The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard

Chapter 2448: Chapter 2448: The Daughter of an Old Acquaintance?

Carson Flores put away the porcelain bottle and exhaled.

Now, it was just about bluffing the Quasi-Saint; I don’t know if it can be done!

Carson drifted upwards swiftly, soon emerging from the earth.

Vibrations came clearly from afar, indicating that the terrifying battle was still ongoing.

Carson didn’t head toward the battleground, but instead turned toward the camp.

Floating Cloud and Flowing Cloud teamed up, certainly they wouldn’t lose, so now the most important thing for me is to hand over the Phoenix Fire Spirit to the red-clad woman, ending this test.

Just as Carson was about to leave, a red shadow flashed in the sky, and the silhouette of the red-clad woman appeared in front of Carson.

Carson was slightly surprised; indeed, she was observing in secret.

The series of maneuvers I performed underground, presumably she wasn’t aware of.

Carson saluted, ”Senior.”

The red-clad woman stared at Carson, ”Captured the Phoenix Fire Spirit?”

Carson took out the porcelain bottle containing the split spirit of the Phoenix Fire Spirit and handed it to the red-clad woman, ”Mission accomplished, fortunately.”

The red-clad woman’s eyes revealed a hint of mild surprise; she hadn’t expected Carson actually succeeded.

She had naturally seen the battle between Floating Cloud, Flowing Cloud, Ghost True Sage, and Matthews Hui, as well as Phineas Tate and Prylor Jandric’s cooperation; but Carson grabbed the Phoenix Fire Spirit without anyone noticing.

At this moment, Phineas Tate and others still believed the Phoenix Fire Spirit escaped deeper into the Earth’s Core, completely unaware it was already in Carson’s hands.

”How did you capture it?”

Carson calmly replied, ”A little trick, nothing worth mentioning.”

The red-clad woman looked at Carson as though to see through his soul, while Carson met her gaze calmly, without the slightest evasion.

The red-clad woman glanced for several seconds before lowering her sights; the cork of the porcelain bottle flew up, the Phoenix Fire Spirit charged out eagerly, yet it seemed surrounded by invisible walls, blocked from escaping, colliding everywhere without success.

The red-clad woman nodded with satisfaction, once again maneuvering the bottle’s formation to contain the Phoenix Fire Spirit.

”Not bad, you did it.”

Carson breathed a sigh of relief, thankfully, she didn’t seem to notice the Phoenix Fire Spirit had been tampered with.

”Then, do I count as having passed Senior’s test?”

There was a subtle expression in the red-clad woman’s eyes, ”Though Floating Cloud and others helped you stall Ghost True Sage and them, you alone captured the Phoenix Fire Spirit underground, so... you pass!”

Carson felt relieved, ”Then, might Senior return the Ethereal Pagoda to me?”

The red-clad woman raised her hand, the Ethereal Pagoda appeared above her palm and then floated toward Carson.

Carson summoned the pagoda, placing it in the palm of his hand.

”Delarosa?”

In Carson’s mind came Delarosa’s voice, ”I’m here, I’m fine.”

Carson’s heart finally calmed, he looked up at the red-clad woman, ”Senior, you once promised that if I succeeded, you would reveal your identity and share the information you know...”

The red-clad woman gazed at Carson, ”Are you asking for Delarosa?”

Carson nodded, ”I know that currently I am very weak and can’t help Delarosa, but as long as I am alive, I will continue to grow. Someday, I will be capable of assisting her.”

The red-clad woman said coldly, ”Even if your opponent is a Quasi-Saint, or even a Saint?”

Saint?

Carson’s heart trembled, but his answer was clean, decisive, ”I am in my twenties, yet still a mortal, over these few decades I have become a Great Land Fairy, what about a hundred years, a thousand years from now? Quasi-Saint, Saint, none are born into their rank.”

The red-clad woman snorted coldly, ”You certainly are ambitious.”

Carson laughed casually, ”The Immortal Path is, after all, defying the heavens. On this path, unless attaining the eternal, no matter how much longevity, one ultimately faces death. If one does not fear death, then what is there to be afraid of?”

The red-clad woman chuckled lightly, ”You do not fear death?”

Carson calmly replied, ”When I was a mortal, I was a soldier, braving life and death, executing many dangerous missions, to protect my country, protect my family, I was always facing death. For soldiers, death isn’t terrifying; what is terrifying is living in cowardice and disgrace.”

”If I feared death, I wouldn’t have become a soldier back then.”

The red-clad woman displayed a surprised expression on her face, seemingly astonished by Carson’s notion, ”Indeed admirable; no wonder Delarosa chose you... Well, since you have succeeded, I will keep my word.”

”My name is Thyris Lucerne, my father is Erython Lucerne...”

Delarosa’s voice rang in surprise, ”You’re Erython Lucerne’s daughter?”

Thyris Lucerne nodded, ”Now you understand why I know so much about you, do you not?”

”Erython Lucerne was a close friend with the master; he knew my name... Is your father well?”

Thyris Lucerne shook her head, ”My father failed to Breakthrough, at the brink of death, he used a special technique to transfer his cultivation technique and insights to me, which shaped who I am now.”

Carson asked in surprise, ”Breakthrough... Saint Realm?”
