The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard

Chapter 1077: Chapter 1077: Catching such a big fish is worth it!

Kenji Rollins was wracked with excruciating pain that a naked eye could see, as the flesh of his right arm and palm melted away like ice, revealing the stark white bones beneath.

Even more horrifying was the spread of this dissolution, creeping up his arm!

He could even feel his bones being intensely corroded and rotting away!

Watching his hand turn into a bloody skeletal claw in the blink of an eye, Kenji Rollins’s eyes filled with ferocity. He lifted his left hand, transforming it into a blade, and chopped down on his own right upper arm.

Blood splattered everywhere as Kenji Rollins’s right arm was severed, falling to the ground, while he himself quickly retreated, his face deathly pale as he looked at Carson Flores with deep wariness in his eyes.

”What the hell is this thing!”

Carson Flores said regretfully, ”You are quite decisive, to amputate your own arm so quickly...”

Kenji Rollins stemmed the flow of blood spurting from the stump, retreating swiftly and putting distance between himself and Carson Flores.

”Is this the same move you used to kill the skeleton and the members of the Arhat Bandit Group?”

Carson Flores smiled, ”It’s not worth mentioning, just a little trick not fit to be seen in public. It’s embarrassing for you to see, City Lord Kenji!”

A little trick?

Embarrassing?

Kenji Rollins felt like cursing, and he regretted not asking Carson Flores how he had managed to kill so many people.

Why had he assumed that Carson Flores killed so many because he possessed the Emperor Seal?

This sudden turn of events greatly startled Douglas Meyers on the other side.

What happened?

Kenji Rollins had just amputated his own right arm?

Wouldn’t that greatly affect his strength?

How could they fight now?

Carson Flores, holding the Water-Fire Mirror, once again unleashed a massive throng of flames towards Kenji Rollins.

This time, Kenji Rollins retreated far and fast.

Carson Flores, seizing the chance, reined in his Spiritual Energy and quickly ran outside, while Jorge Gross ran in another direction.

Seeing this, Kenji Rollins knew there was no way to trap the three of them today.

Where would he dare approach?

Who knew if the fire concealed that bizarre Blood Mist?

Kenji Rollins whipped out his Nine Sections Whip, attacking Carson Flores again.

This time, Carson Flores took the hit, but his expression wasn’t one of discomfort.

Kenji Rollins, affected by the loss of an arm, had greatly reduced combat power!

Seeing this, Kenji Rollins knew the tide had turned. Filled with resentment, he leapt up and shouted, ”Let’s go!”

Douglas Meyers’s heart had been uneasy for a while. He’d originally planned to trap the three with a Formation, with Kenji Rollins slipping in for a surprise attack. If they could seriously injure Kellan Gentry, wouldn’t it be easy to kill Carson Flores?

But the outcome was unexpected. Not only could they run, but neither he nor Kenji could deal a death blow!

Kenji Rollins’s Great Perfection of Hollow Void strength couldn’t kill Carson Flores!

Seeing the three about to escape the Formation’s range, Douglas Meyers didn’t dare linger. He shot into the sky, quickly following Kenji, and disappeared into the horizon in the blink of an eye.

After they left the Formation area, Kellan Gentry cursed, ”Damn Kenji Rollins, hiding so deep. If you hadn’t seen through him just now, waiting for Douglas Meyers to attack us while he suddenly ambushed from our side, none of us could have withstood that.”

Jorge Gross looked at Carson Flores, his eyes bright, ”I was busy dealing with Douglas Meyers and I didn’t notice, that was close. Carson, it’s lucky you did.”

Inside, Carson Flores was feeling a flicker of fear as well. What would be the outcome if a powerhouse with the strength of Great Perfection of Hollow Void launched a full-force surprise attack from behind, with no defenses?

Death!

A certain instant kill!

”It’s unexpected that Kenji Rollins, as the lord of a city, turned out to be a disciple of the Ten Thousand Ghosts Sect. We were all deceived, even letting Douglas Meyers, so close to capture, get rescued by him...”

Kellan Gentry’s smile was wry, ”Didn’t you disable one of his hands though? His strength has plummeted, and we’ve uncovered a major hidden threat. It’s still not a bad outcome.”

Jorge Gross nodded in agreement, ”It would have been better to kill him, but exposing his identity isn’t bad either. At least Kenji Rollins most likely can’t return to his post as the City Lord of Heavenly Origin City. From now on, he’ll probably have to live cautiously and disguised.”

Carson Flores frowned, ”Kenji Rollins is from the Ten Thousand Ghosts Sect, yet still plays the City Lord. Then why didn’t he directly recruit Larry Stein to the sect? Why let Douglas Meyers make a move?”

”Hiding his identity, adding an extra layer of insurance.”

Jorge Gross said with a smile, ”If Douglas Meyers recruited Larry Stein, regardless of Larry’s reaction, Kenji could remain hidden in the shadows to keep the situation under control. Think about it, if Larry was dissatisfied with Douglas Meyers, and wanted to report him, to whom would he report?”

Upon hearing this, Carson Flores suddenly realized.

Right, if Larry Stein was dissatisfied with Douglas Meyers, with any suspicions or planning any significant move, he would surely inform City Lord Kenji first.

Wouldn’t that be walking right into a trap?

If Douglas Meyers were exposed, then Kenji Rollins could still step out, bright and aboveboard, as the City Lord, using Douglas to counter-attack, just like they attempted against Carson and his companions.

As long as they killed the witnesses cleanly, in the end, Douglas Meyers would still be the Artifact Refining Master, and Kenji Rollins would continue to be the City Lord — as if nothing had ever happened.

What a cunning scheme!
