed to have heard Ye Jian’s wish and bloomed into the sky one after another, looking resplendent in the night sky. The firecrackers marked the new year, telling the world that a new year had arrived. New hope was here.

Xia Jinyuan, who was standing on the deck of a boat, looked at the fireworks on the other side of the river. The colorful fireworks reflected in his deep black eyes. Countless lights flickered, hiding the longing in the depths of his eyes.

It was another new year. He was only a river away from his country. This was the first time in the past year he was close to the borders of his country.

The sound of firecrackers and fireworks were majestic. It was a prosperous scene.

He wondered what his lover was doing at this moment. Was she accompanying the old man in the capital city? Or was she in the military unit?

She was in her third year, and it was time for her to be sent to the grassroots company to study. The possibility of her going back to the capital city to accompany the old man for the new year wasn’t high. She would probably be sent to the company.

He didn’t know if his little fox, who was sent to the company, was getting along well with the other soldiers. She should be able to forge harmonious friendships now. His little fox had grown up and become more outgoing. She wasn’t as cold as when she was young.

She was smart and capable. She would definitely rely on her ability to create her own path wherever she went.

”Hey, Xia, what are you doing? Why aren’t you going in to drink with the pretty ladies?”

He heard staggering footsteps behind him. From the sound of the footsteps, he knew that the person who spoke was pissed drunk from his slurred speech. Xia Jinyuan had to listen carefully to know what he was saying.

Xia Jinyuan turned around and saw Luke, who was talking to him. While walking, he suddenly fell forward. Xia Jinyuan quickly grabbed him and said calmly, ”You’re drunk, Luke.”

”Oh, yes, I’m drunk. There are so many beauties and so many good drinks. Burp…” The drunk Luke burped heavily as he spoke. Xia Jinyuan smelled the alcohol and pushed the drunk man to the side with a look of disdain. He needed fresh air.

”Hahaha, don’t hide. Xia, do you like men? Hahaha, come on, Xia, I like both men and women. Since we’re friends, I don’t mind sleeping with you…”

Holding a half-empty bottle of whiskey in his hand, Luke smiled lewdly and pounced on Xia Jinyuan.

He didn’t like men. He was just talking nonsense because he was drunk.

”Luke, do you know which river our boat is sailing on?” Xia Jinyuan dodged, avoiding Luke’s lunge. The cold river breeze was filled with the smell of alcohol. Xia Jinyuan felt like vomiting when he smelled it.

He didn’t have the habit of smoking and drinking. Even when he was with these people, he never made an exception.
