Immortal Sword Master

Chapter 563: Chapter 558: Good and Evil as One, Leaving

As the Will of Evil made its move, a terrifying Power surged forth like a vast ocean. Ning Jiang and Wang Heng felt as if an invisible millstone had appeared around them, threatening to grind them to dust.

Faced with this Power, they couldn’t even move a single finger.

But just then, a gentle Power emerged from Wang Qingyi, neutralizing the tyrannical force.

”Qingyi?”

Wang Heng stared at Wang Qingyi in astonishment. He saw rays of light emanating from her, enveloping her entire body. Her gaze had changed, too; it was no longer lost, but filled with clarity.

”Looks like she remembers now,” Ning Jiang murmured, letting out a soft breath.

’Only Wang Qingyi, as the Will of Good, can deal with this Will of Evil.’

”I know what happened on Mist Island brought you pain and confusion, but it wasn’t your fault. You weren’t the one who killed them.”

Ning Jiang’s voice reached Wang Qingyi’s ears. ”Recreating the illusion of Mist Island is just you deceiving yourself. If you want to atone, then don’t run, don’t be afraid. Face him directly!”

”What should I do?”

As if triggered by the words ”Mist Island,” tears streamed endlessly from Wang Qingyi’s eyes—a sorrow born of instinct.

”I’ve tried. I can’t kill him. No matter what I do, I can’t kill him...”

Wang Qingyi murmured, her expression one of helplessness.

When the Will of Evil was first born, she had tried to kill it, to destroy it, but she failed. The Will of Evil simply couldn’t be killed.

Moreover, she couldn’t stop the Will of Evil. She could only watch helplessly as it destroyed all of Mist Island.

Afterward, heartbroken, she was driven out by the Will of Evil. To forget the past, she sealed her own memories, forgetting she was the Kun Fish, forgetting everything, and convincing herself she was Wang Heng’s granddaughter...

”The Wills of Good and Evil are like yin and yang, heaven and earth, sun and moon. Neither can exist without the other. Everyone has both good and evil in their hearts; no one can avoid it.”

Every word from Ning Jiang was a pearl of wisdom. Human nature is fundamentally good, but alongside the good, there is also a part that is evil. It’s just that most of the time, good suppresses evil, preventing it from developing.

But in some people, evil suppresses good, making them cruel and ruthless.

For Wang Qingyi to want to destroy the Will of Evil was a fundamental mistake. The Will of Evil could never be destroyed.

”Embrace him, understand him. Remember, he is one with you, a part of you. Even if you hate him, don’t think of destroying him. He *is* you!” Ning Jiang said.

”Silence!”

The Will of Evil roared in fury, channeling its Power to form a giant hand that shot toward Ning Jiang, intending to smash him to pieces.

But waves of gentle Power radiated from Wang Qingyi, shielding Ning Jiang and protecting him from harm.

”Embrace him?” Wang Qingyi whispered, a flicker of understanding in her confusion.

Ning Jiang continued, ”You want to destroy him because, in your heart, you’re afraid of him. But you have no reason to be afraid. You must believe that you are stronger than him, that you can restrain him. Good and evil are two sides of the same coin, but *you* are the one in control!”

’Don’t be afraid of him!’ A glimmer of realization dawned in Wang Qingyi’s eyes.

”Die!”

The Will of Evil flew into a rage. Terrifying Power surged from his body endlessly, and the very heavens and earth seemed to tremble. Wang Heng felt as if he were facing the wrath of the heavens.

Yet all of this Power was blocked by Wang Qingyi.

However, that evil will still inevitably affected Wang Heng, who was off to the side. At that moment, evil thoughts surged endlessly in his heart. His eyes gradually changed, becoming cruel, bloodthirsty, and malevolent.

”Kill kill kill kill kill kill kill! I’ll kill everything...”

Wang Heng roared. He seemed to have become a beast that knew only slaughter, his heart filled with a monstrous killing intent.

’Mortals will be mortals.’

Watching Wang Heng, Ning Jiang shook his head, completely unaffected.

All people have both good and evil, but he... had neither good nor evil!

His heart, like the Celestial Dao itself, was untainted by worldly dust.

The maddened Wang Heng quickly calmed down.

This was because layers of light were rippling off the nearby Wang Qingyi, filling one’s heart with peace, tranquility, gratitude, and compassion.

”I understand now. Thank you...”

Wang Qingyi smiled. Her eyes were clear, and within them, there was no longer any fear or apprehension—only a kind of resolve, a kind of courage.

”Go on.”

Ning Jiang nodded to her.

”Grandpa, thank you for these past ten years.”

Wang Qingyi called out to Wang Heng. That single word, ”Grandpa,” left him stunned on the spot.

He never thought that after regaining her senses, she would still be willing to call him Grandpa.

His lips trembled, wanting to say something, but not a single word would come out.

At that moment, Wang Qingyi took a step forward and walked toward the Will of Evil.

”What are you doing? Get away from me! Don’t come any closer!” Seeing this, the Will of Evil retreated again and again.

”I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have tried to harm you. When you were first born, I should have understood... that you are me.”

As Wang Qingyi spoke, her body slowly began to dissolve into a rain of light, drifting toward the Will of Evil.

”No! Get away!” the Will of Evil roared repeatedly.

Finally, Wang Qingyi’s entire being vanished, transforming into a countless shower of light that completely enveloped the Will of Evil. At first, the Will of Evil struggled desperately, but gradually, his voice faded away.

It was an absolutely stunning scene. Wang Heng was shaken to his core, his voice trembling as he said, ”Qingyi, my granddaughter...”

”The Wills of Good and Evil have merged into one,” Ning Jiang said slowly. ”As for who will ultimately gain the upper hand... it may take decades, or even centuries, before a victor is decided.”

”It’s like a process of consumption: either the Will of Good will devour the Will of Evil, or the Will of Evil will devour the Will of Good.”

Even he couldn’t be certain of the final outcome.

”You should go. I will send you out.”

After the two wills intertwined, they formed a sphere of black and white light. From within this sphere, Wang Qingyi’s voice emerged.

A White Whale appeared, and in its belly was a young woman—it was Little Dragon Girl.

”I hope that the next time we meet, it will be you I see.”

Ning Jiang offered his blessing. ’From the looks of it, Wang Qingyi has the upper hand for now,’ he thought. ’Otherwise, she wouldn’t be able to control the White Whale and release Little Dragon Girl.’

”It will be,” Wang Qingyi replied.

”Are you leaving or staying?” Ning Jiang asked, looking at Wang Heng.

”I want to stay here. This is my home; I’m not leaving.” Wang Heng shook his head. The outside world might be wonderful, but everything he cherished was here in the Foggy Area.

Besides, he wanted to stay here to accompany Wang Qingyi and help her overcome the Will of Evil.

”If that’s your choice, then farewell for now.”

Ning Jiang wasn’t surprised by Wang Heng’s answer.

With a single movement, he landed on the back of the White Whale. The whale let out a long cry, then carried him and Little Dragon Girl away.
