Chapter 218: Chapter 218: Lei Zhenfeng Raises an Army Chapter 218: Chapter 218: Lei Zhenfeng Raises an Army Imperial Palace of the Flame Empire.

Huanyang and Chaos God had already informed Duan Tian Hun and the others about Feng Wuchen’s killing of Qin Fei.

The grand hall was filled with a heavy atmosphere, and the faces of Duan Tian Hun and his associates were extremely solemn.

Clearly, the matter was very serious.

“How outrageous! Audacious and reckless to the extreme!” Duan Tian Hun bellowed angrily, his visage contorting ferociously.

“To dare to assassinate the master!” Yang Tianxian and Situ Zhentian burst out in rage.

“Emperor, this matter should not be blamed on the Grand Commander. This was a joint effort by Tai Xu Sect and the Shuiyue Empire to eliminate the Grand Commander! It has nothing to do with the Grand Commander.” Chaos God hurriedly argued, worried that Duan Tian Hun would punish Feng Wuchen.

Huanyang also quickly said, “Emperor, Murong Tianlie took action as well. If not for Miss Xiao Xiao’s barrier blocking Murong Tianlie, the Grand Commander might have been killed by him!”

“Hmph! That old thing Murong Tianlie!” Duan Tian Hun’s face turned utterly gloomy, and a terrifying murderous aura swept through the entire hall, scaring the high officials to the point of extreme fear.

“Do they really think my Flame Empire can be bullied so easily? They don’t take me seriously at all!” Duan Tian Hun stood up, his eyes full of ferocity, and roared, “Send an envoy to the Shuiyue Empire immediately, and demand a clear explanation from the Shuiyue Emperor! Why dare they attempt to assassinate my empire’s Grand Commander! If they do not give me a satisfactory explanation! Do not blame me for launching a war!”

Yang Tianxian and Situ Zhentian’s expressions shook slightly, shocked as they looked towards Duan Tian Hun.

The Shuiyue Empire, being the foremost among the four nations, possessed extremely formidable strength. Duan Tian Hun actually dared to talk of waging war? What kind of courage was this?

Where did Duan Tian Hun get his confidence?

Could it be just because he had heard Feng Wuchen’s words that the “Sky Shadow Cavalry and the Black Flag Army have not yet displayed their true strength”?

Hearing Duan Tian Hun’s words, Huanyang and Chaos God were quite shocked, also wondering where the Emperor got his confidence from.

However, they also breathed a sigh of relief; they had thought Duan Tian Hun was going to blame Feng Wuchen, which had caused them great worry.

Triggering a war between two countries was no small matter; such a conflict would endanger countless lives, causing countless families within the empire to be destroyed.

War is cruel; no one wishes for their families to be broken and lives lost.

“The envoy will depart for the Shuiyue Empire immediately!” declared the envoy respectfully, and promptly left the grand hall.

Duan Tian Hun ordered again, “Great General, heed my command!”

“Your subordinate is present!” Ye Cangqiong replied respectfully.

“Dispatch orders to all generals of the Empire! Gather all the troops from every unit at once! Stand by for orders!” Duan Tian Hun commanded sternly with an awe-inspiring presence, fully displaying the Emperor’s might!

“Understood!” Ye Cangqiong responded with respect.

“Huanyang! Chaos God!” Duan Tian Hun looked towards them.

“Your subordinates are present!” the two replied respectfully, their hearts already boiling with fervor!

Duan Tian Hun continued with his orders: “Sky Shadow Cavalry and the Black Flag Army are the most elite soldiers of the Empire, guardian gods of the empire. In the event of war between the two countries, you will play a decisive role. Show your true strength! Let the Shuiyue Empire take a good look!”

“Yes, Emperor!” they said respectfully, both excited and blood-boiling.

The Sky Shadow Cavalry and the Black Flag Army had been training under Feng Wuchen for so long; it was time to show their real strength!

“Return to Grand Commander’s side immediately; prepare to join him in battle at any moment!” Duan Tian Hun ordered.

“Understood!” Huanyang and Chaos God immediately set off for Unmatched City.

“Lei Zhenfeng! You better not underestimate the Flame Empire! The Flame Empire of today is not what it used to be!” Duan Tian Hun narrowed his eyes and said with a deep, angry voice.

…

Imperial Palace of the Shuiyue Empire.

The upper echelons of the empire had already learned of State Preceptor Qin Fei’s tragic death by Feng Wuchen’s hand, and the entire empire was filled with rage!

The soldiers and high ranking officials of the empire were shouting for the troops to be mobilized to annihilate the Flame Empire in vengeance!

“How outrageous! Absolutely outrageous! To dare kill our State Preceptor! Well done, Feng Wuchen! You truly do not take my Shuiyue Empire seriously!” In the grand hall, Lei Zhenfeng was utterly furious, his killing intent soaring!

“Emperor! Mobilize the troops!” the Great General bellowed angrily, emanating a fearsome killing intent.

“Mobilize the troops! Destroy the Flame Empire to avenge the State Preceptor!” the high officials all shouted in anger.

“Destroy the Flame Empire! Destroy the Flame Empire!” outside the palace, the empire’s soldiers roared, their voices shaking heaven and earth, a terrifying iron-blooded killing intent permeating the empire’s skies.

In the grand hall, Lei Zhenfeng’s face was twisted ferociously, his veins throbbing, looking very frightening.

Lei Jue’s expression was extremely grave, thinking to himself, “Does it really have to come to this? Even if Feng Wuchen is strong, he had no intention of threatening the empire. Why did Father order his assassination? Just because of the Nine Layers Qiankun Tower?”

Even if Lei Jue disagreed, he was only a prince with no right to speak and absolutely no ability to intervene.

“We beseech the Emperor to order the troops to march!” high officials knelt down one after another.

“Report!” A soldier rushed into the grand hall and said respectfully, “Your Majesty, an envoy from the Yanhuo Empire requests an audience!”

“An envoy from the Yanhuo Empire?” Lei Zhenfeng’s face darkened as he angrily said, “Let him in!”

The Great General shouted furiously, “He thinks he can come here to apologize? He’s courting death!”

The Yanhuo Empire’s envoy, Zhao Yanfeng, entered the grand hall, and even facing the many angry officials of the Empire, he showed no fear.

It was a rule not to kill an envoy.

“I have come to see the Emperor!” Zhao Yanfeng greeted with a salute, he was quite courteous.

“Hmph! You have come at just the right time! I want to ask you, how does Duan Tian Hun plan to explain himself to me after Feng Wuchen killed our State Preceptor?” Lei Zhenfeng roared in rage, completely furious.

Upon hearing this, Zhao Yanfeng remained fearless, speaking in a neither hot nor cold manner, “The Shuiyue Empire sent their State Preceptor, along with the Tai Xu Sect protector and the Great Elder, to jointly assassinate our Grand Commander. Our Emperor is furious. I, the envoy, was ordered to come here, and now I need to ask, what does Emperor Lei intend? I expect a reasonable explanation from Emperor Lei.”

“Preposterous! When did I send the State Preceptor to assassinate Feng Wuchen? And when did we join forces with the Tai Xu Sect?” Lei Zhenfeng roared even louder, his face growing more ferocious.

Zhao Yanfeng nodded and said with a smile, “Exactly, as the Emperor of the Shuiyue Empire, how could you possibly send the State Preceptor to the Yanhuo Empire, to Unmatched City, to assassinate the Grand Commander? Since the Emperor did not order it, it must be that Qin Fei lacked the strength, secretly colluded with the Tai Xu Sect, and went to the Yanhuo Empire, to Unmatched City to assassinate the Grand Commander – only to be killed by him!”

“You!” Lei Zhenfeng was enraged but found himself without a retort.

Zhao Yanfeng then said, “Emperor Lei, if you wish to pursue the matter regarding our Grand Commander, please provide a reasonable explanation to our Emperor.”

“You keep claiming that the State Preceptor joined forces with the Tai Xu Sect protector and the Great Elder to assassinate Feng Wuchen, do you have any evidence? It seems to me that the State Preceptor entered Unmatched City on his own and was discovered by Feng Wuchen, who then killed him!” a high-ranking official coldly interrupted.

Zhao Yanfeng glanced at the high official and replied with a sneer, “And what proof do you have that Qin Fei was killed by the Grand Commander? Saying Qin Fei went to Unmatched City is utterly foolish. How did you even attain your position as a high official? And moreover, what was Qin Fei doing in Unmatched City? There was also a Yuandan Realm Ninth Level expert with him, though his identity is unknown.”

The official’s face turned red with embarrassment, he fell silent, unable to reply.

Looking toward Lei Zhenfeng, Zhao Yanfeng continued, “Emperor Lei, our Emperor also said that if a reasonable explanation is not provided, he will lead troops to invade the Shuiyue Empire! The Grand Commander’s standing in our Empire is much higher than that of a prince or State Preceptor, and the Emperor will not let this matter rest!”

“Lead troops to invade our Empire?” The Great General scorned, “Let’s see you try! What is the Yanhuo Empire, anyway? Do you think you can rely on Ye Cangqiong?”

“You can go back and tell Duan Tian Hun that our Shuiyue Empire is ready to welcome him at any time!” another General shouted angrily.

“Since that’s the case, I will take your words back to our Emperor as you wish! Farewell!” Zhao Yanfeng said sneeringly and then turned to leave.

Lei Zhenfeng watched Zhao Yanfeng depart with a dark expression; knowing Duan Tian Hun dared to wage war because of the Tianwu Empire’s Sky Shadow cavalry and the Black Flag Army!

Lei Zhenfeng had witnessed the formidable strength of the two elite units of the Yanhuo Empire.

“Your Majesty! Duan Tian Hun is too arrogant! Quickly give the order!” The Great General said through gritted teeth, eager to levy war and annihilate the Yanhuo Empire.

No sooner had Zhao Yanfeng left, than the Shuiyue Empire received another distinguished guest, the Tai Xu Sect’s Third Elder, Lü Liang.

“Third Elder, may I ask what brings you here?” Lei Zhenfeng inquired.

Lü Liang replied respectfully, “Your Majesty, Feng Wuchen has attained the Yuandan Realm Ninth Level, and in combat with four other Yuandan Realm Ninth Level experts, two died and two were seriously injured. Our Sect Master also narrowly avoided injury when fighting him.”

“What? The Yuandan Realm Ninth Level?” The moment they heard this, Lei Zhenfeng and other high-level officials were stunned and exclaimed in shock, their eyes wide open.

“This… this can’t be possible…” Lei Jue trembled all over, simply unable to believe it.

“He went from the peak of the Yuandan Realm Seventh Level to the Yuandan Realm Ninth Level in one month?” The Great General was dumbfounded.

Lei Zhenfeng also had a look of astonishment on his face; such a terrifying speed was beyond anyone’s imagination.

“This man’s rate of cultivation is extremely frightening. If he breaks through to the Tianyuan Realm, I’m afraid he’ll be untouchable by any of the four great Empires! So, we must eliminate him before he breaks through to the Tianyuan Realm, while the Sect Master proposes that Your Majesty raise an army, with the Tai Xu Sect secretly aiding the Empire! To eliminate the Yanhuo Empire and Feng Wuchen!” Lü Liang said.

“Your Majesty, the Third Elder speaks sense. We can’t give Feng Wuchen any more time to cultivate, we can’t delay any longer!”

“Once Feng Wuchen breaks through to the Tianyuan Realm, I fear not even Your Majesty or the Sect Master will be able to handle him! The Ninth Level Qiankun Tower is a semi Immortal Artifact; by then, our Empire might…”

“Your Majesty! Order the troops to march at once! Send envoys to the Tianwu Empire and the Luoyun Empire – if our three Empires join forces, we will surely eliminate the Yanhuo Empire and kill Feng Wuchen!”

The officials in the grand hall started to panic, terrified at the thought of Feng Wuchen’s horrifying strength.

Lei Zhenfeng stood up with a dark expression and ordered, “Send the command down, raise the troops to attack the Yanhuo Empire! To avenge the State Preceptor!”

Lei Zhenfeng had no other options left; Qin Fei’s death had already entangled him with Feng Wuchen, and now he could only levy troops!

Upon hearing this, Lü Liang’s lips curled into a mysterious smile.

Lei Zhenfeng then continued to order, “Great General, dispatch messengers to the Luoyun Empire and the Tianwu Empire. United, our three Empires shall annihilate the Yanhuo Empire and destroy Feng Wuchen!”
