The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard

”They’re here!”

”These people are all in black robes, with no sign of any faction.”

”Who are they?”

While talking with a few guests, Oraya Lorne turned her head to look, her gaze falling on the face of the leading middle-aged man, and her expression instantly changed.

”Branthor Kirby!”

Nico Weaver stood beside Oraya Lorne, and in a low voice transmitted, ”Who is this person? Do you know him?”

Oraya Lorne’s face showed some annoyance as she transmitted, ”He was originally a disciple of the neighboring Thunder Cave Sect. He once pursued me, but I didn’t like him. He used sinister methods on me. After I saw through him, he was injured and escaped. I went to Thunder Cave Sect, but he never returned there. He defected and fled, and I hadn’t seen him since. I never thought he would dare to openly come to the Azure Divine Sect today.”

Nico Weaver raised his eyebrows; it turned out to be a love rival?

Nico Weaver felt a bit despondent inside. The power gap between them was too great; even if he wanted to stand up for his wife, he wasn’t capable.

Oraya Lorne noticed Nico Weaver’s mood and gently said, ”He’s probably come prepared this time, targeting the entire Azure Divine Sect, not just me personally. Perhaps they are the disaster Carson Flores mentioned.”

”You are my Pathist partner, he might target you. Don’t take to heart anything he says. The sect will handle it; just ensure your own safety.”

Nico Weaver sighed inwardly, ”You be careful as well.”

Oraya Lorne replied, ”This is the Azure Divine Sect, with so many guests here, there won’t be any problem.”

In the time of the short conversation, Branthor Kirby and his group had reached the banquet. His gaze swept across many tables, and he laughed heartily, ”So many guests, this is really lively.”

Branthor Kirby’s laughter was wanton, without any restraint, immediately drawing the attention of many guests.

”Branthor Kirby!”

Someone among the guests stood up, staring at Branthor Kirby with ill intent.

Branthor Kirby turned to glance at the white-haired elder who stood up, showing a false and exaggerated smile, ”Oh, isn’t this Uncle Tate? You’re here too.”

Everyone turned to look at the white-haired elder. Seeing the insignia on his clothes, they instantly knew his identity.

”Thunder Cave Sect!”

”That’s Rafferty Tate, the elder of Thunder Cave Sect. Is this person from Thunder Cave Sect too?”

Rafferty Tate coldly laughed, ”You have already been expelled from Thunder Cave Sect, I can’t afford such an address from you as Uncle!”

Rafferty Tate was aware of the grievances between Oraya Lorne and Branthor Kirby. Today’s main figure was Oraya Lorne, who was advancing to Great Land Prime Immortal. Rafferty Tate needed to clearly show Thunder Cave Sect’s stance to avoid misunderstandings by the Azure Divine Sect.

The smile on Branthor Kirby’s face vanished, his tone suddenly turning to ridicule and mockery, ”Since that’s the case, what are you yelling about here for? Have you been used to putting on airs for so long that you want to do it in front of me?”

Rafferty Tate’s eyes widened suddenly, his old face turning bright red.

Branthor Kirby was humiliating him in public!

Enraged, Rafferty Tate flew up towards Branthor Kirby, scolding, ”You caused great trouble back then, defected and left, and now you dare to return. I’m going to capture you and bring you back to the Sect for judgment!”

Branthor Kirby looked at Rafferty Tate with disdain, ”I’m right here, come and get me!”

Rafferty Tate was thoroughly angered by Branthor Kirby’s attitude, shouting, ”How daring, come down here!”

Rafferty Tate reached out to grab Branthor Kirby, using the Sky-covering Giant Hand, with a massive momentum, aiming straight down.

Rafferty Tate didn’t care about Branthor Kirby, but Branthor Kirby’s attitude made him lose face in front of all the guests. Besides, Oraya Lorne was watching, as an elder of Thunder Cave Sect, he had to show his stance.

With a cold smile, Branthor Kirby summoned a black fine needle. The fine needle, like a black ray, instantly pierced through Rafferty Tate’s Sky-covering Giant Hand, directly aiming at Rafferty Tate.

The black needle’s speed was extremely fast, with great power. Rafferty Tate’s released Sky-covering Giant Hand couldn’t stop the black needle. In the blink of an eye, the needle reached the escaping, unsuccessful Rafferty Tate.

The magic robe on Rafferty Tate glowed, but it couldn’t stop the black needle. The needle pierced through the glow, then into Rafferty Tate’s body.

Terror appeared in Rafferty Tate’s eyes. He wanted to retreat, but his body no longer obeyed, with his muscles becoming extremely rigid. He instantly resembled a petrified, sentient wooden statue.

The black needle turned in a circle and returned to Branthor Kirby. With a lift of his hand, he waved, and the nearby giant palm was instantly broken, as if dispersing smoke with a wave of the hand.

”Branthor Kirby, what did you do to me?”

Branthor Kirby calmly said, ”Just making you quiet for a while, don’t worry, you won’t die.”

Rafferty Tate felt immense shock. From recognizing Branthor Kirby and seeing the aura he displayed, along with the group behind him, he knew this guy likely came with ill intentions.

Considering past events, he decided to strike first while Oraya Lorne hadn’t spoken yet, to show Thunder Cave Sect’s stance.

Whether he could take down Branthor Kirby or not, he had already shown Thunder Cave Sect’s stance, so this matter shouldn’t involve him anymore, right?
