The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard

Chapter 1530: Chapter 1530: The Celestial Palace Can’t Handle the Situation Anymore?

”Carson, congratulations on your breakthrough!”

”Thanks!”

Alfred Weaver said, smiling: ”This is such a joyous occasion, we should celebrate properly with some food and drink...”

Carson couldn’t help but laugh: ”So, you’re saying I should cook?”

Alfred Weaver nodded: ”That’s right, the ingredients in the Mortal Realm are much worse than those in the Immortal Realm, but they have many completely different cooking styles and dishes. When you cook them, the taste is not inferior to what the top chefs in the Immortal Realm make... Surely, you wouldn’t refuse to cook for me?”

Carson laughed: ”How could I? As long as you want to eat, and you find it delicious, making a meal is no big deal.”

Alfred Weaver immediately made the decision, chuckling: ”Then it’s settled.”

Carson looked at Alfred Weaver’s smiling face and teased: ”I’m curious, aren’t you the acting Domain Master for your father now? Are you always like this?”

Alfred Weaver snorted: ”Of course not, I’m quite imposing, alright? But that’s when handling official business. This is private, we’re friends, so there’s no need to put up a front. Looking stern all the time might not be tiring, but it’s very boring.”

Carson joked: ”Okay, I’ll make a delicious meal for the acting Domain Master, hoping he’ll grace it with his presence.”

Alfred Weaver was amused by Carson and replied playfully: ”Granted, if it’s tasty, there’ll be a reward. If not, you’ll be punished!”

Everyone found a place where the wildflowers bloomed, and Carson set up his cooking utensils to start cooking.

Alfred Weaver didn’t just watch; he helped Carson, sorting, washing, and cutting the ingredients. When there was nothing to do, he stood by and chatted with Carson, starting with the dishes and extending to interesting aspects of life in the Mortal Realm.

They seemed like a couple, cooking together, their movements unhurried, filled with laughter and chat.

This scene fell into the eyes of Vance Holt and Cecilia Browning, and they couldn’t help but feel that the two matched harmoniously together.

”I’ve advanced, so for now, there’s nothing much to do. Is there anywhere you’d like to go? I’ll accompany you.”

Alfred Weaver smiled: ”Anywhere I go, you’ll accompany me?”

Carson nodded: ”Sure.”

”I want to visit the Southern Sea.”

Carson asked curiously: ”What will you do in the Southern Sea?”

Carson couldn’t believe that someone of Alfred Weaver’s status would go to the Southern Sea just for sightseeing.

”Have you heard of the Crystal Palace?”

Carson was slightly surprised: ”Ellen Stone, Dragon Palace?”

”Yes!”

Alfred Weaver’s expression became slightly solemn: ”Lately, there’s been an undercurrent in the Thunder Immortal Realm. I plan to visit Ellen to see if he is willing to stand with the Celestial Palace...”

Carson frowned: ”The Celestial Palace can’t suppress the situation anymore?”

Alfred Weaver sighed: ”On the surface, there’s no problem, but behind the scenes, there’s already plenty of conflict. My father is the Domain Master, but he has little desire for power, focusing on cultivation and rarely managing matters within the domain. Because of this, various major forces secretly compete, vying for power and influence.”

”My father went to other Immortal Domains five hundred years ago and has not returned. Everyone speculates that he might have encountered an accident or may not return. In addition, with no successor, many people covet the position of Domain Master.”

”Although I have returned, my strength is not strong enough. The Celestial Palace has a bunch of my father’s old subordinates, but ultimately, they don’t have the same prestige as he does. Now, everyone shows superficial obedience to the Celestial Palace, but in reality, they have their own thoughts.”

”This time, aside from finding you, I’m hoping to visit several major forces to seek their support. Although I don’t care about power myself, my father is not here now, so I can’t just do nothing, especially with so many loyal followers of my father.”

”If neglected, the first ones to suffer when turmoil arises will be me and my father’s die-hard loyalists. Whether for my father, for myself, or for those loyal subordinates of my father, I must work hard to stabilize the situation.”

”As long as the forces loyal to the Celestial Palace are strong enough in numbers and strength, the situation can be stabilized; otherwise, it’s like a small boat, which can be overturned by a slight big wave.”

Carson found it unexpected that the Celestial Palace was already on the verge of collapse, and couldn’t help but worry for her: ”Given the situation is so severe, you must know which forces are pulling strings and preparing to rebel, right?”

Alfred Weaver smiled wryly: ”Everyone with ability has thought about it, but they haven’t acted yet. What I need to do now is gather momentum. As long as I build enough momentum, people with those thoughts won’t dare to act, and the situation can be stabilized.”

”Moreover, we have discovered that Maggie Fitzgerald has joined a very powerful organization. She should be one of the top officials in that organization. I guess their goal is to overthrow the Celestial Palace and control the entire Thunder Immortal Realm.”

Carson asked: ”I’ve never really asked you, what’s Maggie’s situation? Wasn’t she from the Northern Mystic Sect? When something happened, the Northern Mystic Sect didn’t react?”

Alfred Weaver smiled bitterly: ”After ten thousand years, Maggie is no longer what she used to be, not only powerful but holding significant sway over many people in the Northern Mystic Sect. When I returned, she promptly led a large group to break away from the Northern Mystic Sect. The Celestial Palace questioned the Northern Mystic Sect, and they pleaded guilty, claiming they were also deceived by Maggie and were victims themselves...”
