Chaotic Sword God

“The mountain peak is too small. Looks like I’ll have to bring the seed of ways to a lower region,” Jian Chen said to himself. He understood that if he remained in the region near the mountain top, he would be found before long. Only by venturing to a lower region would he have sufficient time to refine the seed of ways.

Right when Jian Chen made up his mind, his expression suddenly changed. Through the Skyscraping Sword Venerable’s secret technique, he had already discovered several Immortal Exalts rapidly approaching him from several thousand kilometres away.

“I can’t stay here for long. I need to leave quickly.” With no other choice, Jian Chen could only grip the seed of ways in one hand. He locked it firmly in his hand before quickly leaving this place.

“As long as I make my way half way down the mountain or off the mountain entirely, it won’t be that easy for these Immortal Exalts to find me anymore,” Jian Chen thought rapidly as he flew, considering his next plans.

But at this moment, the seed of ways in his hand seemed to realise the fate awaiting it. It began to struggle violently.

Jian Chen snorted gently. His Chaotic Force erupted, turning his hand into an iron clamp. He trapped the seed of ways in his hand firmly. No matter how the seed of ways struggled, it was unable to break free from his clasp.

Very soon, the seed of ways seemed to realise that it was wasting its strength, but it refused to be trapped like this. In the next moment, blinding light erupted in Jian Chen’s hand. Powerful sword intent surged out from the seed of ways, spreading into the distance in an unstoppable manner.

In the Skyscraping World, the influence of the formations on the seed of ways seemed to be minimised, allowing the sword intent to spread several hundred thousand kilometres away instantly.

That was not even the limit. As time progressed, the sword Qi reached further and further.

Jian Chen’s face immediately changed when this happened. He seemed to be rather surprised as well.

His heart sank. He never thought that the seed of ways would create a mess like this. The current situation was rather different from the rumours.

Jian Chen tried everything he could to suppress and isolate the sword intent radiating from the seed of ways.

Unfortunately, the seed of ways seemed to possess special authority in the Skyscraping World, and it was also strengthened slightly by the formations present. Nothing that Jian Chen tried could suppress it. He could only allow the seed of ways to let out its distress signal in his hand.

“Hmm? This sword Qi… it’s the seed of ways…”

“The seed of ways has appeared in the south-eastern direction…”

“Quick, quick, quick. We have to get there before the others this time.”

“That’s strange. Why is the seed of ways’ sword Qi being emitted from so far away? If I remember correctly, it wasn’t like this in the past…”

“I’ve already travelled several tens of thousand kilometres, and I’ve actually yet to reach the source of this sword intent. Just how far away did the seed of ways go? According to previous experiences, the seed of ways won’t create such a great disturbance apart from when it first emerges…”

......

…

The sword Qi that the seed of ways gave off by itself was like a lantern in the dark. It immediately attracted countless people.

For a moment, the Immortal Exalts who ran around aimlessly all locked onto the precise location of the seed of ways before rushing in from all directions.

Immediately, Jian Chen’s location turned into the eye of the storm. Immortal Exalts converged from all directions to block him off, forming an encirclement around him.

Jian Chen was stern. He sent the Thousand Soul Demon Exalt into the Primeval Divine Hall before gripping the seed of ways in one hand. Determination flooded his eyes. He chose a direction and rushed off.

Very soon, he encountered the first group of Immortal Exalts.

“I’ve found the seed of ways! Hmm? The seed of ways is actually in Yang Yutian’s hand.”

“Dammit, Yang Yutian is only an Immortal Emperor. How is he the first one to obtain the seed of ways…”

The two incoming Immortal Exalts were surprised as if they found it rather difficult to believe what they were saying. Shortly afterwards, they struck without hesitation. They immediately erupted with their tremendous powers, swinging their god artifacts at Jian Chen at the same time.

“Yang Yutian, leave behind the seed of ways…” The two Immortal Exalts howled out furiously as they launched powerful attacks.

Jian Chen did not clash with them. He wore the Divine Armour of Heavenflight, but he did not use its concealment ability. Instead, he channelled his Chaotic Force into the armour, completely unleashing its defensive power.

Boom! With a great rumble, the powerful attacks from the two Immortal Exalts struck Jian Chen at the same time. The powerful storm of energy wreaked havoc in the surroundings, throwing Jian Chen far away.

Jian Chen grunted. The Divine Armour of Heavenflight blocked most of the power, but the force behind the attacks still rocked his organs.

Making use of this opportunity, he appeared a hundred kilometres away with a flash through the Laws of Space. Afterwards, he did not stop. He took another step and immediately escaped from the range that the two Immortal Exalts could sense.

“Go after him!”

The two Immortal Exalts immediately pursued him. With the presence of the seed of ways as their guide, they were not afraid of losing track of him.

Jian Chen used the Laws of Space to move swiftly. Very soon, he encountered more Immortal Exalts. He used the same method to bypass them by resisting an attack and using the Laws of Space to flee into the distance.

Like that, Jian Chen was intercepted several times. In order to avoid becoming surrounded, he did not try to fight them at all. He simply focused on fleeing.

Very soon, all of the Immortal Exalts that gathered over were shaken off by Jian Chen like this. The encirclement turned into a pursuit.

“Just how long is the seed of ways going to take before it stops this?”

As Jian Chen focused on fleeing with the Laws of Space, he felt extremely pained. He looked at the seed of ways that constantly emitted powerful sword intent. For a moment, he could not make up his mind about discarding it or not.

Carrying it around, even the Divine Armour of Heavenflight was useless. The Divine Armour of Heavenflight could not hide the seed of ways, so concealing himself was pointless.

“Oh no.” Jian Chen used his secret technique to sense the situation behind him. He discovered that many of the Immortal Exalts had vanished, which gave him an ill feeling.

Sure enough, when he reached a fork, surging energy erupted loudly. Within the blinding light, formations after formations appeared, trapping Jian Chen like a prison.

“Hahahaha, Yang Yutian, let’s see where you’re running off to now…”

“Yang Yutian, just hand over the seed of ways obediently. You’re not destined to possess it.”

“Yang Yutian, if you didn’t thirst for the seed of ways, we’d truly be powerless over you. Unfortunately, you are too greedy. A single seed of ways will completely bury you…”

Figures of Immortal Exalts appeared around the formation, surrounding Jian Chen through the screens of light. There were around a dozen of them.

On top of that, as the Immortal Exalts pursuing behind arrived, the Immortal Exalts gathered here constantly increased.

In just a few seconds, almost forty Immortal Exalts had gathered outside the formation.

Gazing at Jian Chen who was trapped inside, many of the Immortal Exalts laughed.

Encircled, Jian Chen did not panic at all. He stood in the centre of the formation with composure and raised the shining seed of ways before him. He smiled and said, “The seed of ways this time might be different from before. If you possess it, you won’t be able to hide at all. If I were to hand the seed of ways to you, would you be able to maintain possession over it?”

“That’s not something for you to worry about. Yang Yutian, as long as you hand over the seed of ways, I won’t make things difficult for you,” a Third Heavenly Layer Immortal Exalt said sternly.

“If the seed of ways were in the hands of others, at least we still have a chance at competing for it. However, if it’s in your hands, you’ll just send us on a wild goose chase everywhere. Just with the Laws of Space that you possess, it’s difficult for us to catch you. If you decide to play hide-and-seek, it’ll be even tougher for us.” Another Immortal Exalt fumed. His voice was filled with a sense of helplessness.

“Yeah, Yang Yutian. Hand over the seed of ways, and I’ll swear that I’ll stop coming after you…”

“Hmph, Yang Yutian, you’re already trapped. Do you still think you have the right to bargain with us…”

“If you weren’t trapped, then we would only want the seed of ways. But since you are trapped, you’ll be coughing up far more than just the seed of ways…”

......

…

The Immortal Exalts outside the formation all spoke up. Many of them looked at Jian Chen with a multitude of feelings.
