Chapter 3862: The Battle for the Spiritual Fruit

When the Profound Spirit Master said that, the expressions of a few of the Immortal Exalts present immediately changed. The Seven Antelope Ancestor’s face also became extremely ugly.

They were all leaders of sects, figures who stood at the apex of their respective heavens, possessing lofty statuses.

However, the Heavenly Palace of Scaling Heights that the Profound Spirit Master originated from was still an existence that they feared deeply.

That was because the Heavenly Palace of Scaling Heights was no regular peak organisation. Even among peak organisations, there were only a handful that could rival the Heavenly Palace of Scaling Heights. Very few people had the courage to provoke them.

Aside from that, just the Profound Spirit Master’s personal strength was enough to overwhelm most of them. At the very least, the Profound Spirit Master was one of the handful of mid Immortal Exalts that had entered the Skyscraping World!

“Everyone knows exactly how precious the Spiritual Fruit of Sword Nurturing is, let alone the fact that the Spiritual Fruit of Sword Nurturing here has already reached such a high grade. Such a precious treasure is not something that you can claim with just a word, Profound Spirit Master,” a voice rang out from afar. It was cold, even a little scornful.

The Profound Spirit Master’s face immediately darkened. He subconsciously followed the voice and glanced over. He saw a burly, middle-aged man make his way over at a steady pace. His hands were crossed behind him; his chest was bare, exposing his firm muscles, which seemed to contain explosive power.

The middle-aged man’s strength was not outstanding. He was only a Second Heavenly Layer Immortal Exalt.

However, when the Profound Spirit Master recognised him, the malice on his face immediately vanished, replaced by a gentle smile. He clasped his fist and said, “So it’s fellow Zuo Dao. Looks like fellow Zuo Dao is interested in the Spiritual Fruit of Sword Nurturing as well.”

“Who wouldn’t want something as unique as a Spiritual Fruit of Sword Nurturing?” Zuo Dao glanced at the Profound Spirit Master and snorted gently.

The Profound Spirit Master could obviously tell that Zuo Dao was quite rude to him. If any other Second Heavenly Layer Immortal Exalt tried to talk to him like that, perhaps the Profound Spirit Master would have issued a slight punishment.

However, Zuo Dao possessed the immense background of the Divine Valley of the Nine Heavens, which the Profound Spirit Master feared very much. As a result, the Profound Spirit Master was forced to ignore Zuo Dao’s coldness. Instead, he even smiled apologetically. “Fellow Zuo Dao is completely correct. Spiritual Fruits of Sword Nurturing have always been rare in the Immortals’ World, let alone one of such high grade.”

The Profound Spirit Master paused. He looked at the depths of the cave and said, “Except we have so many people here, while there’s only a single Spiritual Fruit of Sword Nurturing. In your opinion, how do you think we should split the Spiritual Fruit of Sword Nurturing, fellow Zuo Dao?”

Zuo Dao narrowed his eyes and turned towards the bottom of the cave. He sank into his thoughts.

At this moment, a group of Immortal Exalts gathered over. The situation sank into a delicate balance. They did not begin fighting.

“Everyone, an Immortal Emperor junior said that the Spiritual Fruit of Sword Nurturing is still in the process of reaching a higher grade right now. They claimed it cannot be picked before this process is complete, or it’ll ruin the heavenly resource. In my opinion, why don’t we check on the exact situation before discussing how to allocate the Spiritual Fruit of Sword Nurturing?” An Immortal Exalt suggested.

“That’s not a bad idea. We can sense the presence of the Spiritual Fruit of Sword Nurturing, but we need to see it for ourselves before we can come to a conclusion about its exact state.”

“Fair enough. Let’s be patient and check up on it first…”

Everyone agreed with the suggestion very quickly. With that, all of the Immortal Exalts gathered there made their way down to the bottom of the cave.

As the Immortal Exalts entered the cave, only a few Immortal Emperors were left outside.

“Let’s all disperse. With so many Immortal Exalts here, the Spiritual Fruit of Sword Nurturing won’t end up in our hands no matter what.”

“This is no longer something that we can participate in. Once the Immortal Exalts start fighting, we’ll only suffer from the backlash if we’re too close. C’mon, c’mon, let’s go. We’re not destined to obtain this heavenly resource.”

“Sigh, there’s none of our business here anymore. If we decide to be stubborn and bite off more than we can chew, we’ll only lose our lives…”

......

…

The Immortal Emperors gathered there all shook their heads and sighed before dispersing one by one.

At this moment, at the end of the cave, over a dozen Immortal Exalts gathered around the sword pool where the Spiritual Fruit of Sword Nurturing grew. Their eyes were glued to the Spiritual Fruit of Sword Nurturing that was breaking through, burning with interest.

“No wonder it caused such a great disturbance. So it’s not a regular Spiritual Fruit of Sword Nurturing. It is one that has undergone an evolution such that its nature has changed slightly.”

“Heavenly resources that have evolved are as rare as they come in the Immortals’ World. These heavenly resources are worth at least ten times or even dozens of times more than before they evolved.”

“The Immortal Emperor was right. It’s true that we can’t pick the Spiritual Fruit of Sword Nurturing right now, or it’ll be completely destroyed. We need to wait until this is all completed.”

The group of Immortal Exalts discussed among themselves around the sword pool. With their insight and knowledge, they could obviously tell what situation the Spiritual Fruit of Sword Nurturing was currently in.

“If the Spiritual Fruit of Sword Nurturing manages to survive today and continues growing, perhaps there will a day in the future where it has the slightest possibility of transforming into a cultivator, where it will be able to take a human form, absorb the energy of the world, and cultivate just like us. A pity, what a pity…” An Immortal Exalt sighed and shook his head. He already understood that the Spiritual Fruit of Sword Nurturing could not escape the fate of being harvested.

Once it was picked from its main body, all of the possibilities and hopes of the future would be lost.

“Everyone, if you can let our Heavenly Palace of Scaling Heights have this Spiritual Fruit of Sword Nurturing, then I can promise to all of you that everyone will receive a bountiful gift from our Heavenly Palace of Scaling Heights once we leave here. Of course, if we really can’t reach an agreement, we’ll just have to compete for it once the Spiritual Fruit of Sword Nurturing ripens,” the Profound Spirit Master suddenly said to the people in the surroundings.

“I discovered the Spiritual Fruit of Sword Nurturing first, and I was the first one to arrive here too,” the Seven Antelope Ancestor said reluctantly. His face was extremely ugly. He utterly resented the Immortal Emperor who obstructed him.

Even when he found out that the Spiritual Fruit of Sword Nurturing was not ripe, even when he knew that he could not pick it even if he was the first one here, he still hated Jian Chen to the bone.

At this moment, one of the Immortal Exalts present suddenly took action. With a flick of his finger, a bolt of lightning shot out, heading right towards the Spiritual Fruit of Sword Nurturing.

He was a First Heavenly Layer Immortal Exalt. He knew that with his strength, he would struggle to obtain the Spiritual Fruit of Sword Nurturing, so he wanted to destroy it.

“Stop!”

“How dare you!”

“You want to destroy the Spiritual Fruit of Sword Nurturing? You’re asking to die!”

The nearby Immortal Exalts bellowed. The Profound Spirit Master responded very quickly. With a swing of his hand, surging energy swept out. It moved even faster than the attack, directly shattering the First Heavenly Layer Immortal Exalt’s flick. At the same time, his left hand darted out and erupted with the might of a Fourth Heavenly Layer Immortal Exalt, flying towards that person mercilessly.

At the same time, a few of the Immortal Exalts nearby also took action, furiously attacking the Immortal Exalt who tried to destroy the Spiritual Fruit of Sword Nurturing.

“Hehehehe, you can forget about obtaining something that I can’t obtain.” The First Heavenly Layer Immortal Exalt sneered. He had been prepared from the moment he took action. He immediately vanished, avoiding everyone’s attacks before teleporting directly above the Spiritual Fruit of Sword Nurturing, slamming down with his hand.

“Galaxial Curtain!” At that critical moment, Zuo Dao from the Divine Valley of the Nine Heavens bellowed out. He formed a fist and terrifying energy gathered before he directly swung out.

The power of the fist filled the air. It was extremely startling. A galaxy seemed to be conjured, containing the profound powers of the stars.

Boom!

With a grunt, the First Heavenly Layer Immortal Exalt above the Spiritual Fruit of Sword Nurturing was directly sent flying by Zuo Dao. The powerful energy storm wreaked havoc in the cave.

Immediately, several Immortal Exalts took action, casting down an energy barrier around the sword pool to block the devastating storm of energy.

The Profound Spirit Master took action as well. He produced a huge net that radiated with the might of a high quality god artifact, immediately enveloping the entire sword pool. It glistened with light and formed a thick barrier.
