Rebirth: General, Don't Mess Around!

Ye Jian didn’t hesitate and replied firmly, ”I’m sure. That day, I met him on the train. Right on the heels of that, I got sneak attacked when I got off the train. Today, after he appeared, I was targeted by those pickpockets wanting to take revenge. He’s the most suspicious!”

”Lock onto this person first!” The captain of the third squadron immediately gave the order and started searching for the man through all the cameras in the train station.

Unfortunately, the man was no longer at the train station. An hour after the four pickpockets were caught, the man left the train station vigilantly.

However, since the man’s appearance was confirmed, it was much easier to capture him.

The next morning, at 7:30 am, Ye Jian found out that the man was caught in a hotel. When he was caught, they found several wallets in his room. There was a large amount of cash. As for the huge denim backpack he was carrying, there were just some dolls of various sizes.

When Ding Ling found out about it, she remembered the time when she was hit by the suspect’s denim backpack. Realization dawned on her. ”So that’s why it didn’t hurt at all when I was hit by his backpack. As it turns out, it was filled with dolls!”

That night, the suspect boldly entered the train carriage where the students were sitting. He did it for no other reason than to see what the female student looked like.

Ye Jian’s sneak attack was only possible because he remembered her appearance.

The suspect was directly brought to the police station. Interrogating him was out of Ye Jian’s job scope. Ye Jian, who was standing guard, didn’t want to ask about the follow-up. Her mission was to stand at the last post of Class One today.

It was not until 7:00 pm on New Year’s Eve that the entire train station gradually became empty. Ye Jian and the others could only rest at 11:00 pm.

They didn’t rest in the train station. The whistle blew, and the three teams that were assigned to the train station immediately lined up. Without informing the police, they left in the vehicles prepared.

The armed police knew about it and had already wished them a happy new year in advance. After Ye Jian and the rest returned to the team, the police and the armed police only knew that her codename was ’No. 1’. They didn’t know her name.

When the students returned to the camp, it was already past one in the morning. The comrades from the cooking team had prepared a sumptuous dinner. Although they missed the festivities because of their mission, the students were still very happy. At one in the morning, they all ate their dinner in the cafeteria.

A new year had arrived. Ye Jian stood quietly on the roof of the barracks. She was holding her cell phone that was getting hot. She looked into the distance. That was the direction of the city. The lights lit up half of the night sky.

Everyone was reunited there. They were laughing and enjoying the best festival of the year.

Ye Jian clicked on her cell phone and entered the message box. She opened the message that was filled with love and read the hundred-word message that she had already memorized.

[Captain Xia, Happy New Year.]

Ye Jian smiled gently. ’Happy New Year, Captain Xia. We’re a few days away from an entire year of not seeing each other. How are you?

’I’m fine. You don’t have to worry about me. I’ve gotten used to the life outside and the life in the company. I won’t be as unsociable as before. I won’t be a loner.’
