Return of the Antagonistic Lady Boss

Chapter 748: Chapter 722: Who Is the Real Executioner?

Qian thought about the case she had promised her brother to take, then looked at Bai Jin waiting eagerly for her response.

”Are you planning to write a related report?”

”I want to hear your professional explanation from the perspective of a psychologist—would it take up too much of your time?”

”If you have time, you can wait until I return the book, then I’ll give you an hour alone, how about that?” Qian was always generous with people who had helped her.

”Great!” Bai Jin was particularly happy.

A few minutes later, Qian and Bai Jin were sitting in a café near the school, with Bai Jin spreading out her notebook, looking as if she was ready to take notes.

”What information do you want to know about homosexuality? Should I talk about a few cases?” Qian asked.

”I want to ask you if homosexuality is really pathological.” Bai Jin’s eyes seemed a bit dim.

”The World Health Organization removed homosexuality from the list of mental disorders in 1993. Domestically, it wasn’t until a few years ago that the authoritative medicine was revised, and since 01, homosexuality hasn’t been considered a mental illness. Before then, many people viewed homosexuality similarly to mental illness. During a certain special historical period after the founding of the country, homosexuality was punishable by death. Society is progressing, but there is still much room for improvement.”

Qian cited authoritative sources.

”Why aren’t you taking notes? Finding this data yourself can be troublesome.”

”How do psychologists correct homosexuality?”

”I’m sorry to tell you, perhaps some psychologists claim they can make such corrections, but I can’t. In fact, I just refused a case, and by refusing it, my brother might lose some business.”

”An idol can’t cure everything?”

”It’s not that I can’t, but I don’t want to create more tragedies.”

”Why didn’t you take it then?” Bai Jin didn’t understand.

”This case is basically giving me money. Whether I sincerely try to treat him or not, this only son would definitely pretend to cooperate with me, and after just a session or two, he’d tell his family he’s been cured. His family also understands that his condition hasn’t been fixed since childhood. Seeing me before marriage is just for show to the girl. If I took it, he’d marry a woman.”

”Marrying an opposite sex partner to lead a normal life, haven’t you fulfilled your duty as a doctor? After all, in many people’s eyes, heterosexual marriage is the norm.” Bai Jin clutched her pen tightly, her heart aching from the constant pressure from her family to marry.

”Yes, in outsiders’ eyes, he’s ’normal’, but in reality? After marriage, he’ll still secretly meet men, and his wife would become a ’homowife’, enduring a marriage that exists in name only.”

”Ah... so that’s how it is!” Bai Jin realized and could feel that Qian had a very firm stance when she said these words. Didn’t her idol especially despise homosexuals?

Yes... such a ”disgusting” group, who wouldn’t despise them? Why was she still hoping for any understanding, Bai Jin lowered her head, her heart heavy.

”You actually... actually find these ’perverts’ particularly offensive too, right? After all, we—I mean they—aren’t like others.”

”I don’t have any special bias against homosexuals. To be precise, I don’t even discriminate against psychological disorders, let alone homosexuality, which has been removed from the list of mental diseases. Liking men or liking women isn’t something one can control, much less something a doctor can cure.”

”Then you—!” Bai Jin raised her head, feeling energized again. Could anyone truly understand her?

”I don’t discriminate against this group. Whether people like men or women has nothing to do with me. What I truly despise are those who deceive their spouses about their orientation. It’s unfair to the women who are deceived into marriage. In our country, millions of homowives are enduring marriages that exist in name only. Ironically, the cause of this phenomenon isn’t others; it’s those so-called ’normal’ people who claim to despise and find homosexuality disgusting. Because of their abnormal glances, some homosexuals have to disguise themselves as normal to get married and even have children, which is utterly tragic for those deceived into marriage.”

”So discrimination is wrong; homosexuals should be understood, right?” Bai Jin’s eyes started to redden.

”Understanding is needed but not encouragement. It’s crucial that ordinary people’s reduced discrimination results in fewer homosexual marriages in name only. Today, a single discriminating look from you could birth a tragic ’homowife’ tomorrow. Who exactly is the executioner? That’s a deeply ponderable question.”

In this day and age, when someone claims I’m homosexual, people immediately show disgusted expressions, standing away like avoiding a virus, fearing they might catch AIDS.

Extreme people might stealthily spray some paint on their doors, and pointing fingers behind their backs is just commonplace.

But despite despising homosexuals, calling them disgusting, calling them perverts, can it change a person’s orientation? Can despising others make oneself grow an extra piece of flesh or earn more money?

It cannot.

”Traditional views were proposed from the perspective of maintaining human normalcy for reproduction. When men grow up, they should marry, and women likewise. If one reaches a certain age without a family, elders keep nagging, so we’d resemble normal people doing normal things. But instead, it forces me to be more abnormal now.” Bai Jin shared her experience.

Qian nodded, ”Indeed, elders are especially superstitious and uphold ’normality.’ They would rather craft a façade of normalcy than face reality. This logic not only exists in homosexual marriages but also in families hiding a history of mental illness to marry and breed children, following roughly similar logic.”

Pursuing superficial ’normality,’ pushing someone already ’abnormal’ into marrying an innocent normal person, causing a group’s distortion is reality.

”Mr Chen, you must have figured it out by now, actually, I am——” Bai Jin felt relieved after hearing Qian’s words, and wanted to confess to Qian.

”I figured it out. That’s your freedom. No one else has the right to dictate your choices. When you choose a lifestyle, you must bear the inconveniences it brings. If you face unresolved dilemmas in your future, feel free to find me anytime, it’ll be free.”

Bai Jin cried.

It was the first time someone spoke so carefreely about understanding; she tried very hard to meet her family’s expectations, tried dating men, tried blind dates, but to no avail, she was desperate.

To hear understanding words from an idol during a desperate time helped immensely in her life.

”But one thing, whether you like men or women isn’t my concern, but you can’t like me. I’m aware of my boundless charm, appealing to both sexes, but I’m now married. If you secretly like me, my Xiaoqiang would get violent, really, he’s the type to hit women too.”

Qian half-joked.

Bai Jin burst into laughter; but honestly, if the idol hadn’t been so straightforward, perhaps she would’ve indeed harbored a few thoughts about Qian, but talking this openly actually put her at ease.

”Qian, what are you doing here, bullying a girl?” Qiuqiu came over with a girl to have coffee and immediately noticed Qian making a girl cry in the corner.
