Return of the Antagonistic Lady Boss

Chapter 732: Chapter 706: Lavish Spending for a Beauty

Qian and Mr. Yu left, and Mrs Ma saw Qian walking away with a well-off man and whispered to Mr. Ma.

”I told you she doesn’t seem like a decent woman, right? What’s her relationship with that man? Beautiful women who have houses and cars at such a young age must have relied on men to climb up the ranks, just having a sharp tongue.”

Liumei was too far to hear clearly but caught a few keywords, sensing they might be talking about her sister-in-law.

She wanted to confront them directly and ask Mrs Ma if she was talking about her sister-in-law. If it was about Qian, she definitely would have spoken up, but Fugui held her back, not wanting her to approach that family.

”What do you think of this?” Fugui handed the brochure of the property to Liumei, and the sales agent immediately started introducing it.

”This two-room unit has fantastic lighting, perfect for newlywed couples like you. Both bedrooms face the sun, making it great for a future baby.”

Liumei’s face turned red, ”We’re not—”

”How is the shared space calculated?” Fugui interrupted Liumei and directly asked the sales agent.

”Brother, this is two elevators and two households, so the shared space is a bit larger, but if you pay the deposit today, we’ll include a bay window, which is really worth it. Our community has excellent greenery. I see your sister wearing wristbands; she clearly likes sports. There’s a gym in our community that’s perfect for her.”

The pitch was quite persuasive, and Fugui was satisfied.

”Can I pay the deposit with a card?”

”You can! If you pay the deposit today, we have a promotional offer. Besides the bay window, you’ll get a raffle ticket, with a guaranteed prize. The grand prize is a luxury seven-day trip to the Maldives, with an ultra-luxurious presidential suite, sure to add sweetness to the couple’s life!”

”Do you like it?” Fugui asked Liumei.

Liumei quite liked it, but she wasn’t planning to buy a house today.

She had been hesitant about marrying this boyfriend, and now with all these happenings, she’s decided to find an opportunity to peacefully break up, planning to return the house money to her father, not wanting to use her parents’ money.

”I do like it, but I’m not planning to buy.” Liumei spoke frankly.

”If you like it, then buy it. I checked, and the location is good.”

”Our family matters don’t need your intervention. Liumei, come with me.” Ma Lv came over and overheard Fugui speaking, feeling dissatisfied.

Normally mild-mannered, Fugui didn’t let him take Liumei away, instead held onto her other arm.

”It’s a good view; why leave?”

”She won’t buy this kind of house.” Ma Lv glanced over; two rooms and a living room was definitely out of his consideration range. He planned to get a three-room place to bring his parents over.

”Your opinion doesn’t count.”

”If I don’t count, who does? You?” Ma Lv looked at Fugui contemptuously, and Fugui returned his gaze defiantly.

”It’s not important whether my opinion counts; if Liumei likes it, that’s enough. Have you considered her feelings?”

”If I like it, then Liumei likes it too, right? Liumei?” Ma Lv confidently asked Liumei, but she just silently looked at him.

Not getting a response, Ma Lv sensed something was wrong. His gaze shifted between Liumei and Fugui, filled with doubt.

”She has her own opinions; you have no right to decide for her.” Fugui was already fed up with this guy, speaking with a confrontational tone.

”This is our family matter. Liumei, come with me. Let’s check the one my parents looked at.”

”Do you always listen to your family? Are you the one getting married or your parents?” Liumei shook off Ma Lv’s hand.

If you leave when you’re disappointed enough, are you waiting until you’re completely shattered to leave?

”The elderly are, after all, old. Some things should be respected, right? You wouldn’t be so inconsiderate?” In the past two years, during the ten phone calls, Ma Lv felt Liumei was easy to get along with. Her behavior today seemed odd, maybe because of that bespectacled short guy?

With so many people around, Liumei didn’t want to speak too plainly, so she turned to Fugui with a gentle smile.

”Sorry, Fugui, I want to talk to him alone.”

”Alright.” Fugui let go.

Ma Lv looked smugly at Fugui; this little fellow wants to compete with him!

Amidst the crowd looking at the house, a woman pushing a stroller came over, accidentally bumping into Liumei’s leg, causing her to stagger in her high heels and fall sideways. Ma Lv and Fugui reached out simultaneously, but neither caught her, and Liumei fell to one knee.

”Ah! Sorry, sorry!” The woman with the stroller apologized repeatedly, and Liumei shook her head, ”It’s alright.”

Her knee was scraped, and her stockings were torn. Worse, her foot seemed twisted, and it hurt to stand.

”Sit over there for a while.” Fugui extended his hand to help her up, noticing her knee was bleeding slightly.

”No need, I need to discuss something first.”

”I kept telling you not to wear high heels, but you never listened. Now that you’ve fallen, it hurts, huh.” Ma Lv said coldly.

Fugui glared at him, ”Is it helpful to say this when someone’s fallen? Hindsight’s useless!”

”Who do you think you are?” Ma Lv also stared back defiantly.

Seeing these two about to start arguing, Liumei intervened.

”Stop arguing, give me a break, alright?”

Fugui stayed silent, but Ma Lv continued glaring at Fugui, ”Take care of yourself and don’t always be too close to other people’s girlfriends!”

Fugui glanced at Liumei but said nothing.

He gave Liumei face, choosing not to quarrel with such a person.

Ma Lv left with a victor’s expression, and Fugui watched their retreating figures with deep contemplation.

Other people’s girlfriend...

But is such a man really deserving of such a good girlfriend?

”Sir, do you still want to reserve the house?” The sales agent, uncertain about the trio’s situation, politely asked, waiting nearby.

”Yes.”

”Offer him a discount, Mr. Yu?”

Fugui glanced to the side, not knowing when Qian had returned and was standing with Mr. Yu.

”Come on, Fugui, I’ll go over with you. Mention my name.” Mr. Yu and Qian had just returned to the office and witnessed the scene on surveillance. He wholeheartedly supported Fugui’s actions—even though he couldn’t hear them, standing up to Ma Lv was admirable.

”No need, I can afford one house.” At that moment, Fugui’s demeanor shifted to that of a commanding CEO.

”You’re not working here; why buy a house, just to prove a point?” Qian asked.

”Buying it for appreciation, just to keep.” Fugui politely declined Mr. Yu’s offer for a discount, and went ahead to pay directly.

”This guy, with an official position holding him back, is too upright. If he accepted side jobs, he’d do well.” Qian gave an honest evaluation of Fugui as he walked away.

This was said for Mr. Yu to hear.

Mr. Yu smiled, ”Indeed, he’s quite a man.”

It was unclear if this impulsively buying a house was to beat Ma Lv or a lavish act for a beauty, but Fugui’s actions today shattered Mr. Yu’s previous impressions of him.

Alright, this gossip is really well collected, can go back and report to Mrs. Yu. The ups and downs of this drama, Mr. Yu can totally imagine how delighted Mrs. Yu will be hearing this.

”A capable man seldom directs his anger at women, and though Fugui from our family isn’t a perfect man, he handles family and women well.”
