Chapter 219: Chapter 219 The Great Battle is Imminent Chapter 219: Chapter 219 The Great Battle is Imminent Feng Wuchen’s astonishing talent for cultivation had the Shuiyue Empire extremely worried.

If they continued to drag their feet, once Feng Wuchen broke through to the Tianyuan Realm, no one would be able to do anything about him.

“Father, please reconsider!” Lei Jue finally spoke up.

“There’s no need for further discussion. Feng Wuchen poses too great a threat to our Empire, he must be eliminated!” Lei Zhenfeng said sternly, his mind was made up, and he would not change his decision.

“Father! Feng Wuchen has never intended to threaten our Empire. You are all worrying over nothing. Think about it, with such a terrifying talent for cultivation, what if you can’t kill him? You’d only incite an even more terrifying retaliation from Feng Wuchen!” Lei Jue said resolutely.

After a pause, Lei Jue added, “The death of the State Preceptor has indeed angered Feng Wuchen, but it’s not beyond negotiation. Once war breaks out, there will be no turning back.”

“Prince, you are bolstering the enemy’s morale and undermining our own authority! How could our Shuiyue Empire be afraid of Feng Wuchen?” the Great General spoke up with dissatisfaction.

Lei Jue responded gravely, “Does the Great General want to see countless citizens of the Shuiyue Empire living in turmoil? Do you wish to see the homes of our Empire’s common folk destroyed and their people perishing?”

“The grudge against the State Preceptor must be avenged!” the Great General shouted angrily.

“Hmph! If you disregard the lives of the people, how can you call yourself an Emperor? Father, as the ruler of a nation, should prioritize the people above all! Not let personal desires lead the way!” Lei Jue snorted coldly.

Hearing this, Lei Zhenfeng’s brows furrowed slightly as he said angrily, “Issue the order immediately! All forces within the Empire stand by, ready to fight for the Empire!”

“Father!” Lei Jue attempted to intercede.

“Enough!” Lei Zhenfeng bellowed, his gaze shifted to Lei Jue, “Son, you are still young, you do not understand the dangers involved. In time, you will realize that the safety of the people rests on having absolute power; without power, the people truly live in peril.”

“Prince, you should realize that the Empire’s lands were won by strength,” Lü Liang added.

Lei Jue fell silent, knowing that no matter what he said, it wouldn’t change the views and decision of these men.

“My son, go back and rest,” a beautiful woman slowly spoke up. Even as the consort of a nation, she did not intervene in state affairs.

Lei Jue shook his head helplessly, turned, and walked out of the great hall, “I may not understand profound principles, but I know that a true man does what he should and refrains from what he should not. This is the very lesson you taught me from a young age, Father.”

“…” The great hall became silent upon hearing Lei Jue’s words.

…

“By Imperial decree! War against the Yanhuo Empire will commence in three days! All forces within the Empire stand by at any time! Assist the Empire in annihilating the Yanhuo Empire.”

One by one, messages quickly spread from the royal family to every region of the Shuiyue Empire.

“The State Preceptor was seeking his own death, and now wants to drag us down with him? Offending someone as fearsome as Feng Wuchen will have no good ending.”

“Feng Wuchen’s threat to our Empire is too great; once the Empire falls, we will all have to submit to Feng Wuchen.”

“This matter does not concern us. When two countries go to war, our sect will definitely not interfere!”

Forces of all sizes within the Shuiyue Empire all harbored different mindsets.

The master of the Fenglei Sect outright refused without an ounce of politeness—they had already sworn fealty to Feng Wuchen, how could they dare betray him?

Not only had they not betrayed him, they immediately sent someone to Unmatched City to report the situation.

…

The great hall of the Tianwu Empire.

The Great General of the Shuiyue Empire personally came and reported the situation, hoping that the Tianwu Great Emperor would send troops to join in the attack on the Yanhuo Empire and eliminate Feng Wuchen.

However, the Tianwu Great Emperor also refused.

“Tianwu Great Emperor, Feng Wuchen’s power is becoming more and more fearsome. If we don’t act now, once he breaks through to the Tianyuan Realm, none of us will be able to deal with him!” The Great General of the Shuiyue Empire spoke anxiously, completely unexpected that the Tianwu Great Emperor would refuse.

All three Empires exerted pressure, and Feng Wuchen had offended all three Great Emperors. Logically, the Tianwu Great Emperor had no reason to refuse.

The Tianwu Great Emperor shook his head and said gravely, “This Emperor has recently suffered a backlash during cultivation, which greatly weakened my power, and I must recover as quickly as possible. Moreover, serious issues have arisen with the Hundred Battles Armor-piercing Crossbows, preventing me from sending troops to assist.”

“This…” Realizing the Tianwu Great Emperor did not wish to get involved, the Great General of the Shuiyue Empire felt helpless.

The Shuiyue Empire was unaware that Feng Wuchen had single-handedly overwhelmed the royal family of the Tianwu Empire.

The Tianwu Great Emperor now harbored extreme wariness towards Feng Wuchen, not daring to become his enemy.

The scene in which Feng Wuchen dominated the imperial family of the Tianwu Empire was still fresh in the memory of everyone within the royal family; none could forget how terrifying Feng Wuchen was that day.

“The Shuiyue Empire has a strong military force, more than capable of dealing with the Yanhuo Empire. Great General, you may return now,” said the Tianwu Great Emperor.

“…” The Great General of the Shuiyue Empire felt a silent disappointment.

…

Meanwhile, in the great hall of the Luoyun Empire.

The envoy of the Shuiyue Empire, Royal Duke Wang, arrived at the Luoyun Empire.

“Envoy of the Shuiyue Empire, Royal Duke Wang, pays his respects to the Luoyun Emperor!” Royal Duke Wang gave a respectful salute.

“So it’s Royal Duke Wang,” the Luoyun Emperor nodded and smiled, but his smile was quite unnatural.

The faces of the State Preceptor and the officials in the great hall also looked very peculiar, as if something had happened.

No sooner had Royal Duke Wang entered than he sensed something was amiss, but he was also clueless as to what it might be.

The Luoyun Emperor gestured for Royal Duke Wang to sit down, then asked with a smile, “May I inquire what brings Royal Duke Wang to our empire?”

Upon hearing this, Royal Duke Wang couldn’t care less about the strangeness of the people in the hall and said, “Feng Wuchen has killed our empire’s State Preceptor, and the Emperor is furious. In three days, he will lead the troops to annihilate the Yanhuo Empire. Therefore, I am specially dispatched to request the Luoyun Emperor to dispatch troops and join us in eradicating the Yanhuo Empire and Feng Wuchen.”

“Oh? Feng Wuchen killed State Preceptor Qin Fei? When did this happen?” the Luoyun Emperor asked in surprise, although the astonishment seemed feigned.

“It happened just a few days ago,” Royal Duke Wang said. “Feng Wuchen is now at the Ninth Level of the Yuandan Realm. His strength is terrifying. If we do not eliminate him now, once he breaks through to the Tianyuan Realm, there will be no one who can deal with him then. He poses a great threat to all three of our empires.”

After a pause, Royal Duke Wang added, “The Great General has personally gone to the Tianwu Empire, and I believe the Tianwu Empire will also agree to send troops to attack the Yanhuo Empire.”

The Luoyun Empire’s State Preceptor said, “Feng Wuchen’s strength is indeed fearsome, but this is a matter for your Shuiyue Empire. With the strength of the Shuiyue Empire, annihilating the Yanhuo Empire is not an issue. Why must Royal Duke Wang take the trouble to come here in person?”

“Royal Duke Wang, since the Tianwu Empire also agrees to send troops, the Luoyun Empire will not intervene. As you know, the Ji Xing Sect has been wiped out, and our empire simply can’t withstand a large-scale war,” the Great General added.

“This…” Royal Duke Wang was taken aback, having not expected such a result.

Is the Luoyun Empire not afraid of Feng Wuchen? Now there’s such a good opportunity to eliminate Feng Wuchen, why wouldn’t the Luoyun Empire dispatch troops?

Royal Duke Wang really couldn’t comprehend it.

“Luoyun Emperor, if we eliminate Feng Wuchen, it will be beneficial to all three of our empires. The Emperor has said that the Nine Layers Qiankun Tower and Feng Wuchen’s Earth Grade Martial Skills can be shared,” Royal Duke Wang said again, thinking that offering the Nine Layers Qiankun Tower and Earth Grade Martial Skills should be irresistible.

Not to mention the Nine Layers Qiankun Tower, just Feng Wuchen’s formidable Earth Grade Martial Skill alone was enough to make countless people covet it.

Upon hearing Royal Duke Wang’s words, the Luoyun Emperor and the others were startled, breaking out into a cold sweat.

Don’t you see whose treasure that is? It’s not something you can just take at will.

Besides, even if they acquired Feng Wuchen’s treasures, would the Shuiyue Empire truly share them?

Everyone knows that the Shuiyue Empire is the foremost among the four nations. After annihilating the Yanhuo Empire, even if the Tianwu Empire and the Luoyun Empire joined forces, they would not be a match for the Shuiyue Empire.

The Luoyun Emperor was no fool; how could he fail to understand that?

“Royal Duke Wang, we appreciate Emperor Lei’s kind gesture, but we have no interest in Feng Wuchen’s treasures. If the Shuiyue Empire goes to war against the Yanhuo Empire, the Luoyun Empire will absolutely not interfere,” the Luoyun Emperor shook his head.

“Luoyun Emperor, please reconsider,” Royal Duke Wang said anxiously.

Although the Shuiyue Empire is the leader of the four nations, one must remain courteous when asking for help.

Luoyun Emperor raised his hand and said, “Royal Duke Wang, there’s no need for further discussion. To deal with the Yanhuo Empire, the Tianwu Empire and Shuiyue Empire are sufficient. Our empire’s strength is no longer what it once was; it cannot afford to wage war.”

With a sense of helplessness, Royal Duke Wang shook his head and then departed in disappointment.

“Luoyun Emperor, be sure to think this over carefully. If you miss this opportunity, you won’t get to share in my treasures,” Feng Wuchen’s faint laughter suddenly filled the great hall, and his figure then appeared abruptly in the hall.

“Grand Commander jests; how could I dare to be an enemy of the Grand Commander?” the Luoyun Emperor said with a forced smile, a trace of apprehension in his eyes.

Before Royal Duke Wang had arrived, Feng Wuchen had already reached the Luoyun Empire and had subdued the Luoyun royal family with his overwhelming power. Otherwise, the Luoyun Emperor would probably have already agreed to send troops at Royal Duke Wang’s request.

In the great hall, the State Preceptor, the Great General, and the many high officials were all filled with terror at the thought of how frightening Feng Wuchen was, going beyond their imagination.

“That’s good! As long as the Luoyun Empire does not send troops, I will not threaten your survival, nor will I interfere with any of your affairs,” Feng Wuchen said mildly.

“Grand Commander, the Shuiyue Empire is powerful, with the Tai Xu Sect having two Second Layer Tianyuan Realm experts. Are you really confident?” the State Preceptor asked, frowning.

“No confidence!” Feng Wuchen shook his head.

“No confidence?” Upon hearing this, the Luoyun Emperor and the others were shocked, their faces suddenly turning pale.

Having no confidence and yet daring to oppose the Shuiyue Empire? Wasn’t that courting death?

Seeing the fearful expressions on everyone’s faces, Feng Wuchen said, “But they won’t be able to kill me either. I just want to see whether my father has been captured by the Shuiyue Empire or taken by the Tai Xu Sect.”

Apart from the Shuiyue Empire and the Tai Xu Sect, Feng Wuchen could think of no one else.

It couldn’t have been the Huangfu family; if Feng Zhengxiong had been captured by the Huangfu family, Huangfu Tianba and the others would have already sought revenge.

Feng Wuchen didn’t stay long and soon returned to his empire.

Three days later, as the two countries went to war, Feng Wuchen also had to return to prepare elixirs.

The Yanhuo Empire was also preparing for the upcoming battle. All soldiers of the empire were called back, and all forces, big and small, throughout the empire’s territories were making preparations.
