Chaotic Sword God

Chapter 3982: Killed Without Mercy

The Master of Profound Secrets believed Jian Chen sincerely. He immediately took out a jade slip and passed it to Jian Chen after engraving some information on it. “I am quite close with the people on here. Without my recommendation, you will never be able to get any useful information out of them if you were to recklessly visit them. They will also vehemently deny any grievances towards the Sword Sect of Violet Heavens.”

“As a result, I’ve already made a secret mark on the jade slip. They will understand everything when they see the mark. They will place their complete trust in you. You can ask them about everything, fellow Yang Yutian.”

Jian Chen grabbed the jade slip and took a look. There were only five names on there. Under each name was a clear indication of the organisation they came from and the background they possessed. Moreover, all of these people were early Immortal Exalts.

None of these five people were on the Jade’s End Heaven. They were on five different heavens. One of them was the Grand Sovereign Heaven, which threw Jian Chen into a daze.

Not only was the Grand Sovereign Heaven Jian Chen’s first stop in the Immortals’ World, but it was also where he had found one of the three great elders of the Sword Sect of Violet Heavens, Immortal Emperor Taihang.

After stowing the jade slip away, Jian Chen clasped his fist towards the Master of Profound Secrets and thanked him. However, the Master of Profound Secrets who was already directing his full attention towards the situation in the cauldron had failed to notice that Jian Chen’s attitude was rather cold right now.

At this moment, something happened in the cauldron. Pulses of violent energy surged out endlessly, slamming against the cauldron and producing rumbles. The entire cauldron shook gently.

The medicinal power inside was changing. The balance achieved previously was about to be broken. If it were not dealt with, it would end in the cauldron exploding.

The Master of Profound Secrets handled this calmly. He arrived before the cauldron with a flash and directly pressed one hand against it. His turbulent energy surged into the cauldron as an endless flow. At the same time, he flicked his other hand at the nearby pile of heavenly resources. Heavenly resources wrapped in hazy light were cast into the cauldron in an orderly fashion.

Under the Master of Profound Secrets’ guidance, the violent power in the cauldron finally settled down. Everything turned back to normal.

However, the Master of Profound Secrets did not relax. Instead, he became even more stern. He constantly produced seals with his hand while his eyes remained glued to the cauldron, giving it his full attention.

Jian Chen stared straight at the cauldron as well. His mastery over the Way of Alchemy came nowhere close to the Master of Profound Secrets’, but he did have some achievement. He could clearly tell that the ancient pills in the cauldron seemed to have reached some kind of important step. The various powers inside were strengthening with each passing moment. The Master of Profound Secrets needed to maintain the balance and stability between these powers at all times.

“Master, how much longer do you need until you finish refining these pills?” Jian Chen suddenly asked.

The Master of Profound Secrets struck out with his hand again and again, hitting various locations of the cauldron according to some kind of special rhythm. Only after that did he say in thought, “That’s difficult to say. After all, the quality of these pills is extremely high, and they are extremely difficult to refine. Many of the incidents that occurred during the refinement process were not under my control. I could only deal with them as they occurred.”

“However, if I were to provide an estimate, it’ll take another thousand years at the earliest. If it takes longer than that, it might even take several tens of thousand years.”

“Another thousand years at the earliest? That’s a pity.” Jian Chen stared at the cauldron with a hint of regret. Afterwards, he turned around and walked into the distance, moving away from the cauldron.

Watching Jian Chen walk away, the Master of Profound Secrets thought Jian Chen did not want to refine the Divine Pills of Way Accumulation anymore. He could not help but panic. “Don’t panic, my friend. A thousand years is but a blink of an eye to the likes of us. I can promise you that once these pills are complete, I will immediately refine the Divine Pills of Way Accumulation for you.”

When he heard that, Jian Chen could not help but stop. He slowly turned around and looked at the Master of Profound Secrets. “Actually, I never wanted you to refine the Divine Pills of Way Accumulation.”

The Master of Profound Secrets was taken aback. He looked at Jian Chen with a hint of confusion, but before he could say anything, Jian Chen spoke up again, “Actually, I came to the Azure Light Mountain for a single goal—the Sword Sect of Violet Heavens!”

“Master of Profound Secrets, we originally had no grievances, but there are some things that I have no choice but to do. Apologies for the offence!”

After Jian Chen said that, the space over his head twisted. A peerless formation composed of several tens of thousand cultivators silently appeared, radiating with a chilling presence.

It was the Divine Formation of the Heavens!

The Master of Profound Secrets was a Fourth Heavenly Layer Immortal Exalt after all. As his place of alchemy, there were many formations in the surroundings as well. In order to eliminate any chance for the Master of Profound Secrets to make use of the formations, Jian Chen used the Divine Formation of the Heavens without any hesitation, aiming to kill him in a single strike.

This time also happened to be the first time that the Divine Formation of the Heavens was revealed to the world after assembling all fifty thousand Nine-heavenly Xuan Immortal disciples. Although it had yet to erupt with that devastating strike, the pressure it emanated far surpassed its previous state.

“Fellow Yang Yutian, w-w-what do you mean by this?” The Master of Profound Secrets stared at the peerless formation that appeared out of thin air in a daze. He was clueless.

Actually, from the moment the Divine Formation of the Heavens appeared, the Master of Profound Secrets had already realised that something was off. However, he struggled to believe that Jian Chen would actually come after him at such a critical time.

After all, it was currently a crucial moment in refining the ancient pills. The Illusionary Ancestor also happened to be in need of these pills. Since Yang Yutian was favoured by the Illusionary Ancestor and had benefitted from her grace, there was no reason for him to ruin her plans no matter what.

Before the Master of Profound Secrets could think any more about it, a devastating blast of light suddenly appeared, descending with gorgeous colour. It completely locked onto the space where the Master of Profound Secrets resided.

Boom!

With a deafening rumble, the Master of Profound Secrets’ body was completely reduced to nothing under the devastating blast from the Divine Formation of the Heavens. In his moments before death, his eyes were filled with disbelief.

It was as if even upon death, he did not understand why Jian Chen wanted to kill him.

The power of the Divine Formation of the Heavens was extremely startling. Not only did it completely claim the Master of Profound Secrets’ life with that strike, but it even pierced the high quality god artifact cauldron on the side. It destroyed the ancient pills that the Master of Profund Secrets had been refining.

It tore apart all the formations that the Master of Profound Secrets had set up in the surroundings as well. The terrifying shockwave turned into a devastating storm that swept through the surroundings. The entire mountain range seemed to be facing the end of the world. The rocks collapsed, the ground sank in, and even the sky turned to black.

“Oh no, the Master of Profound Secrets…”

“What exactly is going on? What a powerful energy storm. Retreat!”

......

…

In the surroundings of the Azure Light Mountain, four figures rushed into the air with tremendous presences. They were all startled and enraged.

They were the Ancient Virtue Immortal Exalt, the Rushing Lightning Immortal Exalt, the Blood Butcher Immortal Exalt, and the Jade Lotus Master.

But at this moment, they seemed quite lacklustre as they faced the shockwave from the Divine Formation of the Heavens as Fifth Heavenly Layer Immortal Exalts. They all retreated rapidly in their surprise and fury.

The energy storm was far too powerful. It was truly devastating. Even with their strength, they struggled to stop it. All they could do was launch powerful attacks while retreating, throwing everything they had at the incoming wave of energy to mitigate its might.

The blast from the Divine Formation of the Heavens directly plunged underground, landing deep into the foundations of the Azure Light Mountain. It made the entire Jade End’s Heaven shake.

At this moment, the entire Jade’s End Heaven experienced an earthquake. Countless cracks ran across the entire place like spider webs.

From outer space, it was even possible to see the entire Jade’s End Heaven shift in position.

All of the peak experts on the Jade’s End Heaven opened their eyes. They stared in the direction of the Azure Light Mountain in shock.

In the next moment, numerous figures appeared around the Azure Light Mountain like they had teleported over. There were over thirty of them. Their presences all varied in strength, but even the weakest was a First Heavenly Layer Immortal Exalt.

“Everyone, let’s block this storm together!” the Jade Lotus Master roared out hysterically. Her voice boomed across the Jade’s End Heaven.

She was an expert native to the Jade’s End Heaven. She possessed very great prestige. With her calling, all of the Immortal Exalts gathered there took action, working together to hold back the shockwave from the Divine Formation of the Heavens.

The Jade’s End Heaven was not the Skyscraping World. The Skyscraping World had many peak formations set up by Ninth Heavenly Layer Immortal Exalts. The Divine Formation of the Heavens obviously could not cause too much damage there.

However, the Jade’s End Heaven was different. Let alone attacks on par with late Immortal Exalts, even the battles between mid Immortal Exalts could bring devastation to a heaven.
