Return of the Antagonistic Lady Boss

Chapter 1056: Chapter 1028: Who Did You Scam This Time? (Fourth Update)

”In a good mood?” Yu Minglang called Qian when she was doing some fitness, her voice clearly very cheerful.

”Yeah, I just went out and spent some money today, it felt pretty good.”

”Bought something big for the house?”

”Nope, I spent money to buy an ending I really liked. Can’t buy the things I love with a thousand gold coins—”

This made Qian feel very pleased, though she couldn’t quite say why.

”Isn’t your pocket money all tied up in futures with Narcissus?” Yu Minglang rarely asked about her financial situation; the big family funds were managed with financial investments, leaving the pocket money part to Qian, who had a habit of regularly doing household financial reports.

”No worries, I spent 20,000 and got back 30,000.” The money isn’t important; the joy from the sense of achievement is.

”...Who did you mess with again?”

Seeing his wife’s expression, it was clear she was in a great mood, which put Yu Minglang in a good mood too.

”How can you say I messed with someone? I was just helping out many lives today. I wore the ugly work clothes you chose for me to teach a class, and happened to encounter a patient with violent tendencies, so I casually took on the case. It’s a small case that could be done in a few hours!”

It was quite a coincidence that Mr. Liu asked Qian to treat the girl who just today made things difficult for Luo Xiaoya by putting thumbtacks in her shoes.

This kid’s family business was doing alright, but she had violent tendencies from junior high, often bullying classmates with abnormal methods, and it got worse. Her father approached Mr. Liu because she once scalded the family cat with boiling water.

Such behavior is really terrifying, especially since this girl also likes reading books on violence; her father worried she would become someone frightening, so he sought out Mr. Liu.

Mr. Liu had wanted Qian to experience such a case, but unexpectedly, the girl kicked a steel plate, encountering an even more intense violence-prone patient and got beaten up.

As Qian was worrying about having frivolously given away her pocket money, she went to Mr. Liu’s house. Mr. Liu mentioned it, and Qian realized the girl who bullied the chubby girl was the patient she would see. Money symbols immediately appeared in Qian’s eyes.

”Sounds like this patient isn’t quite someone you like, huh?” Yu Minglang snickered.

A small case that could be done in a few hours, starting at 30,000, surely his wife particularly disliked this person.

”I’m a black-hearted doctor who only recognizes money. That’s just how I am. If she’s worried about money, she can find someone else.”

Qian didn’t want to mention the girl patient she really didn’t like, shifting the topic to the main issue.

”How’s Dalong over there, have you seen him?”

”He’s still completely clueless, doesn’t know where we’ve sent him, and quite hyped up. But Qian, I looked at his luggage and feel this kid is a bit off.”

”What’s off?”

”Dalong has been reading particularly violent books and playing very violent video games lately. Wouldn’t this affect him negatively?”

Upon hearing this, Qian finally let out a breath; she thought it was a big deal, but it was just this.

”That’s no big deal, just confiscate the books. Don’t worry, he won’t start down a bad path all because of a few books. With his nature, he can’t even be violent if he wanted to. Right now, he’s only on the receiving end of violence.”

”But isn’t it always said that movies and TV shows affect teenagers?” Yu Minglang confiscated those types of books from Dalong’s luggage, read a few pages, and gasped.

The writing was so gruesome; he wondered who slipped these books to Dalong, surely corrupting the kids.

”All along, the belief has been that violent movies or books affect people, even some convicts who were caught attributed their crimes to reading these bad books, but this is one-sided.”

It’s said that triad films influenced a generation, creating a batch of little troublemakers.

But why, when so many people watched, did only some do bad things?

Were there no hooligans before triad films?

Many more watched and only fancied themselves copying the witless scenes, dragging tree branches around bare-chested in the village, pretending to be big shots, leading a bunch of nasal kids pretending to be thugs, pulling on girls’ braids, kicking chickens, ducks, geese, dogs, cats, and secretly stealing melons from Mr. Wang’s field next door, and grew up to be law-abiding, good citizens.

Chen Zilong was obviously one of those, a wannabe with no guts.

”Qian, what you’re saying doesn’t quite match the elective course I took in school.” Yu Minglang gently reminded.

Qian snorted, ”Then what they taught you was wrong!”

The causes of violence are numerous, influenced by inherent environmental factors. For instance, today’s girl who cost her 30,000 was stimulated by a bad family atmosphere since childhood, lacking family emotional support, which led to violent tendencies. The chubby girl’s boyfriend showed abnormal behavior due to nerve damage. Nevertheless, it’s not adults who learn ’bad’ just by seeing a few movies or reading some books.

”Bad’ is not learned. Psychological experiments show there is no connection between violent content and real-life violence, though the industry disagrees, Qian stands by the no effect side.”

If someone truly becomes completely ’bad’ from reading a book or watching a movie, it means this person was already inherently prone to violence, with problematic family atmosphere, implying that the work makes an already prone person become more severe, but for normal individuals, it has no effect.

Therefore, adult offenders blaming bad works for their mistakes is subjective, as some people blame alcohol for losing control, it’s the same logic.

These are external factors; the genuine internal factors have been rooted long ago.

Yu Minglang didn’t understand Qian’s expertise but enjoyed her confident tone.

”Then with Dalong, we don’t need to bother, right?”

”No need, just wait to send him over and let this fool experience life himself. Real-life experience is the best way to force someone to grow. When he realizes there’s no way back, whether he wants to improve, he’ll have to.”

Coincidentally, her treatment plan for the girl who paid 30,000 was also real-life experience. Qian planned to first fill the missing fatherly love in the girl’s scenario experience, making treatment come naturally, accumulating only a few hours on Qian’s pace.

The debauched Dalong needed a bit more time, but he wasn’t as lucky, his experience awaited him wasn’t a scenario but reality.

The two chatted a bit more, reluctantly hanging up the phone.

Qian looked around the empty house, and lowered her head to write a line in her notebook.

Waiting for the debauched Dalong to be beaten till he’s out of his mind, haha!
