Chaotic Sword God

However, whenever the Skyscraping World opened, the seed of ways would only appear in the final moment as the ultimate prize.

After the competition for the seed of ways had concluded, it would be the closing of the Skyscraping World as well. By then, the formations would activate, and everyone in the Skyscraping World would be transported outside.

“According to the previous cases, it will take several years or even several decades to compete for the seed of ways. In order to obtain the seed of ways, not only do you need to face powerful cultivators but there is also the seed of ways itself…”

“Without sufficient opportunity and fortune, even Immortal Exalts might not be able to touch the seed of ways.”

“The Skyscraping World is far too large, and the seed of ways will automatically flee as well. Once it escapes the range of senses of Immortal Exalts, finding the seed of ways is anything but easy in this special environment where the senses of the soul are suppressed…”

......

…

Jian Chen recalled all the information regarding the seed of ways. None of the information in the Skyscraping World was a secret anymore. He had already found out about most of it on the Hall Brilliance Heaven. After all, this place had opened several times before. Many rules had already been thoroughly identified.

“I have the Skyscraping Sword Venerable’s secret technique. As long as I control the spiritual Qi in the surroundings, I can use them as my eyes and sense all disturbances. With this secret technique, at least I’ll have an advantage when it comes to finding the seed of ways once it flees.”

“As long as the seed of ways falls into my hands, it’ll be almost impossible for these Immortal Exalts to steal it again.” Jian Chen could not help but smile confidently. The seed of ways would be his.

At this moment, the entire Skyscraping World began to shake. The ground rocked violently as the spiritual Qi churned. It seemed as if the entire world was experiencing an intense earthquake.

The shaking was so intense that it even affected the internal space of the Skyscraping World. The space rippled like water.

The ripples were present everywhere. They had basically spread through the entire Skyscraping World.

“What’s going on? Don’t tell me the seed of ways has emerged?”

“Impossible. According to the past descriptions, the seed of ways can’t cause such a great disturbance when it emerges, much less make the entire Skyscraping World shake…”

“The records regarding the Skyscraping World have never mentioned such an intense tremor inside the Skyscraping World…”

“Don’t tell me there are supreme experts outside attacking the Skyscraping World…”

......

…

At this moment, all of the cultivators in the Skyscraping World stopped what they were doing, staring at the surroundings in surprise and uncertainty. No one knew what was happening.

Even some of the mid Immortal Exalts had no idea what was happening.

Jian Chen’s face changed too. He studied the surroundings with uncertainty. He could not help but recall the scene that had occurred when he accidentally found Xing Caijian and the Skyscraping Sword Venerable’s lingering will outside the cave.

“Don’t tell me this is connected to the promise that the Skyscraping Sword Venerable was referring to?” Jian Chen thought.

As soon as he thought of that, Jian Chen’s eyes narrowed. He looked at the space around him.

The originally dense mist around him began to thin out at a visible rate.

As the spiritual Qi gradually vanished, visibility improved drastically. It went from being highly limited before gradually fading to a hundred metres and then a thousand metres of visibility.

With the changes in the mist, Jian Chen could clearly sense that the dense spiritual Qi in the entire Skyscraping World was depleting at an unbelievable rate.

Jian Chen was not the only person who noticed this phenomenon. All the cultivators in the Skyscraping World did.

That was because the spiritual Qi did not just thin out in a single region. Instead, it affected the entire Skyscraping World.

The spiritual Qi in the Skyscraping World continued to weaken. This lasted for three whole days before finally stabilising.

After three days, the mist in the surroundings had almost faded away completely. The cultivators in the Skyscraping World felt like the sun had shone through the mist. Their visibility opened up all of a sudden, allowing them to see five hundred kilometres away.

That had already surpassed the range that the senses of their souls could encapsulate.

Jian Chen did not pay too much attention to the Skyscraping World. He wandered aimlessly, searching for opportunities.

Along the way, he came across a few heavenly resources. None of them were particularly precious, coming nowhere close to the Spiritual Fruit of Sword Nurturing. They must have grown since the last opening of the Skyscraping World by absorbing the abundant spiritual Qi.

Jian Chen also came across several stone tablets that were engraved with imprints of the Way of the Sword left behind by the Skyscraping Sword Venerable. Whenever he found one, he would pause for a moment, carefully sensing the markings on there.

Although Jian Chen’s strength did not increase substantially, comprehending the stone tablets consolidated his foundations in the Way of the Sword.

In the blink of an eye, two months had already passed since the mess stirred up by the Spiritual Fruit of Sword Nurturing. The Heavenloss Master from the Sword Sect of Yang Soul and the group of experts continued to search for the person who took the Spiritual Fruit of Sword Nurturing, but who knew how far away Jian Chen was from them already.

On this day, Jian Chen’s expression suddenly changed as he advanced through the Skyscraping World. A huge stone tablet stood several hundred kilometres in front of him. The stone tablet was almost three hundred metres tall.

This was the first time Jian Chen had come across such a large stone tablet since he entered the Skyscraping World.

Jian Chen immediately accelerated, arriving before the stone tablet in a few flickers.

Seven figures sat beneath the stone tablet, comprehending the secrets that it hid.

When Jian Chen glanced past them, he was mildly surprised.

He discovered a few familiar figures. One of them was called Chi Yutian, the son of the city lord of the Yi Immortal City on the Hall Brilliance Heaven, the Scarlet Fire Immortal Exalt. Chi Tianyu was a Ninth Heavenly Layer Immortal Emperor.

Out of the six remaining people, Jian Chen had quite a deep impression of two of them.

That was because they came from the Immortal Feather sect. They were great elders of the Immortal Feather sect, both late Immortal Emperors.

As for the last four people, they were a mid Immortal Emperor and three Immortal Monarchs.

At this moment, the mid Immortal Emperor sensed Jian Chen’s arrival. He subconsciously opened his eyes. When he recognised Jian Chen, he was taken aback at first before standing up with a smile across his face. He clasped his fist. “So it’s fellow Yang Yutian. I must say that it is quite the destiny to encounter fellow Yang Yutian here in the expansive Skyscraping World.”

Seeing how Jian Chen’s attention was focused on the two great elders of the Immortal Feather sect and how he never even glanced at him, the Immortal Emperor could not help but feel rather awkward. However, he did not lose his temper, clasping his fist again. “I am Shi Yingqi. I come from the Sword Sect of Star Pointing on the Scholarly Attainment Heaven. Fellow Yang Yutian, the secret technique recorded in this stone tablet is one of the nine great secret techniques that the Skyscraping Sword Venerable left behind. It possesses unfathomably power. If you can grasp it successfully, your strength will definitely increase by multiple folds. Even defeating those stronger than you won’t be an issue. You’ll be unmatched among your peers.”
