The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard

Chapter 1844: Chapter 1844: Throwing the Match on Purpose?

This time, without waiting for the Ancestor Dragon’s instructions, the maiden standing beside Carson Flores had already filled his cup.

At the same time, Oliver Stone, who had been sitting with his eyes closed and silent, opened his eyes, glanced at Carson across from him, and then looked towards the maiden beside him.

”Pour wine!”

Carson turned his head to look around and smiled slightly: ”The wine is good, just a bit intoxicating, it has already knocked out quite a few.”

Oliver Stone calmly spoke: ”Envoy Lin, drinking alone is ultimately a bit dull, let me join you.”

Carson laughed: ”I’ve heard of the Black Dragon Prince’s fame before, and now that I see you, indeed your charisma is extraordinary. Come, let’s have a drink and become friends!”

Originally, Oliver Stone did not regard Carson highly, after all, Carson was just at the True Immortal Realm, and his presence here was because he represented the Celestial Palace, not because of his own status.

Three cups of wine, Carson fell each time with impressive swiftness, yet he awakened just as swiftly. Now, while all the boasting Dragon Clan elites lay drunk, Carson remained spirited and showed no signs of intoxication.

Oliver Stone had personally experienced the power of the Immortal Wine, and a strong interest in Carson began to stir within him.

This guy is not simple!

No wonder, with not much strength to speak of, he could become the Immortal Palace Envoy, representing the Celestial Palace around the world.

”Very well, Oliver makes friends with you, please!”

Carson and Oliver Stone raised their cups together and drank the fourth cup simultaneously.

As expected, Carson fell again, while on the other side, Oliver Stone sat like a meditating old monk, his face red, eyes closed, and silent.

After half an hour, Carson woke up again, his complexion rosier than before, and his eyes carried a haze.

This scene gave hope to all the Dragon Clan who saw it.

With each glass he drinks, his intoxication deepens. Evidently, he cannot fully shake off the effects, meaning his drinking capacity is limited and he can’t go on drinking indefinitely!

Oliver Stone simultaneously opened his eyes, looking across at Carson with high spirits.

He clearly felt the wine’s influence, wanting to absorb and process more time, yet since the opponent had already awakened, if he remained silent, wouldn’t that mean he lost?

The two exchanged a look, and with great tacit understanding, lifted their wine glasses simultaneously.

The fifth cup!

Fall, wake up.

Under the astonished and anticipating gaze of everyone, the two of them persisted silently.

Each time Carson awoke, Oliver Stone would open his eyes from meditation, and then they would continue drinking the first cup, entering a new cycle once again.

The Ancestor Dragon didn’t speak to stop it, just watched with a smiling gaze.

The sixth cup!

The seventh cup!

The eighth cup!

The ninth cup!

With each cup, Carson’s complexion became a bit redder, and the intoxication in his eyes intensified.

Oliver Stone’s condition was no better than Carson’s, his whole face was as red as if it would bleed, and the disorder in his eyes was apparent to all. Everyone vaguely understood, Oliver Stone was completely holding on with sheer willpower!

If not for Carson, he would have been knocked out already.

Is he going to lose?

So many of the Dragon Clan, yet they can’t even handle a True Immortal, how disgraceful.

Carson woke up again, shook his head, and rubbed his face.

Across from him, Oliver Stone opened his eyes, but his whole body’s drunkenness was glaringly obvious, and his body wobbled slightly.

The maiden beside him wanted to step forward and pour wine for Carson. Unexpectedly, Carson reached out and covered the cup’s opening, then looked up at the Ancestor Dragon above the hall and smiled: ”Senior, thank you for the wine today, letting me thoroughly indulge my cravings. Now that my interest is sated, if I continue drinking, I fear I might actually get drunk.”

After a pause, Carson turned to look at Oliver Stone, whose expression was slightly bewildered and smiled: ”Brother Aol, I’m afraid I can’t drink with you anymore as my capacity has reached its limit. How about another day, at another place, we have a good drink together?”

Oliver Stone looked at Carson, who, though slightly intoxicated, still had clear eyes, and his gaze became a bit complicated.

How could he not know, Carson was deliberately letting him save face!

Not enough drinking capacity?

Even if he actually didn’t have enough capacity, drinking a few more glasses and letting himself get completely drunk shouldn’t be an issue, right?

He was saving face for himself and for the Dragon Clan.

Oliver Stone hesitated for a moment, cupped his hands in acknowledgment: ”Thank you, Brother Lin. I actually couldn’t drink anymore a while ago, was just holding on, truly one or two more glasses and I would have fallen right over.”

Oliver Stone chose honesty, after all, anyone with eyes could see, hiding anything would be pointless and not his style.

His words also straightforwardly acknowledged, he understood Carson was giving face, and he appreciated it.

Carson smiled: ”I just sober up quickly, it’s not really a skill.”

The Ancestor Dragon on the high platform laughed heartily: ”Indeed, youth is impressive. No one has ever drunk so much of my wine and remained sober, Envoy Lin, your method of sobering is truly miraculous.”

Carson smiled: ”Primarily, the Immortal Wine is pure. As long as the medicinal effects of the Immortal Wine are all absorbed and transformed, one naturally sobers up...”
