Three Towers Game

Chapter 135: Chapter 75: Miracle Mansion in Desire Tower_2

Wen Xishu was at a loss for words:

”You can drive?”

Ah Miao shook her head:

”No, but my initial identity can, and it seems to be quite good at it, a racer. This is also my first time experiencing this kind of thrill.”

Wen Xishu was even more speechless:

”And you drove all the way over here without encountering any obstacles?”

Ah Miao shook her head again:

”Very smoothly... I drove at full speed, but the road conditions were good, and I hardly ever had to stop.”

Wen Xishu was extremely speechless:

”So all the Luck Value went to me, but the actual luck went to you, huh?”

Saying that, Wen Xishu was still quite happy. Ah Miao had indeed grown a lot; he never thought she would reunite with him so easily, and his plan didn’t initially include any help from her.

But now it seemed, Ah Miao was very useful. Whether it was the sports car or her driving skills.

Ah Miao looked at the fence and gate ahead:

”Ah Shu, what are we going to do now?”

Wen Xishu also looked ahead, after a few seconds of silence, he slowly asked:

”What’s different about this Desire Tower experience compared to last time? Will you suddenly get prompts and choices?”

Ah Miao nodded:

”Yes.”

Wen Xishu said, ”Then do nothing. Just wait for the options to appear. Hide around here, don’t enter Miracle Mansion. Your racing skills are very useful; perhaps the key to racing against time lies with you this time.”

”By the way, what’s your phone number?”

Ah Miao took out her phone, and they exchanged numbers. Wen Xishu’s phone was stolen, but Ah Miao’s phone came with her identity.

Ah Miao said:

”So I just need to wait outside to pick you up? Don’t you need my help? Ah Shu, I’m quite useful now!”

Wen Xishu smiled; he indeed noticed there was no fear in Ah Miao’s eyes, not because of blind joy, but genuine courage.

He shook his head and smiled:

”You can help me more from outside because from now on, I’ll become nearly invisible, and following me would only affect me. But rest assured, you are not useless.”

”Remember what I said? Even if it’s just to consume action points to initiate a meeting, that person is still valuable. And Ah Miao, you’ve done very well.”

Ah Miao nodded:

”Alright, I’ll wait for you. Just give me a call, and I’ll drive right in!”

Wen Xishu had no doubts about Ah Miao’s words:

”Alright, wait for my message.”

The two parted outside Miracle Mansion. Ah Miao drove away, and Wen Xishu got out of the car and approached the entrance of Miracle Mansion.

In recent days, Miracle Mansion had been hit with a lot of negative news, saying strange things happened there, many people were killed, but these people later appeared on camera to deny the rumors, claiming they were living happily at Miracle Mansion.

Wen Xishu suddenly recalled a line from the mission prompt, which he had also told Yin Junchi:

They gather, they revel, they start to love each other, gradually, they begin to know the contents of the apocalypse in advance, and they start preparing for it.

Could this ”they” refer to the residents inside Miracle Apartments? These residents were not affected by the seven reversed households but filled up all the ordinary people in Miracle Apartments.

They gather, they revel, love each other, and prepare for the apocalypse. Could this mean—they were assimilated?

They became some sort of... eerie existence?

Just like the staff member Wen Xishu encountered in the elevator last night.

Wen Xishu didn’t think much more about it and walked directly toward the inside of Miracle Apartments.

At the entrance, security personnel quickly approached, with very formal, stiff smiles, and mechanical tones, saying:

”Hello, this is Miracle Mansion. If you are not a resident or staff member of the building, please leave.”

Two tall security guards gave the kind of creepy smile together. They looked like machines.

But that was not the most frightening part, the most chilling thing was through the door, inside the first-floor lobby of the mansion, there were many residents dressed in green.

Some were sweeping, some were getting water beside the water dispenser, and some were looking at each other as if communicating.

If you didn’t look carefully, at first glance, the ground floor of Desire Tower’s Miracle Mansion seemed very lively and full of people.

But it all felt like a disguise.

When the two security guards noticed Wen Xishu and smiled at him, everyone inside suddenly turned their heads at the same time.

Wen Xishu saw for a moment, everyone stopped what they were doing, turned their heads in unison, and smiled at him just like the security guards did.

Something was off about those smiles, but it was hard to pinpoint. If it was a photo, it would be fine, but if it was sudden, it would always feel strange.

Wen Xishu was no saint either; he returned the same smile.

At this moment, the options appeared.

[You see their smiles and feel even more certain that there is something strange here, you decide to—]

Among the options, three particularly interested Wen Xishu.

[Option 3: Attempt to apply for a security guard position.]

[Option 7: Awaken the security guards.]

[Option 12: Blend in. (This option is provided by the item ”Gradual Apathy”)]

Wen Xishu was quite tempted to try options 3 and 7. But considering the low success rates and the low chance of throwing high numbers for these two...
