Chaotic Sword God

Jian Chen continued to wander through the Skyscraping World without a direction in mind. He moved extremely quickly. He only needed a few steps to travel a thousand kilometres.

“The Hundred Superimposition Sword has a total of a hundred superimpositions, while I have only grasped five superimpositions so far. It’s more than enough to threaten late Immortal Emperors, but it’s probably still lacking a little before it can threaten Immortal Exalts…” Jian Chen closely recalled the power of the five superimpositions along the way and gained a rough estimate very quickly.

He recalled the situation when he faced the Seven Antelope Ancestor. Outside the cave where the Spiritual Fruit of Sword Nurturing grew, he had momentarily obstructed the Seven Antelope Ancestor. Faced against a Second Heavenly Layer Immortal Exalt, he could only rely on the Source of Life to heal himself. Without the Shadowless Lifetaking Strike, he could not even leave a scratch on the Seven Antelope Ancestor even if he used his full strength.

He was only a mid Immortal Emperor after all. The difference between him and a Second Heavenly Layer Immortal Exalt was so large that it could not be made up for by the Chaotic Body and high quality god artifacts.

Although he had grasped five superimpositions of the Hundred Superimposition Sword, allowing his battle prowess to multiply by five, the increase only applied to regular attacks. It could not make the Shadowless Lifetaking Strike five times stronger.

It was not just the Shadowless Lifetaking Strike. The Profound Sword Qi could not be strengthened either.

As a result, the Hundred Superimposition Sword did not bring Jian Chen too great of a strength increase currently.

“The Hundred Superimposition Sword is actually a secret technique. Secret techniques can’t be used on secret techniques. However, it has plenty of room for growth. If I can comprehend up to the seventh or eighth superimposition, then it should be able to rival the Shadowless Lifetaking Strike.”

“If I can reach the tenth superimposition, then it’ll definitely have surpassed the Shadowless Lifetaking Strike and the tenth superimposition is only a tenth of the Hundred Superimposition Sword’s full power…”

Jian Chen was eager for the future. He had already made up his mind about devoting great effort towards comprehending the Hundred Superimposition Sword after leaving the Skyscraping World. He had to comprehend it to the tenth superimposition at the very least as soon as possible.

At this moment, Jian Chen sensed the surroundings using the secret technique from the Skyscraping Sword Venerable, and he seemed to notice something. After a short pause, he changed directions.

Several seconds later, Jian Chen had arrived ten thousand kilometres away. Hazy light rose up in front of him as the spiritual Qi in the surroundings gathered towards this place.

This was a medicinal garden established by a major organisation in the Immortals’ World.

The medicinal garden was protected by a powerful formation. As the formation operated, it rapidly gathered the spiritual Qi in the surroundings, which greatly diminished the spiritual Qi in the Skyscraping World. However, the medicinal garden was abundant with spiritual Qi, having already formed a thick white mist. From time to time, there would even be condensed droplets of spiritual Qi falling as rain.

Through the mist, Jian Chen could vaguely make out heavenly resources swaying gently and shining with hazy light.

Jian Chen stared at the heavenly resources through the formation. He could not help but think of the Skyscraping Sword Venerable’s final request.

That was to clear up all the medicinal gardens that had been established in the Skyscraping World.

These medicinal gardens absorbed the spiritual Qi of the Skyscraping World greedily. Before the Skyscraping Sword Venerable had completed his promise with the Heavenly Star Palace, there was obviously enough spiritual Qi in the Skyscraping World to support them all.

But now, the spiritual Qi through the entire Skyscraping World had diminished drastically. If these medicinal gardens remained, the Skyscraping World would face destruction before long.

“The Immortal Cloud Tower!” Jian Chen raised his head and discovered a stone tablet hovering thirty metres in the air. Three large words were engraved on there in fancy writing.

Jian Chen had heard of the Immortal Cloud Tower before. They were a peak organisation. It was said that they possessed a Fifth Heavenly Layer Immortal Exalt. One of the people who entered the Skyscraping World this time came from the Immortal Cloud Tower.

However, they were only an early Immortal Emperor great elder, so Jian Chen did not pay too much attention to him.

“Thousand Soul Demon Exalt, there’s work to do.” Without any further thoughts, Jian Chen called the Thousand Soul Demon Exalt out from the Primeval Divine Hall.

Over the years, the Thousand Soul Demon Exalt had spent all of his time recovering in the Primeval Divine Hall. He had absorbed most of the soul from the Third Heavenly Layer Immortal Exalt he had devoured, so when Jian Chen saw the Thousand Soul Demon Exalt again, he could clearly sense that his presence had become much more consolidated.

“Hehehehe, sect master, how may I be of service again?” The Thousand Soul Demon Exalt stood by Jian Chen’s side. There was actually a rare hint of respect in his tone.

Over the years, he seemed to understand many things. As a result, his attitude towards Jian Chen was silently changing.

It was as if he had already begun to place his status beneath Jian Chen’s subconsciously.

“Power the Energy-devouring Furnace and drain the spiritual Qi from this formation!” Jian Chen handed the Energy-devouring Furnace over to the Thousand Soul Demon Exalt. The high quality god artifact would only demonstrate its full strength in the hands of an Immortal Exalt like the Thousand Soul Demon Exalt.

The Thousand Soul Demon Exalt chuckled. He did not say anything more, accepting the Energy-devouring Furnace from Jian Chen and activating it.

As the Energy-devouring Furnace came into effect, a terrifying force engulfed the formation before them and began to rapidly drain its energy.

Jian Chen also made use of the secret technique from the Skyscraping Sword Venerable. Immediately, he seemed to become the ruler of this place. He controlled the spiritual Qi in this region.

Under his control, the spiritual Qi within several thousand kilometres of them rapidly vanished as if it had been repelled by an invisible force.

Very soon, the region of several thousand kilometres seemed to turn into a void. There was no spiritual Qi at all, which isolated the protective formation and prevented it from absorbing spiritual Qi from the surroundings.

Not only could the secret technique from the Skyscraping Sword Venerable gather spiritual Qi, but it could also purge spiritual Qi.

“Hmm? Sect master, that’s impressive.” The Thousand Soul Demon Exalt’s eyes lit up; he could not help but let out a gasp of amazement. The protective formation required energy to continue running. Now that Jian Chen had drained the region of spiritual Qi, it was basically on its last legs.

At this moment, the loss of spiritual Qi seemed to trigger a protective mechanism in the formation. The formation rapidly began to operate faster. Some of its hidden functionalities had been activated as well. It began to absorb spiritual Qi from further away at an even more terrifying rate, continuing until it managed to draw over spiritual Qi from thousands of kilometres away.

When he saw that, Jian Chen sneered. This was the Skyscraping World, a place personally created by the Skyscraping Sword Venerable. The formation before him might have been of high quality, but no one could match the owner of this place when it came to competing for spiritual Qi.

Afterwards, Jian Chen continued to use his secret technique to control the spiritual Qi, firmly fixing the spiritual Qi in the furthest outskirts. No matter how furiously the formation operated, it was nowhere near enough when faced with the Skyscraping Sword Venerable’s secret technique.

“Hehehehe, I’m not worried about the formation replenishing its spiritual Qi, as I have the Energy-devouring Furnace. It won’t be faster than the furnace no matter how quickly it absorbs spiritual Qi, but if it can’t absorb anything at all, then it’ll fall much faster.” The Thousand Soul Demon Exalt laughed.
