Immortal Sword Master

Chapter 556: Chapter 551: White Whale

The sea of fog was vast and boundless, obscuring the view in every direction. It was hard to even see the seawater beneath his feet. Ning Jiang felt as if he had entered another world, isolated from everything else.

”An Array? How odd!”

Ning Jiang murmured. He found this Foggy Area very strange. It resembled an Array, yet he couldn’t sense any of the fluctuations that an Array should have.

The Seven-Colored Pearl glowed, leading the way, and Ning Jiang followed.

As he traveled, he could clearly feel his sense of direction thrown into disarray—shifting left and right, up and down. Under such conditions, a Martial Artist would find it impossible to fly in a straight line.

As a result, any Martial Artist who fell into this place would naturally find it extremely difficult to escape.

As time went on, two hours quickly passed.

During these two hours, Ning Jiang encountered no danger. However, he discovered there was more to the mist than met the eye. Prolonged exposure made one feel agitated and unable to remain calm.

If an ordinary Martial Artist were trapped here, disturbed by the mist and unable to think clearly, escaping would become even more difficult.

However, for someone like Ning Jiang, the mist had virtually no effect on him.

His mind was clear and tranquil, completely undisturbed.

SPLASH!

Suddenly, the sound of a huge disturbance in the water came from up ahead.

’Hm? What’s that?’

Ning Jiang raised an eyebrow and looked over, quickly spotting a shocking scene.

In the seawater were enormous White Whales. They were as massive as mountains, their skin a pure white that resembled jade or silver.

”AOOOOO.”

They let out piercing cries, spouting columns of water from their blowholes. The sight was rather spectacular.

As if sensing Ning Jiang’s arrival, one of the White Whales swung its tail, bringing it down directly upon him.

Ning Jiang’s reaction was lightning-fast. In a flash, he dodged the attack. The blow was immensely powerful, slamming viciously into the sea and kicking up a monstrous wave.

At the same time, the other White Whales attacked Ning Jiang without hesitation.

’Such strong hostility.’

Ning Jiang frowned, sensing the intense hostility these White Whales held for him.

He had no intention of fighting and quickly retreated.

But the White Whales refused to let him go. They opened their mouths and spat out jets of seawater, which condensed into Water Spears that shot through the air, raining down on him from all sides.

”Hmph.”

Ning Jiang’s gaze turned cold. He threw a punch, and a burst of Thunderbolt annihilated all the Water Spears.

Furthermore, the Thunderbolt’s power, undiminished, continued onward and struck one of the White Whales. It disintegrated on the spot, but instead of blood, it simply dissipated into a cloud of white mist!

’Huh? It’s not a real living creature.’

Ning Jiang murmured in surprise. The White Whale was not a true living being, but some kind of special entity.

”Kill.”

Ning Jiang attacked decisively, blasting forth an endless barrage of Thunderbolt. In less than ten breaths, all the White Whales were annihilated, dissolving into mist.

Meanwhile, the Seven-Colored Pearl continued to point the way forward.

After traveling for about the time it takes an incense stick to burn, Ning Jiang encountered more of the same White Whales. This time, he chose not to confront them directly, instead avoiding them to conserve his energy.

「About five hours later.」

The sensation from the Seven-Colored Pearl grew stronger and stronger. Within its light, the faint, indistinct figure of a woman even began to appear.

”It seems this pearl really can sense the Little Dragon Girl. I must be very close now.”

Ning Jiang murmured and shot forward, accelerating.

”SPLASH.”

Finally, the immense sound of splashing water came from up ahead once more. A pod of White Whales appeared in Ning Jiang’s vision yet again.

This time, however, the pod was more than ten times larger than before. Hundreds of mountain-sized White Whales swam forward through the water.

What was even more shocking was that above the sea, flying within the vast mist, was another, distinctive White Whale!

This White Whale soared through the mist. Its body was somewhat transparent, and a single horn grew from its head. The aura it faintly exuded was comparable to that of a Heaven-Reaching Realm expert.

”That’s...!”

A moment later, Ning Jiang’s pupils constricted sharply.

Inside the White Whale’s transparent body, he saw a silhouette. It was a female figure, very blurry, but thanks to the strong connection from the Seven-Colored Pearl, he was almost certain it was the Little Dragon Girl!

’She was eaten?’

Ning Jiang was rather surprised. The Little Dragon Girl had clearly been swallowed by the White Whale.

However, this was different from a normal predator hunting its prey. Since the White Whale wasn’t a living creature, swallowing the Little Dragon Girl seemed more like a method of trapping her!

The White Whales were all swimming in one direction, as if they intended to take the Little Dragon Girl somewhere.

’I’ll rescue the Little Dragon Girl first. The rest can wait.’

With the clang of a sword, Ning Jiang drew his Thunder Dragon Sword and charged forward.

”Slash!”

He slashed down, and a massive Sword Aura tore through the vast white mist, instantly killing several White Whales.

”ROAR.”

The horned White Whale sensed Ning Jiang and let out an angry roar. Though its body was immense and cumbersome, it moved with extreme agility in the mist. With a twist, it turned and rammed toward Ning Jiang.

From a distance, it looked like a mountain hurtling toward him—a truly shocking sight.

But Ning Jiang was fearless. He stood his ground, neither resisting nor dodging.

The horned White Whale charged up to him, opened its great mouth, and swallowed him in a single gulp.

’Success.’

A thought flashed through Ning Jiang’s mind. ’With my current strength, I’m no match for this horned White Whale. My plan was to get inside its stomach and rescue the Little Dragon Girl from there.’

But the moment he entered the White Whale’s stomach, Ning Jiang felt the Spiritual Qi all over his body draining away, as if it were about to be completely absorbed.

”Suppress!”

Ning Jiang activated the Heaven-Devouring Demon Skill to suppress the flow of Spiritual Qi throughout his body.

The White Whale’s stomach contained no internal organs; it was just an empty space. Inside, Ning Jiang finally saw the Little Dragon Girl with his own eyes.

The Little Dragon Girl looked like a twelve or thirteen-year-old girl with her hair in pigtails. Her skin was snow-white, and her features were regular and exquisite—she had all the makings of a great beauty.

Ning Jiang knew this was due to her Dragon Race bloodline. For those of the same age, the Dragon Race bloodline caused the Little Dragon Girl to mature physically at a much slower rate than a normal person.

In fact, the Little Dragon Girl was about the same age as Gu Huaying.

At this moment, the Little Dragon Girl’s eyes were shut tight, and she had sunk into a deep slumber.

”Little Dragon Girl.”

Ning Jiang called her name a few times, trying to wake her, but to no avail.

The inside of this White Whale’s stomach was incredibly strange. The longer Ning Jiang stayed, the more he felt a heavy drowsiness wash over him.

’I need to get out of here first.’

Ning Jiang knew he couldn’t stay here for long. He activated his Thunder Dragon Sword and slashed out.
