Checking in for 100,000 Years

Chapter 425: Chapter 425: Black Sky Burial Ground, The Great Clanking of Chains

”Brothers, that mysterious Sword Cultivator from outside the realm, his swordsmanship is extraordinary, truly formidable. I’ve never witnessed such powerful and terrifying sword skills in my entire life.”

The Dragon Raiser known as Seventh Brother, lying within his coffin, had a flicker of terror in his eyes.

Even now, the mere thought of Ye Yun made his entire body shudder uncontrollably.

Back then, he had been on the verge of being killed by a single sword strike from that man.

”Such a powerful Sword Cultivator... could he be from the Sword Pavilion?” a dull voice queried.

”Impossible. It can’t be the Sword Pavilion. They wouldn’t dare lay a hand on our Dragon Raiser Lineage, not unless they’ve all gone mad,” another, older voice remarked.

”Boss, regardless of anything else, Seventh Brother has been injured this time. We must find a way to avenge him,” yet another voice chimed in, filled with righteous indignation.

”We cannot leave this place for now.”

Within another Covert Dragon Coffin, a black-robed elder spoke with a solemn expression, ”As the Seven Supreme Gods, we guard this abyss. We absolutely cannot all depart from this place simultaneously.”

”What’s the harm in leaving just once, Boss? That thing in the abyss has been suppressed for so many years and has no chance of escape. How could the seal jointly placed by three Divine Kings be broken so easily?” another voice said, unconcerned.

”Indeed, Boss! While guarding the abyss, we also need to use containers to gather the physical energy of that creature within it. The last container is almost ready now,” a different voice added.

After speaking, as if still not quite satisfied, his black Covert Dragon Coffin trembled slightly, and a black ray of light shot down into the abyss.

A coffin was seen rising from the black fog, levitating above the abyss.

This was a black Covert Dragon Coffin, identical to theirs, only the Super Divine Dragon Breath it emanated was significantly weaker.

”Very well. Once this container is complete, we will then seek out that Sword Cultivator for revenge,” the elderly man considered for a moment before nodding.

”Haha, Boss, you’ve finally agreed! It hasn’t been easy. We’ve been guarding this place for nearly one hundred thousand years. It’s been far too long...” the Dragon Raisers in the other Covert Dragon Coffins began to voice their complaints.

”Alright, that’s enough. Everyone, quickly help Seventh Brother heal,” the Dragon Raiser known as ”Boss” in one of the Seven Sleeping Dragon Coffins said hurriedly, his brow furrowed.

”Understood!”

The other Dragon Raisers agreed in unison. Six black Covert Dragon Coffins simultaneously emitted beams of light, pouring them into the seventh Covert Dragon Coffin.

Receiving this surging influx of energy, the injuries of the Dragon Raiser called Seventh Brother began to heal rapidly.

The black Covert Dragon Coffin hovering above the abyss slowly descended again, vanishing into the endless black fog.

CLANG! CLANG!

From the depths of the abyss echoed the loud clang of chains, as if some great beast was moving within.

But the seven black Sleeping Dragon Coffins seemed oblivious to it.

The black mist churned, and a giant black claw flashed out from the mist, trying to claw its way free.

But immediately, countless runes flickered on the cliff face above the abyss. They lit up with a layer of silver light that descended, forcefully pressing down the black, scale-covered claw.

BOOM! BOOM!

Violent impacts resounded from the depths of the abyss, shaking the very earth.

Yet the Seven Sleeping Dragon Coffins remained still, floating calmly within the black mist, apparently long accustomed to such occurrences.

This time, I should be able to locate their lair, right?

Sensing that the Dragon Raiser had lingered in a specific location for some time, a smile of excitement touched Ye Yun’s lips.

This time, he intended to infiltrate the Dragon Raisers’ main lair and uncover the secrets of the container.

Taking Liu Yiyi’s hand, Ye Yun tore through the void and vanished.

「The next moment.」

The pair emerged from the void near a vast land enveloped by black fog.

”Where are we?”

Scanning the area ahead, Ye Yun realized his Divine Sense couldn’t penetrate very far. The black fog, brimming with a strange energy, acted as a significant barrier, hindering and absorbing his Divine Sense.

Looking around, Ye Yun noted that the black fog shrouded the vast land endlessly, making it impossible to gauge its true extent.

”Brother Yun, who would have thought this is the Black Sky Burial Ground... The Dragon Raisers’ lair is actually hidden in this place!” Liu Yiyi gazed at the limitless black fog before them, her expression one of shock as she exclaimed.

”The Black Sky Burial Ground? What’s that?” Ye Yun raised an eyebrow, asking softly.

Gazing at the black fog with fear in her eyes, Liu Yiyi whispered, ”Brother Yun, the Black Sky Burial Ground is the most mysterious place in the Daluo Region. It’s renowned in the Divine Land and considered a Forbidden Area for Gods. Spiritual cultivators are forbidden from entering; any who dare to do so usually perish...”

”Is it really that terrifying?” Ye Yun’s eyes widened slightly as he looked at the Black Sky Burial Ground once more.

The Dragon Raisers are truly cunning, hiding their lair in such a place. No wonder no one could enter.

Perhaps it wasn’t just the black fog that was lethal; the real danger... came from the Dragon Raisers themselves.

”Come on, let’s go in and take a look,” Ye Yun said with a smile, taking Liu Yiyi’s hand as they flew into the black fog.

A divine glow burst from Ye Yun’s body, enveloping Liu Yiyi. The black fog immediately recoiled wherever it encountered this radiance.

Ye Yun reached out and grabbed a handful of the black fog. As he silently examined it, he was surprised to discover that the fog was saturated with a dark, deathly aura.

If an average True God Realm Cultivator were to be assailed by this deathly aura, they would likely perish within a short time.

Only cultivators at the Divine Monarch Realm could linger here for up to half a day.

Cultivators of the Divine Sovereign Realm could remain for even longer.

”Yiyi, you’ve been in the Daluo Region for so long. Have you never visited the Black Sky Burial Ground before?” Ye Yun asked with a smile, looking around leisurely.

Liu Yiyi’s face flushed slightly as she whispered, ”Brother Yun, I only caught a glimpse from the periphery. After sensing how terrifying the black fog was, I never dared to venture further in.”

Ye Yun nodded upon hearing her explanation.

Liu Yiyi continued, ”Brother Yun, no one knows what strange entity the Black Sky Burial Ground has sealed. However, people often report hearing tremendous sounds emanating from deep within.”

”It actually sealed something?” Ye Yun asked, taken aback.

”It could be an ancient Ferocious Beast, or an evil Demon God... You can often hear the sound of rattling chains,” Liu Yiyi explained in a low voice, looking around as if searching for that very sound.

Just then, deep within the fog, the loud RATTLE! RATTLE! of chains being dragged echoed once more.

Ye Yun’s expression changed slightly.

The sound was faint, yet still discernible.

A massive creature seemed to be shackled by chains.

Could it be a dragon? Such a guess immediately sprang to Ye Yun’s mind.

Given that the Dragon Raisers specialized in dealing with the Dragon Clan, it would make sense if they had sealed a Divine Dragon.

However, this idea seemed a bit far-fetched.

The Dragon Raisers were extremely powerful, rumored to have Divine King Realm powerhouses among them. Why would they seal a Divine Dragon rather than subdue it?

Given their bizarre and formidable methods, even subduing a Divine King Realm Divine Dragon probably wouldn’t pose much of a challenge to them.
