Chapter 562: Chapter 557: The Kun Fish’s True Face

The blood was pale gold, and a faint Dragon’s Roar echoed from it. The moment Wang Heng heard the sound, an invisible pressure descended, making it hard for him to breathe.

”What is this?” Wang Heng asked, astonished.

”This is the blood of the Dragon Race,” Ning Jiang explained. ”For a creature like the Kun Fish, Dragon Race blood is their most beloved food.”

The reason Kunpengs hunt dragons is because they love the blood of the Dragon Race. The Kun Fish is no exception.

This was also why the Little Dragon Girl had been captured. She had Dragon Race blood in her veins, and it was this bloodline that attracted the Kun Fish.

After the Dragon Race blood appeared, the surrounding fog began to churn violently. Soon after, the long cries of White Whales echoed from within the mist.

”They’re here.”

Ning Jiang’s gaze sharpened. He saw the white fog around Mist Island surge like a tidal wave, crashing onto the island’s shores. From within the fog emerged one horned White Whale after another.

Seeing these White Whales, a deep hatred appeared in Wang Heng’s eyes. Years ago, it was these same creatures that had slaughtered everyone on Mist Island, turning the once-prosperous island into a land of the dead.

”Do you want to stay here, or come with me?” Ning Jiang glanced at Wang Heng.

”I’ll go with you!” Wang Heng took a deep breath. He knew this journey would be fraught with unpredictable danger, but he plunged ahead without a second thought. After all, these were the culprits who had massacred everyone on Mist Island, the source of his enduring hatred.

”Alright, then. Don’t resist,” Ning Jiang warned.

Soon, a massive White Whale flew before them, opened its cavernous maw, and swallowed them in a single gulp.

This was the second time Ning Jiang had been swallowed by a White Whale. With his prior experience, he was naturally unfazed. Wang Heng, on the other hand, looked shocked but quickly calmed himself.

After swallowing the two, the White Whale began its return journey.

They left Mist Island and traveled a thousand li. By now, the surrounding fog was filled with tiny ice crystals, creating a beautiful sight.

”I’ve never been here before.”

Wang Heng stared at his surroundings, utterly astonished. This place was like a forbidden land within the Foggy Area, full of mystery.

He knew he would never have reached this place in his lifetime if the White Whale hadn’t brought him. In the fog, all sense of direction was lost. Moreover, this place was clearly of utmost importance; the Kun Fish would obviously not allow ordinary Martial Artists to get close.

”We’re almost there. Whatever you see next, try not to be too surprised.”

Ning Jiang added a reminder. At this very moment, his senses detected a terrifyingly massive aura up ahead.

After advancing another hundred li, the White Whale finally stopped. It opened its mouth and spat Ning Jiang and Wang Heng out.

Once outside, the two of them got a clear look at their surroundings.

Amid the white mist, innumerable ice crystals glittered. Through their light, they could see an unimaginably massive fish appear in the fog ahead!

Its body was so large they couldn’t see its end. It seemed the ocean itself could not contain its colossal frame. Half of its body was submerged, while the other half rose from the surface like a range of the Ancient Mountain Range, its height impossible to gauge!

Its scales were a jade-like white, and every single one shimmered, radiating a sacred aura.

”Is that... the Kun Fish?”

Staring at the great fish, Wang Heng’s thoughts nearly ground to a halt. His voice was filled with disbelief.

”No need to be surprised. Even the youngest Kun Fish can be dozens of li long. If it evolves into a Kunpeng, it can reach three thousand li. This one is only three hundred li long, which is a normal size,” Ning Jiang said calmly.

According to legend, a Kunpeng’s body was a full three thousand li long. When its wings spread, they were like clouds that hung from the sky.

What did three thousand li mean? It was roughly the size of Qing Province.

In terms of sheer size, the Kunpeng could be called the largest of all Demon Beasts.

And this Kun Fish before them was about three hundred li long. A body this size was like a giant island, even larger than Mist Island itself.

”How are we supposed to fight a Demon Beast like this?”

Wang Heng’s voice trembled, the fires of vengeance in his heart all but extinguished. Before such a creature, he felt as insignificant as an ant. It was the feeling of an ant staring up at a giant dragon.

The dragon could kill the ant with a single breath.

’Can a creature this ancient truly be fought by mere mortals?’

”Don’t be afraid. Its evolution failed, and its will split in two. This is actually its weakest period. Its current Power is less than one percent of its peak, probably equivalent to a King with Seven or Eight Stars of combat strength,” Ning Jiang surmised.

”What? A King with Seven or Eight Stars?” Wang Heng exclaimed. ”That’s still not someone we can handle, is it?”

A King with Seven or Eight Stars could kill them a thousand times over with the lift of a finger. What shocked him even more was that this was its weakest state. ’At its peak, wouldn’t it be far beyond the level of a King?’

”Relax. We have Qingyi.”

Ning Jiang was perfectly composed. Seeing him like this, Wang Heng felt a little more at ease. Ning Jiang was an unfathomable person, not one to act rashly.

”The Dragon Race blood! Give it to me!”

Just then, a voice rang out. It was very childish, like that of a seven or eight-year-old.

The Kun Fish’s eyes suddenly fixed on Ning Jiang and Wang Heng.

”If you want it, come and get it yourself,” Ning Jiang said flatly.

”Give it to me now!”

The voice grew angry, like a child throwing a tantrum because they couldn’t have candy.

The surrounding fog churned and, a moment later, condensed into the form of a seven or eight-year-old child. The boy looked as if he were carved from pink jade, but his eyes were pitch black and filled with malice.

’Is this the evil will?’

Meeting that gaze, Wang Heng couldn’t help but shiver. When he was with Wang Qingyi, he found her kind and lovable. But this child had none of the innocence a boy his age should have—only pure evil!

This evil stirred a primal revulsion deep within him.

”It seems this evil will was born recently. Its Spiritual Wisdom isn’t very high,” Ning Jiang murmured. The evil will’s intelligence was about the same as a small child’s.

Except it wielded terrifying Power that no ordinary child possessed.

”Qingyi.”

Unflustered, Ning Jiang woke up Wang Qingyi, whom he had knocked unconscious earlier.

Wang Qingyi slowly came to. Seeing her surroundings, she was first confused, but then, as if remembering something, a struggle began to appear in her eyes.

”Who told you to come back!”

Seeing Wang Qingyi, the evil will’s face contorted in fury. With a wave of its hand, an immense Power surged toward them like a tidal wave.
