The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard

Chapter 2449: Chapter 2449: Contradictory Accounts, Strange!

Thyris Lucerne achieved Quasi-Saint status through his father’s inheritance, so naturally, his father’s strength wouldn’t be far behind.

Either a Quasi-Saint or a Superior Grade Great Land Prime Immortal.

If he breakthrough, then wouldn’t that be the Saint Realm?

Thyris Lucerne nodded, his gaze tinged with an undeniable sadness and remembrance: ”Yes.”

Delarosa asked, ”What do you know about my master’s assassination?”

Thyris Lucerne replied, ”When Cobb was ambushed, my father wasn’t aware. Afterward, my father conducted investigations to see if he escaped, but everyone involved in the assassination claimed your father was slain on the spot, with both body and soul extinguished.”

Delarosa fell silent; she too had investigated before, and the conclusions matched what Thyris Lucerne said.

Is Delarosa’s master truly dead?

Carson Flores now understood that Delarosa’s master was like a father to her, and he felt deep sympathy for Delarosa at this moment.

She must have hoped countless times that her master didn’t perish, which is why she worked so tirelessly to find evidence, attempting to prove he was either still alive or had indeed met his end.

As Carson Flores and Delarosa sank into silence, Thyris Lucerne spoke again: ”Even though everyone says Cobb was killed, body and soul destroyed, during my father’s investigation, two people had differing accounts...”

Carson Flores’ eyes suddenly lit up, different accounts?

Doesn’t that suggest a possible twist in this case?

Before Carson Flores could inquire, Delarosa’s anxious voice rang out: ”What were the different accounts?”

Thyris Lucerne answered, ”When my father asked them how Cobb died, the accounts differed. One said he was struck by multiple magical treasures, his body shattered and killed instantly, while another said he suffered grave injuries and fell into the Space Domain, torn to pieces to death.”

Carson Flores exclaimed in surprise, ”They both participated in the ambush?”

Thyris Lucerne nodded, ”Yes, my father found it odd at the time. Upon hearing the second account, he turned to ask the first person again, who then changed his story, saying he was injured at the time, wasn’t at the scene, and only heard it from others. When asked who he heard it from, he said he couldn’t remember...”

Carson Flores widened his eyes, ”If both were present, one of them must be lying, but why lie?”

Thyris Lucerne calmly said, ”My father suspected Cobb might still be alive, but after investigating for a long time, he found nothing, so the matter ended unresolved.”

Carson Flores couldn’t help but ask, ”Wasn’t your father a good friend of Delarosa’s master? He was chased to death, your father knows who the murderer is, why didn’t he help with revenge?”

Thyris Lucerne glanced at Carson Flores and replied in a calm tone, ”Couldn’t defeat them, couldn’t afford to provoke them.”

Carson Flores felt a chill, not because of Erython Lucerne’s inaction, but because of the power of the assassins.

Thyris Lucerne didn’t evade the question, responded directly, simply stating couldn’t defeat nor provoke them, which shows that Erython Lucerne did consider avenging his friend, but couldn’t. What else could he do?

If he succeeded in breakthrough, he might have achieved something, but since he failed, what’s there to say about it?

Breakthrough?

Carson Flores suddenly had a thought, ”Was Erython’s breakthrough related to this matter?”

Thyris Lucerne pursed his lips: ”Originally, he didn’t need to rush, but he couldn’t wait any longer.”

I see!

Erython Lucerne and Delarosa’s master were close friends; Delarosa’s master was killed by adversaries of immense power. Erython Lucerne wished to avenge his friend but lacked strength, so he gambled without being fully prepared, resulting in failure.

As Erython Lucerne’s daughter, she logically understood this matter, but emotionally, there’s definitely resentment towards Cobb, which is why when she reunited with the Ethereal Pagoda and Delarosa, she didn’t show any joy of meeting an old friend but was rather confrontational and critical.

She knows it’s not Delarosa’s fault, but for her to show affection towards Delarosa, that’s clearly not possible.

Delarosa remained silent for a few seconds, softly saying, ”I’m really sorry...”

Thyris Lucerne replied in a calm tone, ”That was my father’s own choice, it has nothing to do with you.”

Carson Flores thought: ”Do you know who those two with different accounts are, can you tell me their names?”

Thyris Lucerne nodded and revealed two names.

Delarosa calmly said, ”Thank you, I will continue to investigate this matter.”

Thyris Lucerne didn’t stop her, as she’s well aware of Delarosa’s sentiment towards her master.

”Alright, everything’s been said, I’ve fulfilled what I promised you, now it remains for you to decide who you want to leave with?”

Carson Flores replied, ”Floating Cloud, Flowing Cloud, Profound River... Draelor Loxley.”

Carson Flores paused a moment, finally adding Draelor Loxley’s name: ”Draelor Loxley was poisoned by his master, Ghost True Sage, controlled by poison...”

Thyris Lucerne acknowledged, and the next second, her voice echoed across the Nine Heavens, resonating throughout the world.

”Phoenix Fire Spirit is now in my possession, everyone cease the search and fighting, return to camp immediately!”
