Chaotic Sword God

“She truly is a daughter of a heavenly emperor. This Xing Caijian’s strength is anything but simple,” Jian Chen thought to himself. He had never seen Xing Caijian’s abilities, so he was unable to gauge her strength at all.

He was secretly surprised, but he showed none of it on the surface. He clasped his fist towards Xing Caijian and said, “So it’s fellow Xing Caijian. May I ask why you’re here? I’m not too sure about what you’re saying.”

Xing Caijian stared straight at Jian Chen in interest as if her gaze was particularly penetrating, wanting to see through Jian Chen’s entirety.

“Fellow, please don’t stare at me like that. It leaves me very uncomfortable.” Jian Chen smiled.

Xing Caijian was unfazed. “Before I found you, I encountered Lan Caidie from the Ghost Immortal cult.”

“Lan Caidie? The vice cult leader of the Ghost Immortal cult?” Jian Chen’s gaze changed slightly.

“That’s right. She is one of the vice cult leaders of the Ghost Immortal cult. She gained the recognition of an extremely powerful Remains of the Ghost Immortal from the Ghost Immortal cult. She possesses extremely great status in the Ghost Immortal cult, standing above thousands.”

“She has already told me about everything that occurred between you and her several days ago,” Xing Caijian said.

Jian Chen furrowed his brows slightly when he heard that. “She’s told you everything? Looks like your Heavenly Star Palace and the Ghost Immortal cult are quite close since she even told you this.”

“Our Heavenly Star Palace has shown the Ghost Immortal cult great kindness in the past, so when it comes to many matters, the Ghost Immortal cult won’t try to hide it from us at all.” Xing Caijian paused before continuing, “I heard from Lan Caidie that you have an Immortal Exalt hidden by your side?”

“That’s right!” Jian Chen did not deny it.

“The Immortal Exalt is of the demonic path?” Xing Caijian continued to ask.

Seeing how Jian Chen nodded, she immediately furrowed her brows and said, “Hiding an Immortal Exalt of the demonic path by your side is a huge source of potential trouble. With their cultivation, they’re not that easy to control. You better be careful about facing betrayal at a certain time. All of your fortunes will end up becoming theirs.”

“Thank you for your concern, fellow Xing Caijian. Since I’m bold enough to keep him by my side, I’m obviously not concerned about any betrayal,” Jian Chen said with utmost confidence. Unless he lost the Source of Life, there were no Fourth Heavenly Layer Immortal Exalts that could kill him even if he simply stood there without budging.

Xing Caijian said nothing more. She stood where she was in momentary silence. She was very tempted to ask Jian Chen about the mysterious formation that rivalled Lan Caidie’s Remains of the Ghost Immortal, as well as the several tens of thousand Nine-heavenly Xuan Immortals.

She was extremely curious about this, as the matter puzzled her very much.

But upon further thought, she decided against it. It seemed like she was also aware that asking about someone’s secret like this was extremely inappropriate.

“Senior sword venerable’s lingering will has already dissipated completely, but before he passed away, he should have told you about all the medicinal gardens that exist in the Skyscraping World, right?” Xing Caijian changed the topic. This was the main reason why she was looking for Jian Chen.

Jian Chen nodded and said, “The medicinal gardens have been consuming the spiritual Qi of the Skyscraping World insatiably. If these medicinal gardens remain, then the Skyscraping World won’t last for too long. As a result, senior sword venerable wanted me to cooperate with you in cleaning up these medicinal gardens.”

With a flip of Xing Caijian’s hand, a palm-sized jade disc appeared out of nowhere. It was engraved with complicated and profound patterns. She lifted up the jade disc and said, “This jade disc is connected to the formations of the Skyscraping World. It can borrow a wisp of the formations’ power. This power cannot be used against enemies. It can only be used to locate the medicinal gardens in the Skyscraping World.”

“Originally, senior sword venerable wanted me to hand this to you, as I’ve already received a secret technique from senior sword venerable. As such, I can find these medicinal gardens even without using the jade disc.”

“But in his final moments, senior sword venerable changed his mind, as he did not want you to offend even more people over this.”

Xing Caijian stared straight at Jian Chen and said sternly, “I’ve specially come to find you for one reason alone. Are you going to accept this jade disc or not?”

“If you accept it, then you will carry out senior sword venerable’s final wish and clear the Skyscraping World of medicinal gardens. The consequence is that you will offend many peak organisations.”

“If you refuse, then I’ll take this jade disc with me. I will personally clear out all the medicinal gardens in the Skyscraping World.”

“If I refuse, I’m afraid you’ll look down on me.” Jian Chen chuckled.

Xing Caijian stared straight at Jian Chen. She said nothing.

Jian Chen was right. If he refused, she would look down on him slightly. In her view, the burden he bore as the successor of the twin swords was extraordinary. Someone like him was not supposed to be overcautious or timid when handling matters.

If he was afraid of this and afraid of that, then he would only bring shame to the twin swords.

“Hand it over then. I’ve benefited from senior sword venerable’s kindness, so I obviously can’t disappoint him.” Jian Chen opened his hand.

“Before I give this to you, have you considered the consequences you will face once you do this?” Xing Caijian asked once again to confirm.

“I’ve even killed a great elder from the Immortal Feather sect. Do you think I’ll fear this?” Jian Chen laughed.

When she heard that, Xing Caijian’s eyes narrowed. She glanced deeply at Jian Chen and stopped hesitating, directly tossing over the jade disc to him.

Jian Chen caught the jade disc in his hand. As he channelled a weak flow of energy inside, an illusionary screen rose up from the jade disc before quickly taking the shape of a mountain.

Jian Chen recognised the illusionary mountain with a single glance. That was the Skyscraping World in the whole!

At this moment, various small, red specks flickered on the mountain. There were over a hundred of them.

Jian Chen’s gaze was fixated on the red dots. He clearly understood that each red dot represented a medicinal garden.

Although he knew the Skyscraping Sword Venerable’s secret technique and could capture all signs of activity within an area through it, the Skyscraping World was far too large. Trying to find the medicinal gardens one by one through this technique was still like searching for a needle in a haystack.

But it was different now that he had obtained this map. Through this map, he could gain a rough grasp of the locations of all the medicinal gardens in the Skyscraping World.

Jian Chen’s lips gradually curled into a smile. Xing Caijian’s map had come at the perfect timing.

However, the map could only locate the medicinal gardens. The various other opportunities hiding in the Skyscraping World were still as mysterious as the mist.

“There just happens to be a medicinal garden several hundred thousand kilometres in front of us.” Jian Chen stowed away the jade disc and looked at Xing Caijian.

“What are you waiting for then? Go destroy it,” Xing Caijian said with no further thought. Shortly afterwards, she used the secret technique and sensed for it, confirming its location very soon. She took a step and immediately vanished.

“Several thousand kilometres with each step! In the Skyscraping World, she’s actually even faster than me.” Jian Chen was surprised. He immediately followed behind her.

Very soon, the two of them arrived before the medicinal garden several hundred thousand kilometres away. The medicinal garden was enveloped in a formation. Its defences were so powerful that even mid Immortal Exalts would struggle to breach it.

Over three hundred heavenly resources were growing in the medicinal garden.

“Fellow, may I ask how you will destroy this formation?” Jian Chen stood to one side, with no intention of taking action. Instead, he glanced at Xing Caijian, wishing to witness her capabilities in person.
